RTI Commission dealing with 18,000 pending cases
As part of its state-wide campaign to enhance transparency and public accountability, the Telangana State Right to Information (RTI) Commission started its district-level tours with Medak as the first stop on Tuesday (July 29, 2025). State Chief Information Commissioner Chandrasekhar Reddy, along with Commissioners Boreddy Ayodhya Reddy, Desham Bhupal, P.V. Srinivas Rao, Mohisin Parveen, and Merla Vaishnavi, conducted a series of meetings and awareness programmes at the Medak Integrated Collectorate Office. An RTI awareness conference held at Prajavani Hall aimed at training Public Information Officers (PIOs) on the legal provisions and responsibilities under the RTI Act. District Collector Rahul Raj was present. Mr. Chandrasekhar Reddy highlighted the importance of the RTI Act and revealed that 18,000 cases are currently pending with the Commission, primarily due to the lack of response from departments over the past decade. He stressed the need for government offices to establish citizen charter boards and respond to information requests within 30 days, as mandated by law. He also announced that the Commission has resolved to clear all pending cases by August and is working on achieving zero pendency in 30 departments within the next two months. He added that awareness initiatives have already covered 11 districts, and by March next year, the Commission aims to bring transparency to all 22 districts by ensuring that 17 departments provide complete solutions to pending applications.

Ayodhya Reddy, 3 others appointed as RTI Commissioners
Hyderabad: The State government appointed four new Commissioners to the State Information Commission under the Right to Information (RTI) Act. The newly appointed RTI Commissioners include CM CPRO and senior journalist Boreddy Ayodhya Reddy and senior scribe PV Srinivasa Rao. The two other new Commissioners are Mohsina Parveen and Deshala Bhoopal. The appointments of RTI Commissioners have been pending for long, as Governor Jishnu Dev Varma sough some clarification on the eligibility of the candidates whose names were forwarded to Raj Bhavan recently. Senior officer of the Indian Forest Service, Chandrashekhar Reddy was already appointed as the Chief Information Commissioner.

Telangana Govt appointed four new RTI Commissioners
Hyderabad, May 12 (UNI) The Telangana government has appointed four new commissioners to the State Information Commission under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005.. The newly appointed RTI Commissioners include senior journalists Boreddy Ayodhya Reddy and P.V. Srinivasa Rao, while the other two are Ms Mohsina Parveen and Deshala Bhoopal, according to a notification issued by Chief Secretary to Government Mr K Ramakrishna Rao here on Monday. The commissioners would hold the office for three years from the date on which he/she enters upon his office or till he/she attains the age of sixty five years whichever is earlier. The 52-year-old Ayodhya Reddy is presently the Chief Public Relations Officers (CPRO) of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy while Srinivas Rao, is presently the BIG TV Editor in Chief. the 56-year-old Mohsina, an advocate, is an ex-member of Telangana State Waqf Tribunal , Hyderabad. The government earlier had appointed a senior officer of the Indian Forest Service, Chandrashekhar Reddy as the Chief Information Commissioner. UNI KNR GNK

New RTI Commissioners appointed
The government appointed four new commissioners to the State Information Commission under the Right to Information (RTI) Act. The newly appointed RTI Commissioners include senior journalists Boreddy Ayodhya Reddy and P.V. Srinivasa Rao, while the other two are Mohsina Parveen and Deshala Bhoopal. Mr. Ayodhya Reddy is presently the Chief Public Relations Officers (CPRO) of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. The appointments of RTI Commissioners have been pending for long. Recently, senior officer of the Indian Forest Service, Chandrashekhar Reddy was appointed as the Chief Information Commissioner. A few names sent by the government to the Governor were kept pending for some clarifications. However, after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met the Governor, Jishnu Dev Varma on Monday morning, few names were apparently cleared and orders were issued. The new RTI Commissioners have to face a huge backlog of applications pending due as a result of depleted staff all these years.
