Amazon Just Canceled The No. 2 Show In Its Top 10 List
The Bondsman Amazon This article was published on 5/17 and republished on 5/18. If you are occasionally baffled about why streaming services cancel seemingly successful shows, here's another example for you. Amazon Prime Video has just cancelled The Bondsman, the Kevin Bacon supernatural comedy that has him playing an undead bounty hunter. The twist here is that The Bondsman is a former #1 show on its Top 10 list, and as we sit here, it is the #2 original series on the service after a month and a half, as it was released on April 2. It's behind only Amazon ultra-megahit Reacher and still labeled a 'new series." Top 10 Amazon The show was not meant to be a miniseries, and the way it ended suggested it would be back for more. The cast also shared hopes for a season 2 online. Here's the full synopsis of the series if you haven't watched yourself: Why did this happen? Amazon isn't giving any clues and those behind the scenes aren't either, but we know why this sort of thing can happen. In this case. It's tough for the cast and with this Top 10 placement it still seems very weird and like viewership would not actually be a problem. But we have no idea what happens behind the scenes with this sort of thing and we probably never will. Update (5/18): No change on the list here as the cancellation has not discouraged people from watch the show, so it remains at #2. I'm sure plenty of people will be sad when they get to the end and wish there was more, but this is the streaming era that we live in. If you want more Kevin Bacon in your life post-cancellation, you can look for him starring in The Best You Can alongside his wife, Kyra Sedgwick. That must be fun! Here's the synopsis for that film: 'Stan Olszewski, a security guard foils a home robbery attempt at Cynthia Rand's residence. A charged friendship develops starting with late-night humorous texts. Their deepening bond shakes up both their lives.' He will also star in the upcoming miniseries Sirens, which features The White Lotus' Meghann Fahy and future Supergirl and past Targaryen, Milly Alcock. Seems like that's going to be one not to miss. That one has a simpler synopsis: 'Devon is concerned about her sister's unhealthy relationship with her new boss.' That will be out in just a few days on May 22, so we'll see how it's received then. Chris Jericho is disappointed, and he's leaving
Sunday night at Dynasty, The Learning Tree's Big Bill and Bryan Keith were unable to beat AEW Tag Team champions The Hurt Syndicate for their belts. Later in the night, Bill & Keith's sensei Chris Jericho lost the Ring of Honor World championship to Bandido in a title vs. mask match. Advertisement Jericho hosted an edition of his TV Time talk-show-within-the show on Dynamite tonight (April 9). He congratulated Bandido, then brought out his students. Based on how things have been going within the group for the past several weeks, Bill issued an ultimatum to Jericho... if he was actually going to teach them, the seven-footer would stay and listen. But if the nine-time World champ was going to berate them, Bill was going to leave. After grilling the Bounty Hunter to see if he felt the same way, Jericho told the pair that he wasn't angry. Instead, he pulled a trick known to dads everywhere and told them he was 'disappointed'. Jericho did a poor job masking his anger through, and proceeded to destroy the set. He then said that until that changes, it's best that he leave. Then he did. And he kept on leaving, and smashing things on his way out. Advertisement How long will he take off to get un-disappointed? How loud will the pop be when Bill finally clocks him? Weigh in below, and get complete results from tonight's episode of Dynamite here. More from
