We're slowly starting to figure it out, says Brad Binder after Czechia MotoGP eighth-place finish
Brad Binder finished eighth in the Czech Republic this past weekend. Photo: Red Bull Image: Red Bull Brad Binder was once again made to work hard as he charged from the back of the grid to walk away from the Czech Grand Prix with a valuable eighth-place finish, salvaging points after another gritty ride. The South African returned to the Brno circuit — the same track where he made history in 2020 by delivering not only his first MotoGP win but also KTM's first in the premier class — with hopes of reviving his season, which has been far from easy so far. The 29-year-old started his race from 19th place looking for more improvement following his 10th-place finish in Saturday's sprint race. 3 KTM's in the top 10! 💪🧡#CzechGP — RED BULL KTM FACTORY RACING (@KTM_Racing) July 20, 2025 Video Player is loading. 'I still never had the pace I was looking for, but somehow we were a little better (Sunday)," Binder said after the race. 'I found a way to be better in mid-corner and exit, but I was losing a lot of time in braking and entry. 'It just seemed to be more controllable in my hand, so I was really happy about that, and by no means am I happy with 8th position, but — even though it doesn't look like it — we are slowly starting to figure it out. 'This is something we have to work on and find the combination; if we can do that, then it can be very positive. We tried something completely different with the bike, a little bit with the engine character, and it helped a bit with the edge grip and the drive.' Spanish rider and Binder's teammate Pedro Acosta continued his good form with the RC16 as he secured a podium third-place finish behind championship favorite Marc Marquez and Aprilia's Marco Bezzecchi, who was second. Acosta has been the top KTM rider this season, currently finding himself in t of the championship riders, and Binder believes he can take away valuable lessons from his teammate and Tech3's Enea Bastianini, who also looked strong before crashing out in the main race. 'The really good thing is that both Pedro and Enea were super-fast this weekend, so I have some good things to check and figure out how they are doing it.'

Brad Binder excited over Red Bull KTM's pace at Czechia MotoGP
South African finishes eighth as his team-mate Pedro Acosta storms to podium finish in Brno. Brad Binder might not be thrilled with his eighth-place finish in the Czechia MotoGP, but he is excited over the good pace shown by the Red Bull KTM RC16 over the weekend. His team-mate Pedro Acosta managed to stay with the Ducati of winner Marc Marquez and runner-up Marco Bezzecchi's Aprilia for a long time before going off the boil to still finish third ahead of Pecco Bagnaia. Tech3 KTM rider Enea Bastianini was also in the hunt for a podium place before sliding out on lap seven. Both Acosta and Bastianini stood on the sprint podium on Saturday, a race also dominated by Marquez. Binder just missed out on Saturday points by finishing in 10th place. Brad Binder promoted Binder rode a solid main race from 19th on the grid to cross the line in ninth on Sunday. Fermin Aldeguer's three-second penalty for an infringement on Miguel Oliviera saw Binder gain one place. 'I'm by no means happy with eighth position, but even though it doesn't look like it, we are slowly starting to figure it out. The really good thing is that both Pedro and Enea were super-fast this weekend so I have some good things to check and figure out how they are doing it,' Binder told the KTM website after the race. Still 12th in title race Binder earned eight points in Brno and remains 12th in the title race. Out in front, Marc Marquez (381 points) now leads his brother Alex by a mammoth 120 points. Brad Binder's brother Darryn Binder was less successful in Brno, finishing the Moto2 outside the points in 17th place. The season now takes its customary four-week summer break before action returns at KTM's home track, the Red Bull Ring in Austria, from 15 to 17 August.

Tyre troubles do not stop Brad to secure 7th place in action-packed German MotoGP
Krugersdorp's MotoGP sensation Brad Binder crossed the finish line in seventh place at the weekend's German Grand Prix. According to the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, Brad was quick to move into the top 10 from the first lap. He then endured tyre pressure problems for the duration, but stayed on two wheels when a series of other riders fell into the gravel. He was less than a 10th of a second from sixth. 'From a working point of view and the weekend as a whole, this was a step. The main race was super difficult. It was such a long race, and a lot of guys were going down,' said Brad. 'It was chaos out there and very tricky for the front end. I was in a group the entire time, and that was hard for the tyre pressure and keeping the whole thing up. It was sketchy, so even though I would have liked a much better result, it was an accomplishment to get to the line,' he concluded. After his seventh place at this race in Sachsenring, Brad is currently 12th in the Championship Standings. He will be in action again from July 18 to 20 at the Tissot Grand Prix of Czechia.
