Woman dies after being struck on F.E. Everett Turnpike in Nashua

A woman died early Thursday after being struck by a vehicle on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Nashua, authorities said. New Hampshire State Police began receiving reports just after 3 a.m. of a pedestrian struck on the southbound side near mile marker 0.4, just north of the Massachusetts border. Troopers and Nashua police officers arrived to find an adult female who had suffered fatal injuries. The driver of a Chevrolet Silverado remained at the scene, with the vehicle stopped in the breakdown lane, State Police said. The southbound lanes were closed for several hours during the investigation, which is ongoing. Authorities are withholding the victim's identity until relatives can be notified. A woman is dead after being hit by a vehicle near the Massachusetts-New Hampshire border early Thursday morning. New Hampshire State Police troopers received a report of a pedestrian struck on the southbound side of the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Nashua, just over the Massachusetts border. State troopers arrived and pronounced the woman deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado stopped in the breakdown lane and remained at the scene. The southbound travel lanes were closed for several hours while an investigation was conducted. The woman's identity has not been revealed pending notification of kin. Members of the Nashua Police Department and Nashua Fire Rescue are assisting state police troopers in the investigation.
