"India waited for Pakistan to act, but there was no action," says BJP MP Brij Lal in Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur [Malaysia], June 1 (ANI): BJP Member of Parliament Brij Lal, part of the JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha-led delegation tasked with informing nations about Pakistan-sponsored terror has emphasized the urgent need to fight terrorism, highlighting the suffering India has endured due to repeated terror attacks. 'We suffered terrorism for about four decades. We know who is doing it. Initially, we didn't take much action,' he said, recalling major incidents like the 1999 hijacking from Kathmandu and the 2008 Mumbai attacks. We lost 166 lives at Mumbai, including 226 foreigners. Our only message is to combat terrorism,' Lal said The BJP leader highlighted India's measured response to terror attacks, including Operation Sindoor in April. 'India waited for Pakistan to react on it, to catch the perpetrators, but it was not the first time. Historically, we always tried to wait for Pakistan to first act on it and bring them to justice. Many times in the past, we have also given them documented proofs. We even established a joint inquiry commission with Pakistan to investigate, but there was no action,' he said. Citing proof of terror support, he said, 'It is evident and validated in all media channels that at the funeral of leading terrorists, army generals and high-ranking politicians were present, giving them a state farewell.' Urging international unity in combating terrorism, he said, 'Malaysia also has a footprint of terrorism. So friends, our only message is to fight against terrorism. Unite with us. Every country doesn't want terrorism in any form. And we have resolved that if terrorist activities take place again in our country, these new normal policies would treat it as war against India. And we will take action accordingly.' Brij Lal underlined the link between peace and development. 'Our goal is development. We jumped from being the 11th largest economy in 2014 to the 4th largest economy in the world. Our target is to become a fully developed nation by 2047. As a law enforcer, I know how important peace is to development. Unless there is peace and tranquillity, no society or nation can achieve development. It is a prerequisite.' Speaking to the Indian community at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Cultural Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Brij Lal said, 'You live in Malaysia, but your heart is in India. That's why we are here to share this message with you. India is on the path to becoming a developed nation by 2047.' He concluded by calling for support from Malaysia and the global community, saying, 'We really need to stand together in this fight against terrorism. We also need Malaysia's support, whether it is representing us in the Organisation of Islamic Countries or putting our voice in the Financial Action Task Force.' The delegation, led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha and including members from various political parties such as BJP's Brij Lal, Pradan Baruah, Hemang Joshi, Aparajita Sarangi, Trinamool Congress's Abhishek Banerjee, CPI-M's John Brittas, Congress leader and former union minister Salman Khurshid, and Mohan Kumar, is visiting partner countries to express India's firm resolve against cross-border terrorism and its policy of zero tolerance. Before arriving in Malaysia, the delegation visited Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore as part of this diplomatic outreach aimed at strengthening international cooperation against terrorism. "Everybody should openly admit that Pakistan harbours terrorism": All-party delegation member Brij Lal
Seoul [South Korea], May 26 (ANI): BJP MP Brij Lal, who is part of the JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha-led all-party delegation to inform nations about Pakistan's links to terrorism, on Monday (local time) urged the global community to acknowledge Pakistan's role in harbouring terrorism, citing substantial evidence and historical admissions by former Pakistani leaders. During an interaction with South Korean think tanks in Seoul, the BJP MP underscored India's resolve to combat terrorism following Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, 2025, in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. He emphasised the precision of India's military response, which targeted only terrorist bases without harming civilians, and called for international support in this fight. 'We have a lot of evidence (on Pakistan's terrorism). They themselves accepted (that they harbour terrorists). General Musharraf was the Army Chief and President of Pakistan, and he said, 'We harbour terrorists; they are our heroes.' Now our Prime Minister has made a decision that this is a new normal; when they attack, we will retaliate,' Lal stated. 'We attacked only terrorist bases and did not kill any civilians... We only precisely attacked the terrorists... We request the world community, especially our South Korean friends, to be with us to fight terrorism... Everybody should now openly admit that Pakistan harbours terrorism, and this is not acceptable in the present world of development,' he added. Earlier duirng the interaction, delegation leader and Jha called out Pakistan's long-standing role in sponsoring cross-border terror, highlighting the killing of 26 tourists in Kashmir on April 22. Jha underscored that the attackers were trained, financed, and sheltered by Pakistan. 'Yesterday, India became the fourth-largest economy in the world. We surpassed Japan. We are the largest democratic country. The Government of India has sent seven delegations to different countries across the world to apprise them about what happened in Kashmir on April 22 where 26 innocent tourists were gunned down in front of their families on religious lines, 25 Indians and one Nepali,' Jha said. Emphasising India's shift in approach under Operation Sindoor, he made it clear that India will no longer distinguish between terrorists and the countries that support them. 'All (the terrorists) came from Pakistan. Pakistan trained them, financed them, gave them shelter. It has been the state policy of Pakistan to sponsor terrorism for the last 40 years. If you have seen or read the Sky interview of Khwaja Sharif, the Pakistan Defence Minister, he admitted that we have been doing this dirty work for the last 30 years,' Jha said. 'The Republic of Korea is important to us as the country is a member of the UNSC. At UNSC, the world should unite to fight against terrorism... We can't change our neighbour and the way they are behaving, India changed its policy. We launched Operation Sindoor. Now it's a new normal in India. If something happens, we will not differentiate between the terrorists and the country that sponsors terrorists,' he added. On Sunday, the Jha-led delegation held a meeting with the Ambassador of India to South Korea, Amit Kumar, at the Indian Embassy in Seoul. Along with Lal, the delegation includes Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee, CPI(M) MP John Brittas, BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi, BJP MP Brij Lal, BJP MP Pradan Baruah, Ambassador Mohan Kumar, and BJP MP Hemang Joshi. The visit marks a continuation of Operation Sindoor, India's diplomatic outreach following the recent terror attacks in Pahalgam. (ANI)

"Whenever there is terrorism, we will consider it as war": BJP MP Brij Lal echoes India's stand at global level
Tokyo [Japan], May 24 (ANI): BJP MP Brij Lal, who is a part of an all-party delegation visiting Japan, highlighted the extensive evidence linking Pakistan to numerous terror attacks in India during the interaction of the Indian Community there on Saturday (local time). Lal underscored the impact of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism on India's development, citing specific incidents and the strategic response under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's zero-tolerance policy. Lal stated that a country can't be developed without peace, noting that Pakistan has been causing all these terror attacks to disrupt the peace in India. 'A country becomes developed when there is peace, there is law and order. If there is no law and order, one can't be developed. No investor would like to come here... Pakistan has always tried to create such disturbances, so no investors come to the country... There have been a number of incidents of Pakistan doing terrorist attacks in our country... There are terrorist organisations in Pakistan, mainly Jaish-e-Mohammed, headed by Masood Azhar; Lashkar-e-Taiba, headed by Hafiz Saeed; and Hizbul Mujahideen, headed by Syed Salahuddin. Apart from that, there are many other organisations,' he stated. Further, he highlighted several instances when Pakistan-sponsored terrorism attacks occurred in different parts of India. 'Also on the orders of Pakistan's ISI and its government, they created the Indian Mujahideen... It was the proxy of LeT... Indian Mujahideen attacked the Indian Science Congress in 2005 in Bangalore, as they couldn't attack ISRO due to high security at the place... A professor of IIT Delhi was killed... On 1st January, 2008, they attacked and killed seven CRPF personnel and we captured all the terrorists, out of which two were Pakistanis,' Brij Lal said. 'In 26/11, 171 people were killed, out of which two were IPS Officers... We captured Kasab, who was from Pakistan... Pakistan denied it, but Pakistani media went to Kasab's village there... We have a lot of evidence (against Pakistan)... They continued their attacks to make the Country unsafe so that no one comes to the Country... My point is there is a lot of evidence against Pakistan,' Lal added. Highlighting India's response against terrorism under PM Modi, the BJP MP said, 'When PM Modi came (to power) in 2014, he had a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, and accordingly, we did a surgical strike in 2016, did the same in 2019 in Balakot and again retaliated on April 22... They know they can't win against India one-on-one. So they planned to give 1000 cuts to India so that India bleeds... but now we have taken the decision and attacked with precision... It is a war... Whenever there is terrorism, we will consider it as war.' Lal is part of the delegation led by Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Jha, which includes Ambassador Mohan Kumar, BJP MP Dr Hemang Joshi, CPI(M) MP John Brittas, BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi, BJP MP Brij Lal, and BJP MP Pradan Baruah and TMC Abhishek Banerjee. The delegation aims to brief international partners on India's response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and its broader fight against cross-border terrorism while engaging with leaders in Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, and Singapore. India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The Indian Armed Forces responded effectively to subsequent Pakistani aggression and pounded its airbases. The two countries have reached an understanding to stop military action following a call made by Pakistan's DGMO to his Indian counterpart. (ANI)

"Happy that people of Japan have supported India's fight against terrorism": BJP MP Brij Lal
Tokyo [Japan], May 23 (ANI): BJP MP Brij Lal expressed happiness that the people of Japan have supported India's fight against terrorism and called the meetings with Japanese officials 'good.' He said that India has been suffering due to terrorism for nearly four decades and did not react till 2016. Brij Lal, who is part of the JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha-led delegation, which is on a visit to Japan and other East Asian nations, mentioned how India has retaliated against terrorists after Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office. He recalled the airstrikes conducted in Balakot and the surgical strike carried out in 2016. He stated that the world appreciates India's stance against terrorism and knows that India is a peaceful nation. He asserted that India will destroy terrorist bases and their sponsors if it is attacked. On all-party delegation's meeting Japanese Foreign Minister and think tanks, he said, 'The meeting was very good. We were happy that the people of Japan have supported India's fight against terrorism. India has been suffering for nearly four decades and you must remember, we did not react till 2016. I was serving as Additional Director General in the UP when the 2008 26/11 occured, where 170 people were killed. Among them were, two IPS officers, Hemant Karkare IGN, Ashok Kamte DIG. It went on for three days, Kasab was caught and nine were killed, total evidence.' 'After that, when PM Modi came in 2014, we launched a surgical strike in 2016 when they attacked us. We were thinking that Pakistan would understand now. In 2019, they again carried out attacks and we conducted an airstrike in Balakot. After 2019, we were thinking that Pakistan might understand. In the April 22 attack, they killed people after asking about their religion. A lady asked them to kill her too, her husband was killed, so they said go and give a message to the Prime Minister. After that, we carried out a precise attack and by carrying out precise attack, we did not kill civilians, we only destroyed their terrorist infrastructure. After that we know that Pakistan would retaliate. They attacked, and after that, we destroyed their bases. We are telling this to the entire world; the world is understanding that we did not escalate... Today, the entire world is understanding... They are appreciating our stand and that we are a peaceful country, but if we are attacked, then this is the new India, Modi's India, and we will destroy the terrorist bases and their sponsors if we are attacked,' he added. An All-Party Parliamentary delegation from India, led by Sanjay Kumar Jha, Member of Parliament, is on a visit to Japan from May 22 to 24. On Thursday, the delegation met Japan's Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya. The delegation also met former Japanese PM Yoshihide Suga and current Vice President of the Liberal Democratic Party and Chairman of the Japan-India Association, as well as Takashi Endo, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on National Security. Both leaders affirmed Japan's continued support for India's efforts against terrorism, the official statement added. The Indian delegation also held an interaction with leading Japanese think tanks, briefing participants on India's zero tolerance policy on terrorism. Participants expressed strong support for India's counterterrorism stance during the discussions. The all-party delegation projects India's national consensus and resolute approach to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. It will convey to the world the country's strong message of zero tolerance for terrorism. (ANI) India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed. Indian Armed Forces targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the death of over 100 terrorists affiliated with terror outfits like the Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen. After the attack, Pakistan retaliated with cross-border shelling across the Line of Control and Jammu and Kashmir as well as attempted drone attacks along the border regions, following which India launched a coordinated attack and damaged radar infrastructure, communication centres and airfields across airbases in Pakistan. After this, on May 10, an understanding of the cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan was announced. (ANI)
