Transfer news LIVE: Arsenal's crunch Gyokeres talks, Ekitike set for Liverpool medical, Man Utd exits loom
Manchester United finally have their man after Bryan Mbeumo completed his move to Old Trafford on Monday in a deal worth just over £70million - and plenty more big deals are lined up across the Premier League. With Mbeumo signed, Ruben Amorim and Co will turn their attention to finding a new No 9. One player who won't be joining, though, is his ex-frontman at Sporting Lisbon, Viktor Gyokeres, who is hopeful a move to Arsenal can be completed soon. The Gunners want a new No 9 and have gone after the Swede, who is doing all he can to force his exit from the Portuguese champions. That move could take Mikel Arteta 's summer spend close to the £200m mark. Liverpool are the summer's biggest spenders and, after breaking the British-transfer record, look like they've landed even more firepower with Hugo Ekitike set to undergo a medical before joining from Eintracht Frankfurt. Elsewhere Marcus Rashford 's loan move to Barcelona is almost done, Jack Grealish still wants a way out of Manchester City and speculation over Newcastle 's Alexander Isak simply refuses to go away. 06:33KEY EVENT Ekitike set for medical Moving onto a deal which is all agreed, we're expecting Hugo Ekitike on Merseyside today. The Frenchman, 23, is set to undergo a medical ahead of sealing his £79million transfer to Liverpool. Once this ones confirmed all eyes will be on the champions to see if they spend again. 06:31KEY EVENT Gyokeres to Arsenal status Are we any closer to an end in the Viktor Gyokeres saga? Maybe. Arsenal and Sporting Lisbon remain locked in talks as they bid to nail down the final structure of a deal which would bring the Swede to north London. Arsenal are now on their pre-season tour of Asia, which they would like Gyokeres to join them on. But if that's going to happen, they need to find a resolution to the current stalemate in talks.

Liverpool line up another new transfer to dismay Gary Neville and David Beckham
Liverpool are eyeing up Salford City teenager Will Wright, who has been hugely impressive at the League Two outfit, with David Beckham and Gary Neville potentially losing a future star Liverpool are looking to land the signing of Salford City teenager Will Wright, who has been hugely impressive after enjoying a swift rise at Moor Lane. The League Two outfit look to have unearthed a gem after seeing him excel with the club's youth ranks, which eventually saw him making four appearances for the first-term last season, one coming in the FA Cup loss at Manchester City. Salford are now co-owned by Gary Neville and David Beckham but the duo are set to lose their young star. Wright's potential departure will land Salford a six-figure sum, reports TalkSport, with a number of Premier League clubs also keeping tabs on the 17-year-old. Arsenal, Brentford, Leicester City and Burnley have monitored the player. Wright is now going into the second year of his scholarship with Salford after being spotted playing for local sides Euxton Villa and Fylde only two years ago, but he could be about to jump up the football league pyramid to join one of England's giants He won't go straight into the first-team at Anfield given their wealth of attacking talent, but the Reds would still be able to land a player who could go on to be a future success story. Salford have been stuck in the fourth tier since their promotion from the National League in 2019. Despite the fortunes invested by the Class of 92 they have only made the play-offs once with a number of managers coming and going during that period. The Ammies have previously seen some of their leading lights move on to bigger and better things. They signed Brandon Thomas-Asante when he was without a club and the frontman went on to sign for West Brom and now finds himself at Coventry. Vaclav Hladky left for Ipswich and is now on Burnley's books. As Wright continues to feature in pre-season for Salford he said: "For all of us it is a fantastic opportunity, not even playing games, but just to be training with them. Gaining the experience and taking things back to the academy and hopefully bring more people through." Liverpool meanwhile could take their summer spending beyond the £300million mark as they weigh up breaking the British-transfer record to land Alexander Isak from Newcastle. Already Arne Slot has signed Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez. Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content. Alexander Isak has made Liverpool feelings clear as Reds plan record move for Newcastle star
Alexander Isak is firmly on Liverpool's radar as they prepare to make a move for the Newcastle ace, worth well over £100million, with the Swede previously lauding Anfield Newcastle star Alexander Isak is firmly on Liverpool's radar and the Swede previously made it clear how much he adores playing at Anfield. Since moving to England in 2022 he's only had limited opportunities to play on Merseyside, but it has left its impression. Isak scored on first appearance there early in his Newcastle days and now the Reds are preparing another club-record bid to lure the striker. Liverpool have already spent upwards of £200million this summer but it is understood they are ready to test Newcastle's resolve. The Times claim Newcastle are braced for an official offer from Liverpool, which could be in the region of £130m as they look to land one of Europe's most sought after strikers. Isak has never expressed any desire to leave Newcastle, but it remains to be seen if he has his head turned. He scored against Liverpool when they won the Carabao Cup at Wembley last year but has years to run on his deal at St James' Park. The striker moving would require Liverpool to break the British-transfer record for the second time in a matter of weeks having already signed Florian Wirtz, but Isak's words may give them some encouragement. He said: "There are not many places like St James' Park. The atmosphere is very special and I think you can judge a stadium, not just on the atmosphere but how difficult it is to come as an away team. It's a special place. I think people have a hard time coming to the stadium." Unprompted the Swede then also underlined his admiration for Liverpool's iconic ground. He said: 'I'd say Anfield is probably up there as well," Isak added. "The atmosphere is really good - it's probably the toughest away game.' Newcastle have maintained that their top players are not for sale - and retaining them has been made easier following a season where they won a trophy and returned to the Champions League. Isak, as well as Anthony Gordon and Bruno Guimaraes, have been linked with moves away in the past, but the club have no intention to sell and want to bolster their ranks with their pursuit of Hugo Ekitike underlining their ambition. Despite that Eddie Howe admitted he wouldn't give guarantees about who would still be at Newcastle come the new season. The manager said back in May: "I never make those guarantees about any player. It's not to do with Alex's future, I'd be foolish to sit here and do anything like that." Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
