Bahrain's 2Seas Motorsport continued their strong run in the British GT Championship, storming to a superb double-podium weekend at Oulton Park in Cheshire, United Kingdom. Under the ownership of HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the team delivered a standout performance, flying the Bahraini flag high on international ground. With two rounds taking place over the weekend, 2Seas fielded a pair of cars in a fiercely competitive grid of more than 30. In the first race, drivers Kevin Tse and Maximilian Götz produced a stellar drive, battling through a hotly contested field to take a well-earned win and step onto the top of the podium. Race two saw the pair convert their pole position start into a strong win, navigating tricky conditions with clinical preci-sion to seal back-to-back victories. Their teamwork and composure under pressure highlighted their growing presence in the championship. Title Hopes Alive Meanwhile, team mates Charles Dawson and Kern Joyce endured a more challenging weekend, facing stiff competition throughout both races. Despite the obstacles, they kept their heads down and secured top-ten finishes in both rounds, which was enough to maintain their lead in the overall championship standings. Their consistency continues to be a major asset for the team's title ambitions, and the ability to bank solid points un-der pressure reflects the depth of the squad. Team owner HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his pride in the team's performance, high-lighting the importance of these results in boosting Bahrain's profile in global motorsport. 'This victory is a proud moment for all of us,' he said. 'It reflects not only the talent of our drivers but also the hard work of the entire team behind the scenes—engineers, strategists, and mechanics. Flying the flag of Bahrain in such a competitive environment is a true honour.'

Dan Harper thrilled to see gamble pay off after clinching second Silverstone success
A one-off appearance at round two of the 2025 British GT Championship was rewarded with a hard-fought win for the Paradine Competition duo at the Northamptonshire venue. Starting fifth, they placed their faith in an unconventional driver changeover strategy that relied on safety car periods and Full Course Yellows coming to their rescue, and not being held up by back markers, or those competitors taking part in slower GT4 machinery. The approach left them out of sequence with the rest of the GT3 field and meant Harper had to play catch-up for most of his stint. However, the 24-year-old produced yet another trademark driving masterclass, and with 26 minutes remaining, he moved into the lead as Kiern Jewiss served a drive-through penalty in his 2 Seas Motorsport Mercedes-AMG. A nail-biting game of cat and mouse ensued, with Harper having to go on the defensive in his BMW M4 GT3 Evo in an effort to thwart Jewiss and his barrage of overtake manoeuvres. Despite being nose to tail as they started the final 3.661-mile lap, Harper did just enough to take the chequered flag first – by six-tenths of a second – and spark wild celebrations. 'The strategy was a gamble at the beginning – but we had seen in qualifying and Darren's opening stint that we weren't going to win this race on pace alone, so had to try something different,' reflected Harper, who returns to action at Laguna Seca in under a fortnight's time. 'The guys made that decision and it didn't always look like it was going to pay off, but we got some luck in our favour, which is something you will always need in a race like this. 'I knew it was Kiern behind me, and having raced with him during our Ginetta days, I was fully aware of what he is capable of. 'I know how good he is, so I was really under pressure. 'The guys in the garage were updating me every lap on the gap – I could see him coming. 'I was just praying that the GT4 cars would be kind to me – and on this occasion they were. 'I knew I just had to make the car as wide as possible whenever he got close to me,' he added. 'I think the BMW's strength is its ability to defend against other cars and first was not something I was going to give up easily.' Meanwhile, Chris Smiley opened his Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship account at Donington Park in strong fashion by scoring Independent wins in races two and three having brought his Restart Racing Hyundai home 10th overall earlier in the day.

Lamborghini to narrow customer team focus when new Temerario GT3 arrives
Lamborghini's technical director Rouven Mohr has revealed that a new approach to customer GT racing will be adopted by the Italian brand next year when the Temerario GT3 makes its debut. 'We have changed our philosophy a little bit. In the future, we want to concentrate more on performance-oriented teams where the ambition fits ours,' Mohr said. 'Less, in this case, is more. In the past, we were a bit wider spread. In the future, because the level of GT3 is very competitive, we want to concentrate our support with the maximum level of support to fewer teams than in the past.' Lamborghini is fresh from a hugely successful 2024 season with the Huracan GT3 EVO II. Highlights included a dominant British GT Championship title win with Barwell Motorsport and a maiden DTM championship triumph with German team SSR Performance. The current car clearly has a lot still to give, thus, the Italian marque feels a commitment to 'quality over quantity' for the rollout of its forthcoming flagship customer GT car makes the most sense. There will be a phased introduction for the new car into key championships – with programs in Europe, Asia and North America targeted. However, concrete decisions are still yet to be made on which teams will receive cars first and where they will race. A final judgement, according to Mohr, will come after Q3 this year while the Temerario GT3 is undergoing testing. 'It all depends on how fast the progress of the car is, what the strengths are,' he continued. 'The first step is on our shoulders then for sure later we will bring teams on board and then it depends a little bit which championships we are targeting. 'You can be sure that in the middle of the year, we will see test activities. This is something we take very seriously because, on one hand, we are not in a hurry to replace the current car, but on the other, requests for new GT3 cars on our side, are immense. And since the Huracan is running out of production, for sure, we are not bringing additional race cars more or less, on the grid.' An obvious choice for 2026 would be to debut the car at IMSA's blue-riband endurance event, the Rolex 24 Hours At Daytona, in January. At this point, though, Mohr feels it's too early to say whether or not that would be possible. 'I wouldn't say it's the idea, but it would be a dream,' he said. 'Sometimes dreams come true, sometimes not. If you ask me if we would like to, 'yes', but it has to make sense. 'We are not going to Daytona if we have too many problems we know about. To start at Daytona with a new car is a tough challenge. Some manufacturers decide to skip Daytona and enter a bit later.' It's also too early to speculate whether or not we will see Lamborghini back in the FIA WEC's LMGT3 class any time soon. Following its exit from the ACO and FIA's globetrotting championship at the end of the 2024 season, Mohr downplayed suggestions that the Temerario GT3 will line up on the grid at the first opportunity. 'Unfortunately, it depends on LMDh. There is a link,' he said. 'It's not for granted that you can run the GT3 without LMDh. We are focused on the programmes we have today. And for sure next year with the Temerario GT3 it will only be on selected race series because it's the learning curve of the car. 'We will go step by step. At the moment, if you ask me, LMGT3, I would say 'no' even if you can say never say never. I think it's too early to do it. If we are in WEC it's a different story but to be honest, let's see. First, we consider an improvement of the LMDh, then if we are competitive and we find interest from a team to re-enter WEC, then let's see. LMGT3 is the third question.' Before the Temerario arrives there's the not-so-small matter of the 2025 season to get through. Lamborghini will continue to have a presence in GT World Challenge Europe's Pro class this year, and the Huracan GT3 EVO II will compete in both Intercontinental GT Challenge 24-hour races at Spa-Francorchamps and the Nürburgring. At least one car and team will be entered into each of the two races, which will be held back-to-back in June, the weekend after the Le Mans 24 Hours. Mohr also stressed that Lamborghini 'has no ambition to cut' its DTM program after winning the 2024 title. Story originally appeared on Racer
