Lisa Ann Walter Opens Up About Having Children ‘Just Out of College': ‘Been a Mother as Long as I've Been an Adult' (Exclusive)

Lisa Ann Walter exclusively chats with PEOPLE about having her first child straight after graduating from college The Abbott Elementary star says that's she's been a mother just "as long as I've been an adult" The mom of four shares she's "pretty adept" at wrangling together little onesLisa Ann Walter is a professional when it comes to parenting. While chatting with PEOPLE on the red carpet for the 2025 Disney Upfronts on Tuesday, May 13, the Parent Trap alum, 61, opened up about how her role in Abbott Elementary is impacted by being a mom. Walter shares that she's "been a mother as long as I've been an adult," which makes her "pretty adept" at wrangling together little children. "I'm a mother of four, so I've been a mother as long as I've been an adult. I had my first child when I was just out of college, so there isn't much about being around children that's new to me," she tells PEOPLE. "I feel like it prepares you when you're used to being a mother and wrangling. I have four kids. That's a lot these days, so wrangling children is something I'm pretty adept at." "I think between me, [Sheryl Lee Ralph], and [Janelle James], who are all parents, we're pretty good at it, so nothing new, but definitely get to use my skills." Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Elsewhere in the conversation, the proud mother of four revealed how she celebrated her Mother's Day weekend. While she had to stay in town to prepare for the event, she tells PEOPLE that she took some time to see an "absolutely incredible" play on Broadway. "I was here in town because I came from doing stand up in Buffalo, so I came straight here to get ready for the Upfronts, and I went to see Death Becomes Her," she says. "I hung out with my daughter, and it was wonderful, absolutely incredible, best show I've seen since Wicked." The Abbott Elementary star was married to her first husband, Sam Baum, from 1986 to 1999. The couple welcomed two children during their marriage: daughter Delia, 32, and son Jordan, 36. She later gave birth to her youngest children, twin sons Spencer and Simon, 24, with her second husband, whose name is unknown. The Bruce Almighty actress took two years off her career to care for her eldest child until her ex-husband saw she was bored and encouraged her to return to stand-up. 'I definitely know what it's like to be a working mother — I was doing standup comedy three days before Delia was born,' she said during a March 2023 episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden. 'And I was nursing her between two shows every night.' During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Friday, April 12, Walter detailed the differences in raising each of her kids and how her twin boys required her to take on an additional role. "The twins, the youngest ones, I had to kind of be the father figure to them because their dad wasn't as involved," Walter said. "My older two, the dad is great... but the younger ones didn't have that, so I filled in for that." "People think if you're in a movie or they know you from something, that you're a gazillionaire. Sheryl Lee Ralph and I had a similar situation coming up. Because [audiences] see Sister Act 2, or they see The Parent Trap, they think we're making money every time that airs. It's not like that," she explained. "We were both struggling single mothers in a very expensive town of Los Angeles." Read the original article on People

‘What took them so long?': Fans are furious as they discover Jennifer Aniston's stalker was harassing her for 2 years

Stalking and vandalism charges have been filed against a Mississippi man after he crashed his car into the front gates of Hollywood star Jennifer Aniston's home in Bel Air, according to Los Angeles District Attorney's office. (Also read: Jennifer Aniston was home when man rammed car into her LA home; actor's security held him at gunpoint before arrest) According to Variety, District Attorney Nathan Hotchman said, 'Stalking is a crime that can quickly escalate from harassment to dangerous, violent actions, threatening the safety of victims and our communities. My office is committed to aggressively prosecuting those who stalk and terrorize others, ensuring they are held accountable.' According to the DA, Jimmy Wayne Carwyle was charged with one count of felony stalking and one count of felony vandalism. Jimmy, 48, was arrested after he drove into the entrance of the Friends star's USD 21 million Los Angeles home around noon. Jimmy is set to be produced in front of the court on May 8 and his bail set at USD 150,000. If convicted, Jimmy could serve three years in prison. The report also stated that Jimmy was accused of harassing Jennifer from March 1, 2023, to May 5 of 2025. He was repeatedly sending her unsolicited emails, voicemails and social media messages. Fans reacted to the development and expressed their exasperation over the whole incident. "What took them so long to arrest him?" said one social media user. Another user said, 'Wow that sucks. I'm glad they got him'. Another user wrote, 'People have lost their minds'. Jennifer Aniston rose to fame after she played much loved character Rachel Greene on the superhit sitcom Friends which also starred David Schwimmer, Courtney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc. Apart from that, she is also known for starring many romantic comedies in 2000s and 2010s, like Rumour Has It, Bruce Almighty, Just Go With It to name a few. Her current project include starring and producing the Apple TV+ series The Morning Show.

Man detained after crashing through Jennifer Aniston's front gate while she was home: police

An elderly man crashed his vehicle through the front gates of Friends star Jennifer Aniston's house in Bel Air on Monday afternoon while the actress was at home, police say. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told The Independent that its officers were called to Aniston's 10,000 square foot pad at 12:20 p.m. by reports of a burglary. An adult white male had crashed his vehicle through the gates of the property before being hauled out of the car and detained by a private security guard, the spokesperson said. Offers took the man into custody and are still investigating whether the crash was accidental or deliberate. Local broadcaster KABC put the man's age at 70 years old, and said Aniston was at home during the incident. Sources close to the news outlet said the man appeared to have a minor criminal history, but they had not yet found any signs he was targeting Aniston in particular. According to reports, Aniston bought the midcentury modern Bel Air manor for $21 million in 2012. Built in 1965 by the well-known architect A. Quincy Jones, it sits on a 3.4 acre lot atop a hill with sweeping ocean and city views, and at the time of purchase it had a guesthouse, swimming pool, and vineyards. In 2015 Aniston, whose net worth was estimated to be around $200m by Forbes in 2017, married fellow actor Justin Theroux at the house, living there together for three years before divorcing in 2018. The estate is just up the road from another house owned by superstar actress Meg Ryan, who listed it for sale in 2012. Aniston, now 56, shot to fame in the 90s and early 2000s for her role as Rachel in the seminal NBC sitcom Friends, before starring in numerous Hollywood films including Bruce Almighty (2003), He's Just Not That Into You (2009), and Horrible Bosses (2011).

Netflix viewers mourn as ‘best film of all time' is removed from platform this month

Netflix subscribers are not happy after the platform announced it is removing one of its most popular films, which it added less than three months ago. Every month, the world's largest streaming service shakes up its catalog of movies and TV series. This month, films like Baby Driver and Bruce Almighty were removed, as well as numerous Dr. Seuss movies, like The Cat in the Hat and The Lorax. However, the removal of one hugely popular sci-fi film incited outrage among viewers. Christopher Nolan's 2014 classic Interstellar was removed from the platform on April 1, but this may not reflect its popularity. Read More Related Articles Donald Trump branded 'disgusting' as he honors Pope Francis in 'baffling' way Read More Related Articles Russia invasion fears prompt evacuation plan in European city home to 540,000 It seems Netflix removed the movie due to expiring licensing agreements, suggesting that factors beyond its popularity, like licensing costs and availability, also played a role. The movie landed on Netflix on January 1, 2025, a month after its theatrical re-release in December 2024. However, according to Mandatory, Warner Bros. had signed a limited-period streaming agreement with Netflix, which has now expired. Therefore, the movie will no longer be included in its roster. Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, David Oyelowo in "Interstellar" (Image: Paramount Pictures) The removal of the film starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway confused users, many of whom claimed they had watched the movie multiple times and couldn't understand why something so popular was leaving. Interstellar involves a group of astronauts traveling through a wormhole in search of another inhabitable planet, as humanity teeters on the edge of extinction. It has an 87% score on Rotten Tomatoes and has been highly praised by film critics. According to the Netflix website, 'Whenever a TV show or movie license is expiring, we consider things such as: If the rights to the title are still available, how popular it is in a region, and how much it costs to license.' Matthew McConaughey fans will want to act fast if they want to watch another of the actor's top-rated films. The Oscar-winning Dallas Buyers Club is also set to leave Netflix on May 1. Other cult classic films, including Blade Runner: The Final Cut, Miss Congeniality, and Erin Brockovich, starring Julia Roberts, will soon be unavailable. But subscribers needn't worry—there is plenty of new content coming to Netflix that is sure to fill the gap. For example, season 7 of Black Mirror and the final season of the mystery-thriller series You recently dropped. For the latest local news and features on Irish America, visit our homepage here .

We hope you love our recommendations! Some may have been sent as samples, but all were independently selected by our editors. Just FYI, BuzzFeed and its publishing partners may collect a share of sales and/or other compensation from the links on this page. Shopping · If you're like me and have been working from home for years now, it's probably time to upgrade your office space. 1. A motivational daily planner that's designed with un-dated pages, so you can use it whenever you'd like and keep track of the days you're feeling extra chaotic. Each sheet also includes areas for you to take notes on water intake, fitness goals, achievements, gratitude, and even the occasional doodle! My sister swears by these planners, and she's a Capricorn, so you know she means business when it comes to being organized. Each planner is created with 50 tear-off sheets. Promising review:"These daily planning sheets keep this mama on TRACK! I started out printing daily planning and schedule sheets from a free download on my computer. Then I realized why not just buy some already printed so I save my ink at home. I found these and love how the day, schedule, tasks, and health habits are organized. I've already reordered once and will continue to use these." — Shannon Hoglund Get it from Amazon for $9.99+ (available in eight styles). Bliss Collections is a family-owned, Wisconsin-based small business that offers a range of stationery and other homegoods. 2. A wireless keyboard and mouse set if you work from home and want to bring a *very cool* aesthetic to your DIY office. It makes an almost cartoonish but very satisfying clacking sound that absolutely makes it seem like you're Jim Carrey typing in Bruce Almighty. And who's to say you aren't hard at work?! Check out a TikTok of the keyboard in action. BTW, the mouse and keyboard require AA batteries! Promising review:"Absolutely amazing keyboard. Colors are eye-catching and make a drab office pop with color! I am currently the envy of the office. Ladies in the other departments are waiting on their own to come in now after seeing mine. Easy plug/play. It travels between home and office with me. Love the keys on this as well. Sleep mode seems to pop on kinda quick, but it's nothing bad. Just push a button or click the mouse and it's on again. I have had mine for about a month now and will not be going back to any other style!" — Nikki Bell Get it from Amazon for $26.99+ (available in 13 styles). 3. An electric mug warmer for anyone who frequently brews a hot cup of java or tea and then sits down to work, completely forgetting about it. This will help keep your hot beverages HOT even hours later when you finally have time to actually drink them! BTW, some reviewers suggest turning the heat to medium once you're halfway done with your drink, so it stays a comfortable temperature! Check it out on TikTok! BuzzFeed editor Jenae Sitzes wishes she had bought it sooner: "After seeing this coffee warmer all over BuzzFeed Shopping and even gifting my dad one for Christmas, I finally decided to buy one for myself. Based on all the reviews, I was pretty confident I'd soon be kicking myself for not getting it sooner, and that proved to be true: This thing not only looks good but works great for keeping my coffee warm all day long. (Because yes, I'm one of those people who'll sip on coffee until 5 p.m., all right!!) I was kind of worried it'd be too small for some of my larger mugs, but the center plate is bigger than expected and accommodated every mug in my (very eclectic) collection perfectly. I can confirm that flat-bottomed mugs are the best option for using with this warmer as they do stay hotter, but it still keeps my concave-bottom mugs warm enough for my taste. Also, I looove how sleek the white version looks on my white desk, and the auto-shutoff function is a nice safety feature as an absent-minded person." Get it from Amazon for $19.99+ (available in two styles, five colors, and as a set with a mug). 4. An adjustable standing desk designed with a convenient electronic motor so you can seamlessly transition to standing up if sitting down for too long tends to make you less productive. The height can be adjusted from 28 inches to 47.6 inches, and each desk is created with an industrial-grade steel frame and solid wood desktop that can hold up to 154 pounds. Promising review:"The sit-to-stand option is amazing, and I'm so happy with my desk. I lead video conferences all day, so the option to sit or stand has made working a breeze. No more back/neck soreness or feeling 'blah' after a long day of sitting. I got the slightly larger size and am glad that I did. It gives me space for double monitors, keyboard, and any papers I need to have in front of me. Overall, I'm a satisfied customer and recommend this desk to anyone who wants to make the switch to standing desks on a budget!" — Sasha K. Get it from Amazon for $169.99+ (available in six sizes and nine colors). 5. Orrrr, if you love your current desk, a sit-to-stand converter that sits right on top! It's designed with a pneumatic lift assist, so you don't have to manually adjust the converter or move anything just to switch things up. Here's what BuzzFeeder Courtney Lynch has to say: "About a year into working remotely due to the pandemic, I finally decided it was time to invest in a standing desk for my home office. I already had a desk I wasn't ready to part with, so I bought this sit-to-stand desk converter. Let me tell you, this has changed my WFH experience for the better. The desktop area is large enough for my laptop, external monitor, Bluetooth speaker, and a few other items. The desktop can hold up to 33 pounds, and the keyboard tray can support up to 4 pounds. The pneumatic lift assist feature lets you adjust the height between 4.5–20 inches in one smooth motion that won't strain your back." Promising review: " This has made life SO MUCH BETTER!!! I hate sitting down all day, hunched and reaching for my keyboard and mouse. While I'm sitting down, this helps correct poor posture. When I need to stand/move a bit, I can lift it up and work standing! This is a great invention and is very sturdy." — Andrew Drozdowski Get it from Amazon for $135.99+ (available in seven sizes and nine colors). 6. *OR* this portable laptop riser if you tend to work from your couch and/or coffee table most days, so your favorite 20-plus season drama can play in the background while you respond to emails. This stand can be used while sitting or standing and is suitable to hold a lot of different tech from 10-inch tablets to 17-inch gaming laptops! Promising review: "I was literally shocked at the solid construction of this stand right out of the box. Most things nowadays are not crafted with love and are made very cheaply. Wow. This product is worth every dollar. Amazing craftsmanship. Looks great too! Very strong and sturdy. If you're looking for a high-quality stand, you've found it. Buy it." — ARH Get it from Amazon for $59.99+ (available in three metal finishes). 7. A Rocketbook smart reusable notebook — it's earned over 52,000 5-star ratings for how convenient it is compared to having a stack of half-filled notebooks. With this, you can use the app to scan and send your pages immediately after writing them to cloud services like Slack, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and more! Imagine not having to pore through a notebook's worth of meeting notes and instead refer to your convenient electronic file! Promising review:"This is such a neat item. It's so nice to be able to take notes and not have a million sticky notes around or a ton of notebooks. Had no trouble setting up one icon to email my notes to and I set up another to send to myself in the iMessage app. A standard Pilot Ballpoint pen will NOT smudge in the least (and can be 'erased' using an alcohol prep pad!). Also have found that the Pilot Frixion gel pens write beautifully and erase cleanly!" — cjsbabygirl Get it from Amazon for $27.10+ (available in two sizes and 16 colors). 8. A ventilated cable management box, so you can put all those tangled cords out of sight without having to rearrange all your electronics. Trust me, you'll be so grateful to not be tripping over cords every time you walk into your office. Amazon Promising review:" A must-buy product for your messy home or office. Exactly what I was looking for to help save space and hide my cable cords." — Andrew Olson Get it from Amazon for $15.99. 9. A 360-degree rotating headphone holder, which is a serious game-changer if you like to wear over-the-ear headphones to vibe out or tune into team meetings at work. With this, you can easily store your headphones under or on the side of your desk so they don't end up misplaced! I have these and I love them, TBQH. Currently, I am using mine to hold my over-the-ear headphones on my bookshelf, but I have previously used them to hold my embroidery bag (which it did!), the ring for my Nintendo Ring Fit game, and even a camera bag. It would also probably be great for storing extra-length of cords when not in use! Promising reviews:" This is worth more than its cost. The mount actually comes with an extra sticky pad so if you choose to remove/move the mount to somewhere else, you can do at your own leisure. The quality of the material doesn't feel too cheap, and it's quite sturdy. We've bumped into it a couple of times, but it hasn't broken or anything. The mount is extremely versatile in its flexibility and possible mounting options. Best I've seen out of other compact options (that aren't gaming headphone stands that take desk space)." — Forest Nguyen "I have a white desk and a light gray chair, and this headphone hanger matches the design perfectly. The quality and simple hinged design is brilliant. The adhesive is very strong, provided you clean the surface before applying and let it cure for 24 hours before hanging anything on it." — Henry Ting Get it from Amazon for $11.99+ (available in black and white). 10. A keyboard cleaning gel — if you don't have crumbs in your keyboard or on your desk space, please share your secrets with the rest of us remote workers! But if you do, this reusable gel can be pressed onto the keyboard to get deep between the keys to get ahold of all those crumbs, dirt, and even dust blocking your keys from functioning at their absolute best. Promising review:"Working from home like a lot of people I eat at my desk. Crumbs were getting everywhere. Plus my cat loved to lay on my keyboard if I was using my laptop. It does such a great job of getting fur and crumbs up. I used a little bit at first because some of the reviews were saying it was sticking. But I didn't have that problem at all. It only now it's sticking to my keyboard and hands more. But that makes sense it's just a glob if junk. So much better than an air can. A must-have for all office desks." — Ashley Get it from Amazon for $5.91. 11. A TikTok-viral padded office chair, which features a seat wide enough for you to sit crisscross or with one leg up, along with an adjustable height an ergonomic cushioned back. Check it out on TikTok here! As a bigger person, it can be hard to find a chair that I trust to hold all my weight without collapsing that is *also* comfortable and affordable. THIS CHAIR IS IT. I love this chair. I wish I worked in my home office more, just so I could sit in this chair (but my couch is fantastic LOL). When I teach for hours at a time and days at a time, this chair comes in handy because I can comfortably sit with one leg crossed underneath me. I love it, and everyone I know who has visited me and sat in this incredible chair also loves it. Promising review:"Buy this chair. I've bought so many office chairs over the years. The classic Goldilocks story: This one's too bulky, this one's too flimsy, that one has too much hard plastic, yada yada. I think this one might be it. Really comfortable, solid build, attractive, but the best feature is the wide seat. I can crisscross my legs easily to relieve the pressure in my hips, which is life-changing if you're chained to your desk sitting in meetings all day." — Larissa Harrison Get it from Amazon for $152.99+ (available in five styles). 12. OR an ergonomic kneeling chair made to help keep your spine aligned while you sit at your desk all day, so you don't clock out and spend all your free time looking up different remedies for lower back pain. 😩 Amazon It's designed to hold up to 250 pounds. Read more about how ergonomic chairs can help at Cleveland Clinic. Promising review: "I'm a 225-pound solid dude; back was killing me. Got this chair. Took me a week or so to build up the muscles in my shins to get used to the new weight distribution; my pain is GONE. Love this chair; plan on getting a fancier one down the road, but I'm very happy with this." — AHR_Artist Get it from Amazon for $99.99 (available in three colors). 13. A 24-inch monitor, so you can finally experience the wonder of having TWO screens instead of using just your laptop. Keep Slack and your email open on one screen while you complete your work on the other so you don't miss a single notification even when you're in the zone! It boasts a 75Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution, making it perfectly suitable for gaming (SIMS on two screens? Yes please!). It also is designed with two HDMI ports for connecting, and if you have a MacBook, make sure you nab a USB-C hub! Promising reviews: " If you work from home, you must have this in your life! Super easy to set up, great packaging, great quality, great price. I absolutely LOVE this!" — RR "Just set this monitor up, and so far it's earned all 5 stars! It was easy to assemble, it's compatible with my MacBook Pro (with a USB-C adapter), and the picture is great! Nice design and very practical. It solves all of my problems as it can go any direction. It's worth every penny. I turned around and bought two more. I am about to buy my fourth one. Love this!" — Pond P. Get it from Amazon for $19.99 (available in four colors). iJoy is a small business creating unique and functional tech accessories. 16. I usually wear contacts and like the freedom of being able to take these off without going blind throughout the day (my prescription glasses have blue light coating too but I don't always want to wear them all day long). The style is so cute (love the tortoiseshell!) and they're super comfortable. This brand always delivers. Highly recommend!!" — Molly Get it from Amazon for $16.99 (available in three colors). WearMe Pro is an Arizona-based, family-owned small business offering a selection of affordable and trendy eyewear. 19. Plus, a unique display stand designed in a whimsical style, so you can stop forgetting where you put your readers or blue light-blocking glasses. Ummmm, need it! Promising review:"I really like this mat — I've had it for several months now, and it hasn't faded or scuffed at all. A USB-powered laptop cooling pad with three fans to help keep your laptop from sounding like it will explode at any moment just because you've been hard at work for HOURS and one more internet tab might be its breaking point. 😳 Promising review:"This works extremely well. With this product that diminished, and I don't have to worry about the fans kicking up that loud ever again...I fully recommend this product just as it was recommended to me by a friend with a similar laptop problem. I honestly don't ever see this product failing to support my demands." — Kaleb Urquhart Get it from Amazon for $27.99 (available in three colors). 22. An acrylic wall calendar and notes board, so you can create the most beautiful and organized command center anyone has ever seen. Whether you mount this in your office, the hallway, entryway, or kitchen — you and the entire household can easily keep track of the date, deadlines, upcoming projects, and more without any hassle! A space-saving ladder desk just perfect for anyone who prefers a minimalist aesthetic or needs to set up a WFH office in a tiny (or crowded) apartment. It might not be as comfortable as your bed has been, but this bookcase-style desk allows you to be productive without having to take up an entire room's worth of space to do so. Promising review:"I had this blank corner in my living room, and I just knew this ladder desk would be a gorgeous addition to the area. I don't have an extra room for an office or even the kind of space in our small home to designate to a bulky desk. It was very easy to assemble. It took maybe 25 minutes to put together. I love having my own spot to get my work done on my MacBook. Plus, this spot is perfect to work on any crafts/DIYs. I added a pouf seat instead of a chair just to save even more space since it easily slides underneath the desk. Anyway, I'm so stoked about this purchase! Promising reviews: "I've been working from home due to COVID and began experiencing wrist pain. The soft cushion from both items provided the relief I needed. Great products and price!" — Gaga2015 "Having worked from home for almost a year now without any ergonomic cushion, I finally decided to buy this and so glad I did. They come with stickers that you can place to avoid movement but so far they don't seem necessary... The mouse pad cushion feels perfect! I appreciate not having the ball of my palm resting against a hard surface all day long. This also isn't sliding around on the desk. Feels perfect. These cushions have a great memory foam feel but not so much that they are very sensitive to the touch, they mostly keep their shape." — UAstudentn Get it from Amazon for $11.97+ (available in 13 colors/prints). 26. Promising reviews:"I always thought that putting something in front of your camera was reserved for government paranoid people, but 1. that is a real worry and 2. this thing comes in handy for everyday life too. I work at an organization that uses a lot of conference lines with external clients and having this manual option to prevent others from seeing my video is such a nice peace of mind. LOVE a great product like this! It'll also help keep dust out of your keys, which helps prevent them from sticking later on, so definitely worth it...I wish they made these when I spilled FroYo on my laptop in high school and got rainbow sprinkles stuck in my keys. 🙃 Promising review: "I love this keyboard cover. It has a nice feeling, is very flexible, and it fits like a glove on my MacBook Air. It doesn't come off even when I'm moving my laptop around a lot (which I do, since I do a lot of work on the sofa or the bed where I end up in weird positions to be comfortable). I can feel each key individually when I hit them, which is really nice. I haven't seen any signs of wear or even fading in the six months I've had it. This is a very durable keyboard — I eat with my laptop all the time, and I've actually spilled coffee on my keyboard once, and nothing happened — it actually kind of kept the liquid there until I could clean it off." — Sadia Rahman Get it from Amazon for $6.99 (available in 27 colors). 33. I need to use all six plugs, plus I like to keep my phone and MiFi charging while working too.
