KUALA LUMPUR: A total of RM598,970 in summons collections was successfully recorded during the discount initiative held at the police Hari Raya celebration at Titiwangsa Stadium last Monday. Bukit Aman Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said 950 individuals settled 5,362 summonses during the event. "We also welcome Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution's proposal to expand the use of MyDigital ID in traffic summons payments," he said when contacted by Harian Metro today. Previously, it was reported that police supported the government's suggestion for MyDigital ID integration for summons payments. Saifuddin said although usage of the application is not compulsory, it aligns with national digitalisation policy and is encouraged. He added that the government has agreed to amend the National Registration Act 1959 to facilitate the broader adoption of MyDigital ID.

Police support using MyDigital ID platform to pay traffic summonses
KUALA LUMPUR: Police support the government's suggestion to introduce the MyDigital ID platform for traffic summons payments. Bukit Aman Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the initiative, though still in the proposal stage, is expected to positively impact motorists once implemented. "Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail proposed incentivising the use of MyDigital ID for traffic summons payments as part of a government effort to digitise identity verification processes. "This means that future MyDigital ID users will receive an additional five percent discount on top of those offered during special periods," he told the 'New Straits Times'. He said this would encourage more motorists to settle their summonses. "The platform offers a secure and efficient way for users to make payments." Police expect the initiative to reduce queues and congestion at traffic counters, especially during discount periods. He added that his department offers the myBayar PDRM platform, launched in 2021, providing online summons review and payment services. "The platform can still handle current user transactions. "By integrating information through MyGov, it encourages public access via MyDigital ID, promoting a unified government gateway. "The department will continue to enhance its services through an online platform, aligned with the mission 'Polis dan Masyarakat Berpisah Tiada'. Saifuddin earlier proposed offering incentives for using MyDigital ID to pay traffic summons. He said future dealings with the department will offer incentives to those registered with MyDigital ID. "Previously, the department offered discounts of up to 50 per cent on summonses. For MyDigital ID users, the discount may increase to 55 per cent." He said this at the police Hari Raya celebration at Titiwangsa Stadium.
