Georgia Toffolo is a known fan of Medik8's skincare products, and her latest find is touted as one of the most powerful vitamin C serums around for reducing signs of ageing One celebrity who's always been very open about her skincare journey is Georgia Toffolo, with the former Made in Chelsea star sharing her struggles with acne over the years. However one brand that she's always sworn by for helping keep her skin looking youthful, smooth and radiant is Medik8. In one of her latest Instagram videos, she took followers along to track down one of the brand's latest launches; the C-Tetra Advanced Serum. In the Instagram video, Toff wrote: 'Looking for one of the most powerful vitamin C's on the market?' before leading her followers over to her new skincare staple. In the video, Toff added that the new serum is a 'gel based serum that brightens and firms skin', and 'An upgrade of my trusted vitamin C, the C-Tetra Luxe serum – the texture is divine.' The latest addition to Medik8's impressive skincare roster will set you back £69 for a 30ml bottle, with the new C-Tetra Advanced Serum combining 20% vitamin C and cutting edge phyto exosomes together. Together, they help to shield and improve your skin's natural recovery from environmental stressors which cause premature ageing, helping slow down signs like fine lines and wrinkles. Said to make visible changes in as little as seven days, the serum helps to brighten and smooth your skin tone, whilst slowing down the effects of free radicals on your skin, leaving it looking more youthful for longer. Whilst Toff touted it as one of the most powerful on the market, we did spot this 25% Vitamin C + Glutathione Clinical Serum which has an even higher 25% concentration of vitamin C, and is currently on sale for £48.80 down from £61. You can also pick up the Pai Skincare Stabilised Vitamin C 20% Serum for £13.30, down from £19 at Face the Future. For those after something a little less intense, Dr Althea's Gentle Vitamin C Serum (£19.99) contains 20% hippophae rhamnoides fruit water, which is perfect for delicate skin, whilst The INKEY List's 15% Vitamin C + EGF Serum (£15) features a lower dosage of vitamin C. However the 20% stabilised vitamin C in Medik8's C-Tetra Advanced Serum has been designed to be both highly potent and gentle on skin, with several reviewers saying it didn't aggravate their skin or leave it feeling sensitive. It also contains multi-weight hyaluronic acid and N-Acetyl glucosamine (NAG) which hydrates your skin and restores the skin barrier. Toff finished off her video showing how to use the serum, with two to three pumps being plenty for your face, neck and décolletage, as she added it felt 'super lightweight' and 'glides onto your skin'. 'People ask if I've had Botox or fillers, and I say no, it's the amazing products of Medik8' Medik8 has carved out a reputation for its effective, high-performance skincare, winning over beauty editors, skincare professionals and fans alike. The brand claims that the multi-peptide complex provides a 'filler-like effect' while also supporting long-term collagen production. Judging by the reviews, it's clearly working - the product has racked up an impressive 4.9-star rating with shoppers. One reviewer said: "Using it morning and night, my skin looks and feels nourished, plumper and smoother. Using Medik8 products has significantly improved my skin. People ask if I've had Botox or fillers, and I say no, it's the amazing products of Medik8." Another chimed in: "This product is unbelievably effective. Almost overnight, my wrinkles smoothed out and my skin had an amazing glow, never before achieved with a topical product. I am now about a quarter through my first bottle, and I can honestly say the difference is remarkable." However, someone else said: "Too runny, and no noticeable improvement. Nothing special." For those curious about peptides but want to explore other options, there are several highly rated alternatives available. The Ordinary's Multi-Peptide + HA Serum (£15.90) is a budget-friendly favourite that combines peptides with hydrating hyaluronic acid. Otherwise, Paula's Choice Pro-Collagen Multi-Peptide Booster (£46.40, originally £58) is a silky booster that can be mixed into moisturiser or used alone to improve firmness and fine lines. It has been clinically proven to visibly smooth lines in 15 minutes and visibly firm, plump, and reduce wrinkles in a month. Back to the Medik8 sale, another standout is my personal favourite: C-Tetra Luxe, down to £47.20 from £59. This vitamin C serum is a staple in my morning routine thanks to its fast-absorbing texture and visible brightening effects. Medik8 uses a stabilised form of vitamin C called tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, which they claim delivers visible radiance after just one use. It also has a strong 4.9-star rating, proving its effectiveness. A shopper wrote: "Amazing results. My skin feels refreshed, I use this every morning and it has improved the dark marks on my skin and made my skin look more even toned, and it has improved the brightness of my skin." Someone else left a mixed review, noting: "I love this product. It makes my skin look bright and firm. However, this serum is quite oily for my combined skin type, so I use 2-3 drops only during the cold season." Someone else added: "Love this stuff. It's been a game-changer for my skin. ‘This new vitamin C serum is the only one that doesn't irritate my problem skin'
'I've been testing out this new skin-brightening vitamin C serum for months and can confirm it's a game-changer for blemish-prone skin like mine,' says our beauty editor Skin experts agree that vitamin C is one of the best skincare ingredients you can add to your routine, proven to be effective at brightening and evening the skin, defending against future damage, and tackling other signs of ageing. Vitamin C serums and creams, though, aren't always tolerated well by all skin types, including sensitive or spot-prone complexions – both of which apply to me. However, I've been testing Medik8's brand new serum, and it's a game-changer for problem skin like mine. Medik8 already makes a few hugely popular vitamin C serums, including the original C-Tetra (a longtime favourite with beauty editors) and C-Tetra Luxe (which has a richer texture). However, both of these are oil-based consistencies, which can block pores in blemish-prone – something I've certainly found in the past. Now Medik8 has just launched its C-Tetra Advanced serum, priced at £69, an effective formula containing 20% stabilised vitamin C in a gel-serum texture, designed to get visibly brighter skin and reduced wrinkles in just seven days. I received a bottle of Medik8 C-Tetra Advanced a few weeks ago ahead of its launch and I've been using it almost every morning since. I was a little dubious about trying it as Medik8's existing vitamin Cs haven't been right for me, but I was so pleasantly surprised by this one; the formula is like a very light, runny cream instead of an oil, sinks into skin quickly, and layers brilliantly with my other skincare and make-up products (I currently follow it with Medik8's brilliant Total Moisture Daily Facial Cream and my favourite Ultra Violette Future Fluid SPF 50+ Superlight Mineral SKINSCREEN). It did give a slight immediate brightening and evening out effect to my face, but it was about about a week of using it that I really started to notice a difference: my skin felt my much softer and smoother, looked generally more healthy, and my foundation looked fresher and less patchy. I didn't also get any breakouts or irritation (use it every other day at first if you're unsure). Of course, other factors may have affected this result, but I'm thrilled to have finally found a high-performance vitamin C serum that suits my skin. One point I'd flag is that it's not as hydrating as soon of my other favourite serums; usually I can go straight from serum to SPF in the mornings, but using this, I do need to apply a moisturiser in between. For this reason I think that this new launch is best for those with combination-to-oily skin, while anyone with dry skin should probably go for one of Medik8's other vitamin Cs (there's a handy tool on the website to help you to decide which is right for you). C-Tetra Advanced is also quite highly fragranced (probably because vitamin C doesn't usually smell very pleasant); this isn't something I have an issue with, but if you're skin is very sensitive to scent, you may want to go for something like CeraVe Skin Renewing 10% Pure Vitamin C Serum, £29. If you're looking for more alternatives, Facetheory Glow-C Vitamin C 20% Serum contains the same level of vitamin C (20%) but even cheaper at £23.
