SRM Institute of Science and Technology signs MoU with Officers Training Academy
To provide specialised training to officer cadets with a diploma programme in Information and Technology and Cyber Security, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Officers Training Academy (OTA). The MoU was signed with OTA, Chennai, as a mark of academic and strategic collaboration. 'The collaboration is designed to empower cadets with cutting-edge knowledge in electronic and AI-enabled information warfare, aligning with the evolving landscape of modern defense operations,' according to a press release. Nearly 500 cadets will be trained annually, which will help in improving the country's defence capabilities with academic intervention, the release said. Lieutenant General Fernandes, Commandant, OTA, and C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice Chancellor, SRMIST signed the MoU.

Tamil Nadu Startup Summit to be held on April 24
Tamil Nadu Startup Summit-25, organised by The Hindu and co-presented by StartupTN in association with Sify Technologies, is all set to be held on April 24 at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur. The summit will bring together leading voices from the government, industry, academia and the startup ecosystem. The day-long event aims at fostering innovation, driving investment and empowering startups across the State and beyond. Several dignitaries will take part in the summit. This includes C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice-Chancellor, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, AR Unnikrishnan, Chairman, CII Tamil Nadu State Council and Managing Director, Saint-Gobain India Private Limited (Glass Group), and Sivarajah Ramanathan, Mission Director and Chief Executive Officer, Tamil Nadu Startup and Innovation Mission. The event will begin with a keynote address by Atul Anand, Additional Chief Secretary, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. The summit will conclude with a valedictory address by T. M. Anbarasan, Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board. The summit will cover a range of topics, including building a Diverse Startup Ecosystem with a focus on inclusion and gender equality, Harnessing Innovation: Tamil Nadu's Role in the Global Startup Ecosystem, nurturing Entrepreneurship in South Tamil Nadu, Digital Transformation and Cybersecurity and a deep dive into HealthTech innovations. With participation from startup founders, investors, educators, policymakers, and thought leaders, the summit will serve as a prelude to the upcoming Global Startup Summit being planned by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
