Stinky spray causes chaos at carnival, a potbellied pig evades capture, and baby squirrels are saved

PANIC AT THE CARNIVAL Advertisement On the evening of April 25, police figured out what was causing a commotion at the McKinley Carnival at Jennings Beach in Fairfield, Conn. , and it wasn't something you'd expect. 'At one point during the event, a crowd was seen running from the beach area, understandably raising concerns,' police Advertisement THIS LITTLE At 4:57 p.m. on West Bridgewater informed police that there was such a pig in her backyard which she believed had been living under her porch for a week. The pig, which was described as black and white, was last seen running into the woods toward Ash Street. Advertisement MAYBE? On April 9, Acton police got a call from someone reporting that a motor vehicle hit a boulder. The caller reported speaking to the woman who was driving, who said: 'Maybe that's why I have a flat tire.' The driver wasn't hurt, but the caller was concerned that she'd been drinking because of that comment and her demeanor seemed 'off.' Police who arrived at the scene apparently agreed because they ultimately placed the 27-year-old driver under arrest on charges of operating under the influence, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and possessing an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. Hillsboro Community Prepares to Say Goodbye to Outlet Mall

Hillsboro, Texas (FOX 44) — The City of Hillsboro is saying goodbye to a local landmark as its long-standing Outlet Mall prepares to close its doors for good after more than three decades of business and memories. The Hillsboro Outlet Mall opened in 1989, and was once a bustling retail hub serving as a social and shopping center for residents throughout Central Texas. But like many malls across the country, it has faced years of declining foot traffic, changing consumer habits, and the rise of online shopping. 'Over the last 20 years, really, the mall has slowly declined to the point that there's really now just one outlet left,' said Hillsboro City Manager Megan Henderson. 'So there wasn't necessarily a decision to close the mall. But once it was clear that the mall was not going to come back, the decision to demolish and start something new was made by the city.' For locals like Janice Hanes, the closure marks the end of an era. 'The mall, we gon' miss it. But I love this nail salon,' said Hanes, referring to the Pro Nail Salon in the Outlet, she's been a regular for more than two decades. Her daughter, Melissa Hanes, reflected on the mall's place in their family's history. 'Mama would take me here to buy Christmas gifts for all the kids and the grandkids,' she said. 'And they're all grown up now, just like the changes happening here, but we love this mall. We're really looking forward to what's coming next.' Before demolition begins, Hillsboro officials are giving the community a chance to say goodbye in a festive way. The city is hosting a four-day farewell event dubbed 'Mallmageddon,' which will include a carnival, rage rooms, a museum, and other attractions designed to honor the mall's role in the town's history. SEE ALSO: 'Mallmageddon' will bid farewell to Outlets at Hillsboro 'Mallmageddon is our celebration of the glory days of the Outlet Mall,' Henderson said. 'The mall is coming down soon, but before we have that happen, we want to remember just how big an impact it had on our community—and really on a lot of people's lives.' While the mall's closing marks the end of one chapter, city officials say they are already looking toward the future, exploring redevelopment opportunities for the property that once served as a retail anchor for the region. Kanye West thanks Adam Sandler ‘for the love' after SNL50 tribute song

Kanye West has thanked Adam Sandler for 'the love' after the comedian appeared to make a pointed reference to the controversial rapper during Saturday Night Live 's 50th anniversary special. In celebration of the long-running sketch show's 50th year on air, Sandler, 58, appeared on Sunday's three-hour episode to perform a special tribute song. Throughout the comedic tune, he listed off several inside jokes and references to his time on the show, including 'Tuesday late-night pizza' and 'writers then getting wasted at the after party.' '50 years of finding out your favorite musician's antisemitic,' Sandler sang in another line. His apparent nod to West was not lost on the rapper, who later tweeted: ' Adam Sandler thank you for the love.' West, who has legally gone by Ye since 2021, was infamously dropped by several brands, including Adidas and Balenciaga, following a string of antisemitic comments he made in December 2022. The following year, he issued an apology to the 'Jewish community' for his remarks, vowing that he was committed to 'learning from this experience to ensure greater sensitivity and understanding in the future.' However, he has only continued to spread more antisemitic rhetoric. Earlier this month, West sparked further outrage when he declared he 'loved Hitler' and that he was 'a Nazi' in an alarming rant on X. He's since been dropped by his talent agency over his latest actions, which have also involved selling T-shirts with a swastika on them on his online shop. Amid the 'CARNIVAL' artist's recent controversies, a fake AI video showing Jewish celebrities — including Sandler, Scarlett Johannson and David Schwimmer — giving West the finger went viral. In the clip, the celebrities are depicted wearing a white T-shirt showing a hand containing a Star of David with the middle finger raised above the word 'KANYE.' Johannson denounced the AI video, saying in a statement: 'I am a Jewish woman who has no tolerance for antisemitism or hate speech of any kind. But I also firmly believe that the potential for hate speech multiplied by AI is a far greater threat than any one person who takes accountability for it. We must call out the misuse of AI, no matter its messaging, or we risk losing a hold on reality.' Other celebrities depicted in the video have also spoken out separately about West's actions. Friends star Schwimmer wrote in an Instagram post alongside images of West declaring himself a Nazi: 'This is so 2022. We can't stop a deranged bigot from spewing hate filled, ignorant bile… but we CAN stop giving him a megaphone, Mr. Musk. Kanye West has 32.7 million followers on your platform, X. That's twice as many people than the number of Jews in existence.'

The Chairman of the event said: 'We are getting to the stage where we just can't continue without more help. "Our Carnival is one of the biggest in the area and the only one lasting a whole weekend.
