Alan Alda says his face blindness made him not recognize his daughter: 'I don't think she was too happy'
Good one, dad. Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor Alan Alda is opening up about the time he didn't recognize his own daughter due to a condition he'd later come to find out was prosopagnosia, or face blindness. In all fairness, the incident occurred on the set of Alda's film The Four Seasons, after he had had his daughter, Beatrice, dye her hair a completely different color for her role in the comedy. "I saw this person with horn-rimmed glasses and blonde hair staring at me, and it was starting to get distracting," Alda recalled to PEOPLE. "I said to the assistant director, 'Don't let these strangers come on the set.' He said, 'That's your daughter!' I don't think she was too happy about that, because neither of us knew that there was such a thing as face blindness [at the time]." Alda said to this day it's "very hard" for him to recognize people due to the condition. "When somebody comes up to me, as if they know me, I often don't know if they know me from seeing me on the screen or if I actually know them," he told the outlet. "I could have dinner with somebody, spend two hours with somebody next to me, and the next day not know who they are." Alda, 89, has been open about his health struggles in recent years. In 2018, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2015. At the time, he told CBS This Morning he decided to reveal his diagnosis after noticing his "thumb twitch" during some recent TV appearances to promote his podcast, Clear+Vivid with Alan Alda. "I thought, it's probably only a matter of time before somebody does a story about this from a sad point of view, but that's not where I am," he said. Speaking with PEOPLE more recently, Alda gave an update on his condition, telling the outlet, 'I don't have dexterity with my fingers the way I used to, so sometimes [my wife, Arlene] has to tear a package open for me,' he said. 'She's so good-natured about it. I'm always saying, 'Thank you.'" He also admitted that while managing his Parkinson's has gone from "a part-time job to almost a full-time job" over the past 10 years, he's still able to keep a positive outlook. "It keeps me always looking for the funny side," he said. Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly

Bill Belichick in attendance as girlfriend Jordon Hudson finishes third in Miss Maine USA pageant
Bill Belichick was in attendance at the Miss Maine USA pageant over the weekend as his girlfriend Jordon Hudson finished third. Hudson, 24, finished a spot below where she finished in 2024. Shelby Howell won the two-day competition this year. Advertisement The North Carolina coach, 73, was photographed in the first row on Saturday during the preliminary part of the two-day pageant that included the swimsuit competition and the evening gown competition. His attendance at the pageant came a day after North Carolina issued a statement saying Hudson was still welcome at the school's football facilities following a podcast report that she had been banned. Hudson's and Belichick's relationship has garnered significant attention since they went public and that attention increased after a viral 'CBS This Morning' interview that aired two weeks ago. In the interview, Hudson curtly interrupted after Belichick was asked how the two met. They have said they met on a plane to Palm Beach, Florida, in 2021. Had Belichick simply relayed that story in response to the question from Tony Dokoupil, the interview would likely not have gone viral. Hudson has taken on a significant role in Belichick's affairs as he embarks on his first season as a college football head coach. Belichick was hired by North Carolina in December to replace Mack Brown, and Hudson has served as a PR rep for the coach. In a statement after the CBS interview aired, Belichick confirmed he has both a 'personal and professional' relationship with Hudson and that she was doing her job to ensure the interview "stayed on track." Her email signature lists her as the COO of 'Belichick Productions.'

Bill Belichick's upcoming book doesn't mention New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft
Bill Belichick was reticent to discuss his omission of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft in his upcoming book while his girlfriend Jordon Hudson wasn't keen on discussing their relationship in an interview released Sunday morning. The longtime Patriots coach and current North Carolina head coach was the subject of a feature on 'CBS Sunday Morning.' As Tony Doukopil was asking Belichick about his upcoming book titled the 'The Art of Winning,' the 'CBS This Morning' host noted that Kraft isn't mentioned at all in Belichick's book. Advertisement In typical Belichick news conference fashion, the six-time Super Bowl-winning coach gave short answers regarding Kraft's absence, though he confirmed that the owner's name was not included. 'Well again, [the book] is about my life lessons in football and it's really more about the ones I experienced directly,' Belichick said. After it was noted that Kraft wasn't mentioned in the acknowledgements, Belichick paused for a moment. 'Correct,' he said. Belichick left the Patriots after the 2023 season and spent the 2024 season out of football doing media appearances. The team said at the time that it had reached a "mutual" decision with Belichick to part ways and Kraft said that it was "best we each move on" in a news conference after the decision. Advertisement In April, an ESPN report emerged that Kraft even told Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank not to trust Belichick. The Falcons hired Raheem Morris ahead of the 2024 season and were the only known NFL team to interview Belichick after the 2023 season. After Kraft, the topic of the interview then turned to Belichick and Hudson, his omnipresent girlfriend. Hudson, 24, is nearly 50 years younger than Belichick and their relationship has garnered significant attention. As Doukopil noted the fascination with the couple and asked how they met, Hudson wasn't having any of it. 'We're not talking about this,' Hudson said. Hudson has been serving as a PR liaison of sorts for Belichick as he embarks on his first college head coaching job. Public records requests uncovered that Belichick asked for her to be copied on his emails and freely offers her input. When the school hired his son Steve Belichick to be the team's defensive coordinator, she sent guidelines to the school for how Steve's hire could be framed to avoid claims of nepotism. Advertisement Steve Belichick, a former New England assistant under his father, was the defensive coordinator at Washington in 2024. His brother Brian, also a former Patriots staffer, was hired this offseason as the team's special teams coach. Hudson and Belichick have also attempted to protect their relationship on the school's social media pages. Around Valentine's Day, Hudson asked if the school was deleting 'slanderous commentary' and blocking users that were 'harassing' Belichick. In an email the following day, Belichick himself said that he 'cannot believe that UNC would support my being called a 'predator.''

Twilight star Kristen Stewart marries long term girlfriend Dylan Meyer on Easter Sunday
Stewart and Meyer, who went public on Instagram with their relationship in October 2019, got engaged in 2021. Twilight star Kristen Stewart has married her long term girlfriend Dylan Meyer in an Easter Sunday ceremony. Stewart, 35, and Meyer, who went public on Instagram with their relationship in October 2019, got engaged in 2021. Stewart, who played the lead female role of Bella Swan in the movie adaptations of Stephenie Meyer 's best-selling novels about a girl who falls for a vampire, wed Meyer in Los Angeles. The couple exchanged vows at home in front of an intimate group of loved ones — including Ashley Benson and her husband Brandon Davis — after obtaining a marriage license at the courthouse. That year, Stewart joked that Meyer, 37 — who is the daughter of Oscar-nominated screenwriter Nicholas Meyer — beat her to the punch and was the one who proposed. "It's not a given that I would be the one, you know what I mean? Like, with two girls, you never know, like, who's going to fulfill what weird f****** gender role thing and we don't do that or think about it in those terms," the actress told shock jock Howard Stern. "So I was like, 'Wait, well, I'm not the one for sure.' And so I was kind of joking for a bit, like, 'No, I want to be the one to propose, like, I want to be proposed to' and then she just grabbed that bowl and made it happen. It was f****** so cute," she continued, adding that Meyer "knocked it out of the park" with her proposal. Stewart had previously opened up to Stern about the first time she told Meyer she loved her. "It was really late and we were in some s******* bar, and her friends were there or whatever and they walked out, and I was just like, 'Oh, man, I'm so f****** in love with you.' Like, done," she said. "It wasn't like 'a thing,' and it also was so obvious." In early 2022, Stewart shared an update on her wedding plans, telling late-night host Stephen Colbert that she'd like to have a "big party or something" — but that she could also envision just deciding to get married on the spur of the moment. "We might just go do it this weekend, I don't know, and then, like, just hang out with everyone afterwards," she said. "I just want to do it, you know? I'm not a good planner. I can't make plans for dinner." Stewart later told CBS This Morning that the wedding would "happen when it's supposed to happen," adding, "But I also don't want to be engaged for, like, five years. Like, we want to do it, you know what I mean?" Though the pair has kept their relationship pretty private over the years, they have offered rare glimpses into their love story. In a 33rd birthday tribute to Stewart in April 2023, Meyer affectionately referred to the Spencer star as her "favourite Shrimp." "Sweetheart, I love you more than all the shades of green, all the phases of the moon, all the cats in LA. Love you more than chunking express, or Denis Johnson's already dead, or the stooges' raw power," Meyer wrote on Instagram. "I love you more than a dominos pizza when you're stoned, a Ricky's fish taco when you're hungover, and EVEN more than a plate of wings — hot and extra crispy — from rustic, aka the pinnacle of my capacity to love." She continued, "Some might say that's too much love but I say those people are squares. Go big or go home! Happy birthday dude I love you so much." When Meyer shared her first photo with Stewart on Instagram in October 2019, capturing the couple kissing, she wrote, "Find me under the covers hiding from the happiness police."

Blue Origin's all-women flight to launch today with Gayle King, Katy Perry on board
Blue Origin, Jeff Bezos's space tourism company, will launch its latest spaceflight this morning with a historic all-women crew. Those on board 'New Shepard (NS)' include CBS This Morning host Gayle King, pop singer Katy Perry, activist Amanda Nguyen, aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, film producer Kerianne Flynn and former TV host Lauren Sánchez, who is Bezos's fiancée. This flight is called NS-31. KIRO 7 will be taking the launch live throughout our morning newscasts. Each spaceflight lasts about 11 minutes, taking passengers just past the Kármán line — 62 miles above Earth, which some international aviation and aerospace experts consider the threshold of space — allowing the crew to experience a few minutes of weightlessness. The rocket will then descend back to Earth, with its single engine restarting to slow the booster down to just 6 mph for a controlled landing back on the launchpad. The capsule carrying the crew descends separately, deploying three parachutes for its landing nearby. According to Elle Magazine, Bowe will be bringing up the Apollo 12 flag, courtesy of the Museum of Flight in Tukwila. Crews have been prepping by taking zero-gravity flight simulations. It's unclear how much a seat on the New Shepard costs, but according to its website, there's a $150,000 fully-refundable deposit to begin the process. In 2022, MoonDAO, marketed as 'the internet's space program' said it paid about $2.5 million for two seats.
