15% MBA specialised management courses vacant despite four rounds of counselling
Indore: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya's flagship MBA programmes saw full enrolment through CUET PG admissions. But several specialised management courses continued to face low response even after four rounds of counselling. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now University data shows that MBA programmes in marketing management, human resource management, financial administration, financial services, and business economics filled all available seats. However, seven other specialisations — e-commerce, tourism, foreign trade, business analysis, computer management, entrepreneurship, and media management — still have over 15% of seats vacant. This year, DAVV offered 1,450 seats across 24 CUET PG courses. The first counselling round saw 1,400 registrations and the second about 300, but admissions closed at around 800 seats after the first two rounds. Even an offline counselling session failed to fill vacancies in niche MBA courses. The university CUET admissions coordinator Rajesh Sharma said that the shortfall was partly due to fewer candidates from Madhya Pradesh qualifying in CUET PG. "These specialised courses require greater awareness and interest among aspirants. Without that, enrolment remains a challenge despite repeated counselling," he said. To address the issue, the university has announced departmental-level college level counselling (CLC) for the remaining seats. The process will also allow fresh applicants who did not register earlier to participate. The trend underscores a widening preference gap between conventional MBA streams and emerging specialisations. Experts suggest that targeted outreach, stronger industry linkages, and better career counselling will be essential to enhance the appeal of such courses in the coming years. "We hope with the department level counselling, the remaining seats will be filled," added Sharma.

Admissions to 20 PG courses in IP University through CUET scores
The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) Delhi will offer admissions to 20 postgraduate programmes through the Common University Entrance Test Postgraduate (CUET PG) scores for the academic session 2025-26. The 20 postgrauduate programmes include MBA, MCA (software engineering) or MCA, MAMC, MPT (M/N/S/C), MSc (environment management), LLM, MA (English), MEd, MTech (CSG), MTech (EG), MA (economics), PG in applied geoinformatics, MSc (yoga), MSc (medicinal chemistry and drug design), MSc (bioinformatics), MSc (molecular diagnostics), MSc (microbiology), MS (packaging technology), BEd and BEd (special education). Candidates interested in admissions to these programmes through CUET scores can apply online by July 15 with a fee of Rs 2,500 for application and counselling. Detailed information is available on the university's websites – and CUET PG scores will be used for admission to PG programmes after the merit list of national-level tests or GGSIPU Common Entrance Test (CET) and university-conducted entrance exams for affiliated programmes is exhausted. IPU, this year, has introduced an orphan children quota, in addition to the existing Single Girl Child quota introduced last year. The quota will be effective from the academic session 2025-26. Under this quota, one additional seat will be reserved in each university schools and programmes, and the selected students will be eligible for a 100 per cent fee waiver under the university's EWS scheme. The University has launched an admission chatbot service. The IP University admission chatbot service seeks to provide instant answers to queries related to admissions in various programmes for the new session. Students who registered for PG admissions at DAVV through CUET PG can now check their merit rank on the university's website. The choice filling process will begin from June 13 to June 19. "Students can view their merit status and proceed with course preferences," said Prof Rajesh Sharma, Chairman, CUET PG Admissions at DAVV. The choice filling involves selecting and prioritising programmes across departments and locking preferences before the deadline to be eligible for allotment. Despite a record 86,000 students selecting DAVV as their preferred institution during the CUET-PG registration process—more than double last year's figure—the university received just over 1,500 registrations for its 1,450 PG seats, raising concern among the admissions committee. Sharma attributed this to confusion over subject mapping: "Many students only appeared for their core subject exams, skipping required tests like general knowledge and mathematics, which limited their eligibility. " As per the official counselling schedule, the first round of seat allotment will be announced on June 24. Students allotted seats will have to report for document verification between June 30 and July 2, followed by online fee submission from June 30 to July 6..
