Mum on £3,500 holiday forced to get up early to tackle 'unfair' sunbed war
A mother on holiday with her family has revealed how she was forced to get up early because of 'unfair' sunbed hogs.
Lianne Smith, 39, spent a week in Cala'n Bosch with her husband, two children, parents and her brother.
However, her £3,500 holiday wasn't quite as relaxing as Lianne hoped as she soon found herself battling other overly keen tourists for sun loungers in the mornings.
She revealed she found it hard to secure six beds together, because of other eager holidaymakers reserving them in the early hours.
'It goes against what I think is right. It's annoying, but you pay all that money - and if you can't beat them, join them,' the mother-of-two said.
Lianne, from Bristol, recalled how even though the hotel pool didn't officially open until 10am, nearly a third of the sun loungers were gone by 8.30am.
She explained how a lot of the 'taken' sun beds were actually for children who would spend most of their time in the pool.
The holidaymaker said: 'The first morning we tried to get sunbeds together, but by the time we arrived, people had already staked their spots well before the pool even opened.

'When we showed up, there was no way to sit next to each other – everyone was spread out all around the pool.
'We tried arriving later on another day, but it was the same story every time.'
Lianne explained how she ended up 'sneaking out' while the kids were still sleeping and put towels on beds.
'What really gets to me is when people reserve beds for their kids – it feels unfair,' she fumed.
'We'd never reserve spots for all 10 of us.
'The kids are usually in the pool anyway, so we just share beds.'
Lianne posted about her experience on TikTok, and said that although she enjoyed the holiday overall, other tourists creating daily sunbed wars wasn't so relaxing.
She said: 'Most people agreed it's super frustrating. We spent one morning at the beach, but usually, we prefer to hang around the pool.'

The mother shared that she had heard about a sunbed booking system used elsewhere and felt it was a good solution to the problem.
She said: 'One person mentioned they'd been somewhere with a ticket system to book sunbeds in advance.
'I'm honestly surprised there isn't a better way to manage it all.
