More than 100 locals take part in another successful Greenock parkrun
THIS week 150 people ran, jogged and walked the parkrun course, of whom 31 were first timers and 21 recorded new personal bests.
Representatives of 15 different clubs including Hillsborough and Rivelin RC, Gosport Road Runners, Vegan Runners, Edinburgh AC, Leicester Triathlon Club, Knowsley Harriers AC, Brighton and Hove Athletic Club, Kilbarchan AAC, jogscotland, Volunteers parkrun Club (Unofficial), Kilmacolm Unofficial Running Club, Harmeny AC, Inverclyde C25K, Inverclyde Athletics Club (IAC) and Greenock Glenpark Harriers (GGH), all took part.
Completing his 100th parkrun on Saturday was Campbell Macfarlane. On May 31, 2014, he took part in his first ever parkrun and that was on the Esplanade.

Runners from three different clubs made up the first three finishers. IAC's John Bell was first into the funnel in 15:08. Dylan Crawford of GGH was second in 16:37. Edinburgh AC's Robin Kyle completed the top three males in 17:22.

Junior male runners taking part were first timer Jonah (37:36), Justin (33:31) and Rupert (23:34). For the ladies were Anna and Stella, who both gained new personal bests of 23:39.

A spokesperson said: 'If you have thought about volunteering but have never done any, now is your chance.
'Training will be given on the day. You will be joining a great team who always help one another.
'If you would like to help, please email greenock@ and one of our run directors will get back to you.'
