Everton agree surprise Liverpool transfer
The goalkeeping department has seen a lot of movement at Liverpool this summer. It was an area that was always going to have a few changes. Caoimhin Kelleher had made it clear he wanted to be a first choice goalkeeper and so it was inevitable that he would move onto pastures new. With Giorgi Mamardashvili coming in, Liverpool had already secured his replacement. At the same time, unexpectedly Liverpool also secured the services of highly rated Hungary U21 international Armin Pecsi. The youngster is a Golden Boy nominee and already has over 50 appearances under his belt at senior level despite being only 20-years-old. In return, Vitezslav Jaros, has been sent out on loan to Ajax Amsterdam where he is expected to work alongside former Liverpool assistant coach, Johnny Heitinga. Harvey Davies has also gone out on loan to Crewe, which has seen Liverpool secure the services of highly experienced goalkeeper, Freddie Woodman on a free transfer. In the coaching department, the surprise departures of Fabian Otte and Claudio Taffarel were ones that came out of nowhere. In their place Xavi Valero, who previously worked at Liverpool under Rafa Benitez, and Colin Stewart has arrived from Rangers, having previously worked with Giovanni van Bronckhorst at the club, who is now one of Arne Slot's assistant coaches. While the loss of Otte and Taffarel are big ones, Valero is a renowned goalkeeping coach and Stewart has close to a decade of experience at Rangers, so Liverpool have brought in two very competent goalkeeper coaches. It's going to complement a really exciting goalkeeping pool at the club. As well as the aforementioned names, there are also high hopes for Kornel Misciur, who is an exciting young goalkeeper at the academy, and who caught the eye for the U21s last season. Meanwhile, DJ Bernard is another one to keep a close eye on, and he's expected to get his chance at U18 level this season. But there is one goalkeeper who will not be at the club anymore. Highly rated U15 stopper Ruben Savvas has made a shock move across Merseyside. The 14-year-old has joined Everton for a reported £200k according to LFC Next Gen on Instagram. Savvas has been called up to England's U15 side and was rated as one of the best up and coming talents in his age group at the club. It looks like Everton have managed to convince him to leave Liverpool in what is a major coup for the club's rivals. Savvas confirmed the move himself on his Instagram account, sharing the LFC Next Gen post to his story. The deal is pending Premier League approval but it's expected to be completed. Liverpool will hope they do not rue losing him to Everton in years to come, just like they once did with Anthony Gordon, who started out playing for the Reds' academy before switching to Everton.

Liverpool ready to let €60m deal collapse
Liverpool have plenty of deals that they are happy to agree, so that players who need to move elsewhere get that opportunity, but the financial offers need to make sense for the accounts. It's rare that the Reds will sell someone for lower than their market. The club is extremely frugal. Advertisement Caoimhin Kelleher's move to Brentford for £12.5m plus £5.5m in add-ons might well have been seen as cheaper than expected, but in his circumstances, Liverpool promised him a chance to be No. 1. With other player such as Darwin Nunez however, whom the club has spent a lot of money on, his departure is going to be for a high fee or it simply won't happen. Liverpool must limit their losses. Liverpool might leave negotiations with Napoli Interest in Nunez so far this summer has been primarily from Napoli and it's been a long drawn-out affair. Liverpool's asking price is reportedly a minimum of €60m (£51m) and no bid has come close. Advertisement The assumption is that if the Italian club really wants to sign Nunez, then they will pay up. After all, Victor Osimhen is set to leave for around €70m, so the money is there to be spent on a replacement. But they aren't budging and according to Corriere Dello Sport, it is plausible that Liverpool might give up on the deal in not wanting to compromise their asking price. Richard Hughes is standing firm. The latest report said: "Liverpool, just to give priority to the British, does not give a millimetre and continues to insist on the inadmissibility of its request for 60 million euros. "The story has not changed, in the sense that the Reds are very firm on the demands and continue to insist on the price: Darwin is worth 60 million and even the 50 plus five offered by Napoli are not enough."

Carrying red wreath, Liverpool players join family for Diego Jota's funeral
Carrying a red floral wreath bearing his shirt number, Diogo Jota's Liverpool teammates joined relatives and residents in a small Portuguese town on Saturday for the funeral of the soccer star, who died alongside his brother in a car crash on Thursday. Club captain Virgil Van Dijk, goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher and manager Arne Slot were among the Liverpool teammates past and present who attended the service in Gondomar for the striker and his brother, Andre Silva. The English Premier League stars carried two floral tributes in the club's red color into the chapel, each in the shape of a shirt. The one carried by Van Dijk had Jota's number 20 written in white flowers. The other bore the number 30, which was worn by Jota's brother, who played for FC Penafiel in Portugal's second division. Dressed in black and with their heads bowed, the teammates entered the church in silence. The only sound was the applause from the crowd outside. Rute Cardoso, who married her childhood sweetheart Jota only weeks before the fatal crash, arrived with relatives. Hundreds of residents of Gondomar, a small town in northern Portugal where Jota grew up, gathered outside. The private service was presided over by the Bishop of Porto, Manuel Linda. In an emotional homily addressed to Jota's parents, his wife and their three young children, Linda said "solidarity in love is always stronger than death." Teammates from the Portugal national squad including Bernardo Silva and Bruno Fernandes, who both play in the English Premier League, also attended the service. "Jota will always be in our hearts. He will always be present at every breakfast, lunch, dinner, at all our national team get-togethers, at our PlayStation games, at our card games," Silva told Portuguese broadcaster TVI. Jota's death at the age of 28 sent shock waves through the world of soccer and beyond, with messages of condolences pouring in from national leaders as well as across the sport. Fans continued to lay flowers and other tributes to the striker on Saturday outside Liverpool's Anfield stadium. The brothers were believed to have been driving to a ferry in Spain to travel to Britain when their Lamborghini veered off the road and burst into flames after midnight on Thursday. Police said they suspected a tire had burst.
