CATA to close for Memorial Day

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Capital Area Transportation Authority will be closed on Memorial Day. Fixed-Route, Spec-Tran, Rural Service, CATA Rydz, Connector, Redi-Ride, and Shopping Bus services will not operate. While the buses will not operate, the Spec-Tran office will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to schedule rides after the holiday. CATA services will resume their regular schedules on May 27. CATA changes regular service for Easter Sunday

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Capital Area Transportation Authority (CATA) will be changing its regular service on April 20 for Easter Sunday. CATA says they will not operate regular Sunday services, including Fixed-Route, Spec-Tran, Lot Link, Night Owl and CATA Rydz programs during the holiday. Limited holiday service will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for customers with pre-reserved trips. Late-night services on Saturday, April 19, will end early as follows: Route 1 Downtown Lansing/Meridian Mall: Final trips will depart the CATA Transportation Center at 10:40 p.m. and Meridian Mall at 11:20 p.m. Saturday services end for the evening when the last bus reaches the CTC at 11:55 p.m. Routes 34, 35 & 36: Final campus trips will depart the MSU-CTC/Ramp 1 at 10:55 p.m. on Route 35, 11 p.m. on Route 34 and 11:20 p.m. on Route 36. All three routes will end service by 11:30 p.m. when buses return to the MSU-CTC/Ramp 1. Lot Link: Service on MSU`s campus will end at midnight. The Spec-Tran office will remain open Easter Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To schedule rides needed after the holiday, call 517-394-2282, , or use the MyRideCATA app. CATA routes and services will resume regular weekday schedules on Monday, April 21. Prepare for possible route detours, CATA says

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)– Heavy snow is expected to fall this afternoon and many mid-Michigan counties are under a Winter Weather Advisory until 7 a.m. Thursday morning. The Capital Area Transportation Authority reports that 13 routes may experience detours due to weather. Buses will display 'On Snow Detour' and will pass through regular bus stops on affected roads. Before riding, CATA says to be prepared and check to stay up-to-date on alternative routes. If routes return to normal, people will receive a two-hour notice via Rider Alerts. Routes that could experience snow detours: 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 22, 23, 24 and 26 If anyone has questions can call the CATA Customer Experience Representative at 517-394-1000.
