Fortnite Star Wars Set to End With Massive Death Star Battle: Here's When It Happens

From Darth Jar Jar to Star Destroyer bombardments, Fortnite game players have seen it all during the Star Wars season -- except for one last climactic battle. The Death Star Sabotage event will begin on June 7 at 2 p.m. ET, pitting players against the giant battlestation fans know so well. It's no moon. When users log on (and that now includes Apple App Store users), they'll be able to select the Death Star Sabotage event in the Discover section. But returning players, beware: These special events aren't like the usual battle royale. This is a one-time-only experience, not ongoing, so you'll have to log in on time if you want to participate. Once begun, it's likely to have several objectives to complete in a more cinematic, on-the-rails adventure. A unique, brief Death Star event is coming on June 7. Epic Games Players who log on starting June 3, will also find a special loading screen advertising the event, as well as receive Captain Phasma's personal melee weapon as a teaser reward. While details about the Death Star Sabotage mode are scarce, teaser footage shows what looks like Fortnite players wearing Stormtrooper skins and sabotaging equipment, presumably inside the Death Star itself. Pictures also show some tie-fighter activity, defense against a Star Destroyer and more Star Wars action. CNET senior analyst and Fortnite aficionado Jeffrey Mizrahi has been playing the Star Wars season all month and found it particularly satisfying. "The month-long Star Wars/Fortnite crossover has been one of the best IP collaborations Epic has ever pulled off," Mizrahi said. "From small things like blaster gameplay to piloting X-Wings, tie fighters, and even star destroyers, I only wish this season lasted longer." The Death Star event is a short, one-time-only affair, so players should log in well ahead of time. Epic Games As this battle concludes the Star Wars season, expect Fortnite to go offline soon after before rebooting on Sunday with the new summer season. A representative for Epic Games did not immediately respond for comment.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3: What is Light and Dark Alignment, XP, Rewards and more explained

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 has brought a galactic shake-up with its Star Wars crossover, and leading the charge is the all-new Light and Dark Alignment system. It's not just about skins and cosmetics anymore. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Your choices in-game now steer your path toward the Light or Dark side, influencing gameplay perks, XP rewards, and even the wider Fortnite island. What is the Light and Dark Alignment System? In simple terms, Fortnite now allows you to pledge allegiance to the Rebel Alliance (Light Side) or the Empire (Dark Side). This isn't a permanent decision, players can shift their allegiance as the season progresses - but committing to one path can accelerate your XP gain and unlock exclusive features. How to Complete Light & Dark Side Community Alignment in Fortnite Your personal alignment bar is fueled by quests tied to each side. For Light Alignment, players need to complete tasks like opening supply chests at Rebel Outposts, travelling specific distances, and using abilities like Force Push/Pull from Jedi Training Rifts. Dark Alignment focuses on more aggressive tactics - raiding First Order Bases, eliminating players, and mastering Force Lightning abilities. XP and rewards Each Alignment quest gives you 3,000 XP. Completing five such quests triggers a weekly Alignment Progress mission, which offers a hefty 30,000 XP bonus. Altogether, the Alignment system has 20 stages per side - meaning players can earn over 100,000 XP just by sticking to the grind. This is a substantial boost, especially for those chasing Battle Pass tiers. The system isn't just personal, there's a global component too. The entire Fortnite community contributes to a collective Alignment bar, visible in the quest tab. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now As the global bar fills, all players benefit from perks like storm forecasting or increased loot chances. The more one side dominates, the more it shapes the map dynamics. Those loyal to the Light side can expect defensive advantages, while Dark side followers enjoy aggressive perks such as shield regeneration in combat. Additionally, defeating iconic Star Wars bosses like Darth Vader or Captain Phasma not only boosts your alignment but also drops powerful mythic gear. Start early by visiting faction hubs to farm bars and complete quests without interruption. While experimenting with both sides is allowed, players looking for efficiency may want to fully commit to one path. With the Force in your hands, your alignment could define the outcome of this galactic season.

The alignment system allows one to pledge to the Dark or the Light side, and to balance the cosmic forces requires more than just luck. It needs a strategy. Here is how you can maximize your progress and reap the biggest perks while influencing your galactic balance. Grind Alignment quests for the cosmic clout NEW COMMUNITY QUEST - How to Progress your Light Or Dark Alignment in Fortnite Star Wars To boost the Light Alignment , partner with the Rebel factions. Land at Rebel Outposts (Light) or Resistance Bases (Dark) for tackling tasks like searching supply chests, traveling 1000 meters, learning Force Push/Pull through Training Rifts, and traveling set distances. For the Dark Alignment , you can side with the Imperial Forces: Raid First Order Bases or the Vader Samurai's Solitude. It will help you collect the bars, eliminate the players, or master the Force Lightning. Every quest, once completed, adds 3,000 XP. It fills the personal Alignment bar. Giving priority to one side early so that focusing on the Dark or Light will streamline progress. Defeat the bosses like Captain Phasma or Darth Vader, spike the chosen alignment, and reward the mythic gear while pushing the agenda. Community power and secret perks Your efforts will feed the global Alignment bar that is visible in the quest menu. With the players worldwide completing quests, the collective progress unlocks some perks like Storm Forecast, revealing the future safe zones. The meta-layer encourages teamwork—Dominate an Alignment for swaying the map dynamics, like the loot rates or storm behavior. To complete all 20 Alignment stages per side will net 100,000+ XP and some exclusive rewards. The Dark Side enthusiasts snag aggressive perks like shield boosts, while the Light loyalists gain some defensive edges. Be adaptable, as Epic might drop the new perks with the evolving season. Pro tip: Farm the bars at the faction hubs early in the match to breeze through the quests uncontested. Remember, the alignments are not permanent. Experimenting with both sides will help maximize the XP, but committing completely to one will be best for some endgame advantages. The Force and the victory await those who plan wisely.
