Red Bulls snap Union's 5-game unbeaten streak as Dylan Nealis scores 1st career MLS goal
Dylan Nealis scored his first career goal in MLS on Saturday night to help the New York Red Bulls beat Philadelphia 1-0 and snap the Union's five-game unbeaten streak. Carlos Miguel Coronel had a save for the Red Bulls (11-10-6). Nealis opened the scoring in the 74th minute. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, on the left side, cut inside to evade a defender and played a low cross to Nealis for a first-touch finish that ricocheted off the post into the net. Philadelphia (15-6-6) is the points leader in all of MLS with 51. Cincinnati, which plays Portland later Saturday, and San Diego FC, which leads the Western Conference and plays Sunday against San Jose, each have 49 points, Union goalkeeper Andre Blake had a save before the 34-year-old left the game with an apparent hamstring injury in the 28th minute and was replaced by 19-year-old Andrew Rick. New York's Kyle Duncan (red card, violent conduct) and the Union's Jakob Glesnes (yellow card accumulation) served one-game suspensions. Philadelphia beat the Red Bulls 2-0 at home on July 12.

Wiki Carmona stole a pass near midfield and raced down the left side before he played a centering pass to the top of the area, where Emil Forsberg fed a streaking Harper on the right side for a one-touch shot that slipped just inside the left post. Sofo subbed on in the 85th and capped the scoring in the fifth minute of stoppage time with a rolling shot from the left-center of the area. Luis Barraza had three saves for D.C. João Peglow scores first 2 MLS goals, DC United beats Red Bulls 2-1
HARRISON, N.J. — João Peglow scored twice in the first half, his first two goals in MLS, to help D.C. United beat the New York Red Bulls 2-1 on Saturday to snap a four-game losing streak. D.C. United (2-4-3) — which went into the game with a minus-9 goal differential, tied with CF Montreal for worst in the Eastern Conference, and winless in five straight — won for the first time since 2-1 home victory over Sporting Kansas City on March 8. Luis Barraza played a long goal kick to the attacking third, where Peglow flicked a header forward to himself and beat goalkeeper Carlos Miguel Coronel from the center of the area to give D.C. United a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute. It was Barraza's second career assist and his first since the 2021 season. David Schnegg chipped a cross from the left side to the back post, where Aaron Herrera played a header high into the air before Peglow put away a bicycle kick to make it 2-0 in the 44th. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored for the Red Bulls in the 57th minute to cut their deficit to 2-1 when his shot deflected off defender Lukas MacNaughton and ricocheted off the crossbar before settling into the net. New York (3-3-3) lost for just the second time since a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Cincinnati in the season opener. Carlos Miguel Coronel had three saves for the Red Bulls. Barraza, acquired from New York City FC via trade in December, made his second consecutive start for D.C. United and finished with two saves.
