North Carolina lands big commitment from wide receiver
The North Carolina Tar Heels have picked up another big recruit for their impressive 2026 class, keeping the momentum going. On Wednesday, the Tar Heels landed four-star wide receiver Carnell Warren as he verbally pledged his commitment to the program. After committing to Virginia Tech in early 2025, he decommitted from the program and drew interest from programs like Michigan, Mississippi State, Penn State, and Wisconsin. He even scheduled a visit to UNC as the Tar Heels were involved in his new recruitment. Advertisement Now, as the Summer goes on, he officially has a new home. The 6-foot-4, 195-pound Warren hails out of Bluffton, South Carolina and had a total of 18 offers in his recruitment before picking the Tar Heels. He's ranked No. 319 nationally, the No. 50 wide receiver and No. 7 player in the state of South Carolina per the 247Sports recruiting rankings. The addition of Warren gives UNC 31 commitments in the 2026 class so far and he's the fourth wide receiver to join the class, along with four-star Keeyun Chapman, three-star Kei'Maurii Miles and three-star Zamaurious Robertson. UNC's class now ranks No. 19 nationally and they have the chance to add even more to the class before it's all said and done.
