Get a free Samsung Galaxy Watch - tech editor shares where to find it

Our tech commerce editor has found a way to get a Samsung smartwatch for free A smartwatch is often considered one of the best accessories to pair with a phone, a close contender to a speedy pair of wireless earphones. Whether it's the newest Apple Watch Ultra, a flagship Galaxy Watch, or a cheaper fitness-based alternative like Fitbit or Garmin. Anyone on the lookout for an Android-pairing wearable, we've found a way to get a Samsung Watch completely free. The Galaxy Watch7 BT usually retails for more than £280, but it's been slashed to £0 for Carphone Warehouse shoppers. The catch is, consumers will have to buy a Samsung mobile to claim the 2024 model. As a tech commerce editor, scouring sites for deals and standout perks is something I do each day, and it's not often you see a free smartwatch offered to shoppers - I've rounded up exactly what shoppers need to do to qualify. First up, the handset. The deal is only available on the S24 FE device, the 'fan edition' of last year's S range. As a quick background, this model is designed to offer similar features to the Galaxy S24 range but cuts back on processor speeds and sensors to justify the cheaper price. Another thing worth flagging to S24 FE shoppers, is the handsets cameras aren't as advanced as the standard S24 range. In comparison to the S24 usual £759 price - or now £659 in Samsung's sale - the S24 FE is £599 at Carphone Warehouse. But there's also the option to pick an iD Mobile plan and spread the cost across a 24-month plan - although we'd should point out that this comes with an £89.99 upfront fee. Buying a brand-new mobile isn't the only way to get a good deal on a wearable accessory. Amazon is offering a cheaper price on the fitness Fitbit trackers - this Inspire 3 model is now £58.99. The Garmin Forerunner, which is a step up from Fitbit with advanced training guidance, is reduced to £122.99 at Amazon too. The next point to flag is crucial, and not one made obvious on the shopping listing. The free watch is only available to claim to shoppers who pick a specific colour of the S24 FE mobile - green to be precise. This can be found in the small print of the Samsung T&C's - which we trailed through, here. Once Samsung shoppers have bought the Galaxy S23 FE mobile, they have 30 days after purchase to claim the £0 Galaxy Watch, of course with proof of purchase and by the July 29 deadline. And there's lots of retailer options. Personally, this is a part of the offer which I rate, as shoppers can take their own time to compare prices about the participating retailers. Which include Sky Mobile, so ideal for pay-as-you-go consumers, Very, Asda Mobile and Argos (to name a few). For those contemplating rival Sky Mobile, the handset starts at £18 per month, with data added on top. The provider is also running an offer on data anyone who picks 25GB of monthly data will get it doubled for free for a 12-month period. The only downside to Sky is its longer plans, which compared to the above 24-month iD Mobile plan, it's a much longer contract at a minimum 36-months.

Apple fans rushing to snap up iPhone 16 Pro Max deal from Sky

The iPhone 16 Pro Max is Apple's flagship phone and now Sky is selling the device for a cheaper monthly cost Payday joy is upon us, and for folks itching to upgrade their handset, it could be the perfect moment to take the plunge. Right now, Sky has bridled its most sought-after phone deal – a contract on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. As Apple's crème de la crème offering, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is up for grabs from Sky at a reduced monthly rate for a limited spell. At £35 per month, tech enthusiasts can bag an iPhone 16 Pro Max on a 36-month term. Boasting a whopping 6.9-inch display, the beefy A18 Pro chip, and superior battery endurance compared to older models, the iPhone 16 Pro Max also comes equipped with Apple Intelligence, designed to boost productivity for Apple devotees. Over the course of the three-year agreement, customers will shell out £1260 – and remember, this figure doesn't cover your data package, so bear that in mind when considering the purchase. For those on the hunt for more options, Carphone Warehouse flings open its doors with a smorgasbord of tempting offers as well. Or, if you're an Apple zealot, check out Giffgaff where the iPhone 16 Pro is yours for a modest £24 month plan, albeit with a slightly steeper initial £25 expense. Snap up the iPhone 16 Pro Max from Sky for £35 a month £999 £35/a month SKY GET DEAL Product Description When our tech experts at the Daily Express got their hands on the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max to review, they were extremely happy with the device. Tech guru Dave Snelling shared: "The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max get some nice updates including those bigger displays, improved battery life and faster charging. "The A18 Pro chip sets a new standard and the rear camera is better than ever. There's also the addition of that Camera Control button on the side and you get some new colours to choose from including the striking Desert Titanium. Apple Intelligence will also arrive before Christmas making these devices even smarter." However, he did suggest that those with an iPhone 15 Pro or similar might want to hold off upgrading. He added: "These are great iPhones but if you have an iPhone 15 Pro in your pocket there's probably not enough here to warrant an upgrade especially as those 2023 devices will also get Apple Intelligence via a software update. "That said, if you haven't upgraded in a while and want the best iPhone of the bunch then the 16 Pro and Pro Max are top-notch call makers that will be contenders for phone of the year."

'Spectacular' Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra gets £10 a month price cut

Samsung fans can now get their hands on the Galaxy S25 Ultra for cheaper than ever before Sky is offering a price reduction on two popular Samsung smartphones. The first offer features the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra for £36 a month - a decrease from the original price of £46 a month. Over the course of a 36-month contract, this results in a saving of £360. The second offer is for the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE, now available for £18 a month instead of £23 a month. Additionally, this deal includes a complimentary Samsung Watch7. For the 36-month contract duration without data, Galaxy S25 Ultra customers will pay £1,296 in total, while those opting for the Galaxy S24 FE will pay £648. After 24 months, customers are allowed to upgrade their devices. But if you need some alternatives to consider, there's plenty to explore. There's Carphone Warehouse, which has a range of other deals to explore, including Samsung Galaxy phones and Apple iPhones that might have better deals and data for you. And for Apple fans, Giffgaff also has a reasonable monthly price on its iPhone 16 Pro with a £24 a month plan with a slightly more expensive £25 upfront cost if users want to shop around. Upon reviewing the Galaxy S25 Ultra at launch, tech editor Dave Snelling complimented it by saying: "Samsung has done it again and produced another spectacularly good smartphone. The Galaxy S25 Ultra looks great, features a stunning 6.9-inch screen, a brilliant camera, long battery life, and that supremely quick Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. "It also gets all of those Galaxy AI upgrades that can organise your life, retouch your photos, chat to you like a human and bring live football scores straight to the home screen." But David wasn't entirely sold on the AI capabilities. He remarked: "It's all clever stuff, but for some, it might just be a bit too smart. "There's so much Artificial Intelligence now included that it can all feel slightly overwhelming, and only power users (and true AI geeks) are going to get close to scratching the surface of what this device can really do. "That doesn't make this a bad phone. In fact, it's a very good phone. It just feels like all of Samsung's development is going into the software rather than boosting the hardware. Perhaps the AI boom for smartphones is because there's nothing else manufacturers can add or improve. You might ask yourself why you need a new phone at all - they say AI is the answer". Regarding the Galaxy S24 FE, it has received some stellar feedback on the Samsung website. A reviewer enthused: "Everything about this device is flawless. Smooth and vibrant screen. Fabulous camera. "Connects fast and performs like a speedy tank. The battery could be better, but other than that. Flawless phone." Another reviewer gushes: "I love my new phone it charges really quickly and lasts all day. I love the display - I can see every icon and they are easy to find. The camera is fantastic and I love the design of the phone. The performance is amazing, everything is quicker, it's the best phone I've had." However, not everyone is impressed, as one three-star review states: "I like this phone, however, it does require frequent charging and takes far too long to charge at three hours."

Samsung fans snap up £548 freebies as shoppers rush for £46 a month Sky deal

Samsung are offering some great freebies if you decide to buy the Galaxy S25 Ultra including a free tablet and smartwatch worth £548 If shoppers on the hunt for fantastic bargains, Samsung is currently offering a host of free extras and cashback deals on their products. We recently reported that Samsung is giving away £300 cashback with the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra - and now there's good news for mobile phone enthusiasts too. The Galaxy S25 Ultra comes with some hefty freebies for those who choose to purchase the handset or take out a contract. Sky is offering the Galaxy S25 Ultra for just £46 per month with an upfront cost of £12. Alongside this, customers will receive a complimentary Galaxy Tab A9+ tablet and a Galaxy Watch7. However, it's worth noting that the Sky contract spans 36 months, meaning over the course of the contract, customers will pay £1668, excluding any data costs. It's a cost-effective way to spread the payment, but customers will pay more in the long run while receiving numerous freebies. For those who decide to snap up the phone, they can visit this promotional page by Samsung to enter their details and claim the free items once they have the phone. But if shoppers want another phone, there's also Carphone Warehouse, which has a range of other deals to explore. And for Apple fans, Giffgaff also has a reasonable monthly price on its iPhone 16 Pro with a £24 a month plan with a slightly more expensive £25 upfront cost if users want to shop around. Tech gurus at the Daily Express have put the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra through its paces, and it's safe to say that they were thoroughly wowed by this AI-driven mobile wonder. Tech editor Dave Snelling remarked: "Samsung has done it again and produced another spectacularly good smartphone. The Galaxy S25 Ultra looks great, features a stunning 6.9-inch screen, a brilliant camera, long battery life, and that supremely quick Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. "It also gets all of those Galaxy AI upgrades that can organise your life, retouch your photos, chat to you like a human and bring live football scores straight to the home screen." Nevertheless, David found some aspects of the AI technology to be daunting, noting: " It's all clever stuff, but for some, it might just be a bit too smart. "There's so much Artificial Intelligence now included that it can all feel slightly overwhelming and only power users (and true AI geeks) are going to get close to scratching the surface of what this device can really do. "That doesn't make this a bad phone. In fact, it's a very good phone. It just feels like all of Samsung's development is going into the software rather than boosting the hardware. Perhaps the AI revolution in smartphones is happening because there's little else left to innovate or enhance. One might ponder whether a new phone is necessary at all - they say AI is the solution. "If the brilliant S24 Ultra gets the S25's Galaxy AI upgrades - and the price continues to fall due to its age - that might also be a better bet. However, if you really want the best Galaxy on the planet, then the S25 Ultra won't disappoint. It's a very, very smart phone!".

Carphone Warehouse is selling the latest iPhone with FREE Beats earbuds for £28p/m

SHOPPERS hunting for a new smartphone - and some earbuds to go with it - should head to Carphone Warehouse. The iPhone 16e, Apple's latest budget-friendly handset, is now available with a free pair of Beats Solo Buds. Apple iPhone 16e with FREE Beats Solo Buds: From £26.99p/m The iPhone 16e, which launched back in February, is Apple's latest effort to provide a more affordable option for those who don't want to shell out for its flagship models. Of course, like most things Apple, 'affordable' is a relative term, with the device starting at £599 - but in comparison to the standard iPhone 16 and its bigger siblings, the 16 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, it's a lot cheaper. Apple has made notable upgrades, too, when you compare it against the last budget-friendly handset, the 3rd-generation SE which came out in 2022. The Home button is gone, replaced by a sleek 6.1-inch OLED screen, and Face ID now replaces Touch ID. Apple has also switched to USB-C charging, so you can use the same cable for your phone, tablet, and other devices. The camera is upgraded too: though it has just one rear lens, it doubles as a telephoto with 2x zoom, perfect for portraits or zooming in without losing quality. Video capabilities shine with 4K Dolby Vision at 60fps, ideal for capturing high-quality footage. Battery life is another win, with up to 26 hours of video playback, easily lasting a full day or even two. And of course, there's that deal-sweetener: Carphone Warehouse is throwing in a free pair of Beats Solo Buds when you pick up the iPhone 16e on a pay-monthly plan. The Solo Buds are a straightforward and reliable set of earbuds that don't include premium features like noise cancellation but still deliver excellent sound quality. They're currently available for separately on Amazon for £79.99. These big-brand buds offer up to 18 hours of battery life, and with the quick-charge feature, you can get an hour of playback from just a 5-minute charge. They're also compatible with both iPhones and Android devices, so you won't have to worry about switching ecosystems if you ever decide to change your phone in the future. Carphone Warehouse iPhone 16e deals If you're in the market for a new phone and like the idea of getting a free pair of decent earbuds, this might be the perfect time to make the switch.
