These old DVDs could be worth hundreds of euros, according to experts

DVDs might be a thing of the past for most households, but certain disc collections stashed away could be worth a pretty penny according to experts. For anyone still holding onto a collection of DVDs, it might be worth checking if you could make some extra cash. Back in the days before streaming services like Now, Netflix and Disney Plus, cosy film nights at home were dependent on what was on the telly, or DVDs you had on the shelf - which could be now worth a few hundred euros. Bally Casino shared which DVDs are worth selling, with collectables expert Tracy Martin providing her expertise on recognising value and getting the most out of your items. According to The Express, the most expensive DVD is the Carry On Film Collection, which is a complete box set of all 31 films that were made over their 34-year span and the average price for the entire collection is a whopping €412. Coming in at second is the Monty Python and the Holy Grail, limited edition castle box set, which could get you €354. Blade Runner Ultimate collector's edition could also earn around €354 along with The Godfather box, also at around €354. Tracy said: "Collectable value can be due to rarity, different variants to the norm, oddities (misspelling on DVD cases or books), nostalgia - people buying back their memories, limited edition and basic supply and demand. "There are so many reasons things are collectable. People don't always recognise they have things of value which is why they turn to valuers like me or do their own research online. 'Always research to ensure you get the best price achievable for your collectable by looking to see what similar items have sold for in the past." The expert said for those looking to sell their old DVDs, the first thing is to find a good selling platform, to make sure you get a good price for your items. She also urged sellers to make sure they start at a reasonable price for the item they are selling.
