These old DVDs could be worth hundreds of euros, according to experts
Back in the days before streaming services like Now, Netflix and Disney Plus, cosy film nights at home were dependent on what was on the telly, or DVDs you had on the shelf - which could be now worth a few hundred euros.
Bally Casino shared which DVDs are worth selling, with collectables expert Tracy Martin providing her expertise on recognising value and getting the most out of your items.
According to The Express, the most expensive DVD is the Carry On Film Collection, which is a complete box set of all 31 films that were made over their 34-year span and the average price for the entire collection is a whopping €412.
Coming in at second is the Monty Python and the Holy Grail, limited edition castle box set, which could get you €354.
Blade Runner Ultimate collector's edition could also earn around €354 along with The Godfather box, also at around €354.
Tracy said: "Collectable value can be due to rarity, different variants to the norm, oddities (misspelling on DVD cases or books), nostalgia - people buying back their memories, limited edition and basic supply and demand.
"There are so many reasons things are collectable. People don't always recognise they have things of value which is why they turn to valuers like me or do their own research online.
'Always research to ensure you get the best price achievable for your collectable by looking to see what similar items have sold for in the past."
The expert said for those looking to sell their old DVDs, the first thing is to find a good selling platform, to make sure you get a good price for your items. She also urged sellers to make sure they start at a reasonable price for the item they are selling. The most valuable DVDs to sell: Carry On Films - Complete DVD Collection Box Set, 1958-1992, €412 Monty Python and the Holy Grail - Limited Edition Castle Box Set, 1975, €354 Blade Runner Ultimate Collector's Edition Briefcase, 1982, €354 The Godfather: The Coppola Restoration Limited Edition Blu-ray Box Set, 1972-1990, €354 The Avengers '62-64 - Emma Peel Mega Set, 1961-1969, €324 The Wicker Man - Wooden Box Limited Edition, 1973, €324 The World at War - Ultimate Restored Blu-ray Edition, 1973-1974, €324 Quatermass Collection - Limited Edition Box Set, 1953-1979, €324 Twin Peaks: The Entire Mystery Blu-ray Box Set, 1990-1991, €324 Peeping Tom (Criterion Collection Region 2), 1960, €235 Withnail & I - Limited Edition Tin Box, 1987, €206 The Beatles Anthology DVD Box Set, 1995, €206

Watch as popular Kerry race meeting launch ‘Be Part of the Drama' campaign
The centre-piece of the campaign is a two-minute short film, shot on location over four weeks in Kerry and Limerick. It stars a cast of familiar faces from the racing world and the wider community. The campaign was conceived and produced by Orla Diffily of Upfront PR, and directed and filmed by George Doyle of Neustock Media. Its inspiration came from a conversation between Orla and Brendan Bacon in the Secretary's Office at the June Race Meeting, where Brendan suggested the racing world needed its own Netflix-style series — much like Drive to Survive — to showcase the real excitement, personalities, and drama of a racing festival. It includes well-known horse trainer Eric McNamara, renowned racing photographer Pat Healy, local bookie Berkie Browne, solicitor Owen MacMahon, jockey Emily Costello, award-winning milliner Aoife Hannon, Chairman of Listowel Race Company, Maurice Carroll and many racegoers. The film builds excitement ahead of the much-anticipated Harvest Festival, taking place from Sunday 21st to Saturday 27th September. For more visit #listowelraces #bepartofthedrama Listowel Race Company and the production team extend their thanks to everyone who made the campaign possible, including Cathal O'Hare (TG4), The Listowel Arms Hotel, Killarney Race Company, Ger Mulvihill, Brenda Daly, Sydney Sargent, Anne O'Donnell, Yesunia Appiakorang, and Leon Nolan.
