All the Pride parades happening across the UK this summer

Cities and towns across the UK will be taking it in turns to celebrate Pride this summer with dozens of parades and events planned over the coming months While June is officially Pride Month, many cities and towns will be hosting their Pride events and parades over the summer - and they can range from small-scale marches to huge affairs with celebrity performers. Pride celebrations honour the LGBTQ+ community and bring together people from across the UK. Parades are a Pride staple, and consist of individuals marching together with floats made by community groups, charities, and companies. Let's take a look at the Pride parades set to take place over the coming months, including the full list of events on this summer... ‌ London London Pride will be held on July 5th and will be welcoming headline act Chaka Khan onto the Trafalgar Square stage. There will be more than 100 artists performing around central London on six different stages, including Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Golden Square, Soho Square, Dean Street, and a Family Stage. ‌ The Parade, set to start at 12pm and finish at 6pm, will run from Hyde Park Corner, through Piccadilly Circus, down to Trafalgar Square, before finishing at Whitehall Place. More than 500 groups will be taking part, making a total of 33,000 participants led by the Mayor of London. Bristol Bristol Pride will welcome more than 200 performers across five stages on The Downs, including Allie X, Kim Wilde, Cascada, and Brooke Lynn Hytes on July 12th. The walking parade will meet at 10am from the Bandstand end of Castle Park before setting off at 10.45am. The two-mile route will take about an hour to complete and will end at the Amphitheatre. Spray tan, teased hair and warm Red Bull: Remember when clubbing was fun?

Step back to a simpler time when Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights were for clubbing with your mates. Something to look forward to all week. The Presets and Cascada got us on the sticky d-floor and no one knew what a vape was. The heady mix of jagermeister, Polo Blue, JLo Glow and cigarette smoke hung in the air. A vodka Red Bull cost less than a tenner (you might even get two), sneakers were a fashion faux pas, concealer doubled as lipstick and applying a coat of Airbrush Legs was a necessary pre-party ritual. These were the golden days – or nights – of clubbing. Looking back at the Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights of the eighties, nineties and noughties is a sweet hit of nostalgia. Phriction at Penrith, Fanny's in Newcastle, Club Troppo on the Central Coast and the North Gong Hote l in the Illawarra were among the most popular spots and the most popular person apart from the DJ was the club photographer. Duck face, the awkward lean, peace signs and glowing red eyes were plentiful – this was pre-iPhone, so no filters. Newcastle institution Fanny's was a nineties paradise with revellers rocking their high-waisted jeans and bleached surfer locks before the noughties' tweezed eyebrows, side fringes and graphic tees took over. It was a hot spot for great music – Cold Chisel even played there in the nineties – and 'Best party place ever! If you didn't have a good time there, you weren't trying,' one regular recalled. Down the coast, Club Troppo not only brought in the locals but attracted townies too with lines snaking down the main drag at Gosford. It was renowned for great music and cheap drinks, with a former clubgoer lamenting: 'What has happened to our society where we can no longer have fun at a nightclub (they're mostly gone) let alone afford a bloody drink at one!' Redditors recall drinking $2 house wine and grenadine and NewsLocal reported that in the 2000s Red Bull and Carlton were popular with thousands selling every night. To the west in Penrith, guest DJs like Havana Brown spun Taio Cruz's Dynamite as youngsters sipped Smirnoff Ice. Patrons borrowed their looks from shows like The Hills and Jersey Shore – heavy-handed bronzer, black box-dyed hair, Madonna piercings, an addiction to hair gel – topped off with a fresh new fit from Glue. The boys wore spray-on jeans and shirts from Industrie and Goliath. Girls' dresses were cobalt, tangerine, aqua and fuchsia. A statement necklace, Diva headband and high, high Tony Bianco heels completed the look. If you have bunions in your mid-30s, then clubbing is most certainly to blame. Further south the North Gong Hotel was a little more chill with tanned, smiling uni students and professionals enjoying a knock-off beer in jeans, hoodies and beanies for the winter months. 'Makes me happy and sad. Happy that this was my heyday and it was awesome,' a former reveller remarked.

‘It was a shambles', rage angry fans after they were left queuing for Glasgow gig for TWO hours

FAN FURY 'It was a shambles', rage angry fans after they were left queuing for Glasgow gig for TWO hours Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) FURIOUS concertgoers who were left queuing for hours before a gig at Glasgow's Hydro last night have blasted venue bosses - claiming they 'couldn't organise a p*** up in a brewery'. Thousands of dance music fans flocked to the OVO arena on Sunday evening for the Bank Holiday Clubland Live show which was billed as 'The Biggest Night of Your Life'. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 1 Thousands of dance music fans flocked to the Hydro last night for the Clubland Live show Credit: OVO Hydro The star-studded lineup featured huge names like DJ Basshunter and noughties dance icon Cascada. And the "three-hour action-packed show" promised ticketholders a chance to "relive the classic tunes in a party atmosphere". But hundreds of revellers were left sorely disappointed after having to queue up for two hours and missing some of the gig. Doors opened at 6.30pm, with the event scheduled to start at 7 pm and end at 10.30pm. But scores of raging fans claimed they did not enter the venue until several hours after it began. Dozens of peeved-off concertgoers took to social media to share their frustration at the 'terrible' management of the event. One angry attendee wrote: "Well went to clubland at the Hydro in Glasgow. Organised f****** chaos, couldn't organise a p*** up in a brewery. Doors opened at 6.30pm, concerts starts at 7pm, and we are still outside at 7.55pm. F*** that. Home time. We were told we'd be another hour to get in." Another said: "It was terrible, we arrived at 6.20pm and never got in till 8.20pm. Missed half the show. People were being sick in the queue and peeing in cups." A third added: "It was ridiculous! Nearly two hours we waited and got in just after 8 and that was only because we went round to the other side to queue. No organisation of queues and overall it was a shambles." Meanwhile, other ravers told how they had a 'great time' at the show. Noughties dance act hasn't aged a day as she teams up with huge producer for comeback track One wrote: "I nearly cried when I saw the queue but we didn't wait in it long. Quite quick." Scots DJ George Bowie opened last night's show with his iconic GBX anthems. The Clyde 1 radio host, 54, wrote on Facebook: "The Clubland Events team absolutely smashed OVO Hydro last night, even Billy Gillies (Music) made a surprise appearance. What a night, getting to open the show with a GBX set and then perform the Whiskey Roll remix with Cammy Barnes & Outforce to 10,000 ravers was a moment to treasure forever." An SEC spokesperson said: 'The safety and security of our guests is our number one priority and we always do our best to ensure a quick entry process for our guests. "There were some challenges at the Clubland event with a small number of people, which meant it took our security team a little longer than usual to carry out all the necessary checks. "We apologise to anyone who was affected.'
