The 29-year-old star is currently filming her first massive Hollywood film with Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Evans and Salma Hayak - Sacrifice, an upcoming action adventure comedy film. The Sun can exclusively reveal that the hit Channel 4 show has snapped Ambika up, and she will appear in the upcoming Celebrity Bake Off series. "Bosses were thrilled to sign Ambika up - she's a fan of the show so loved doing it," a source told us. Channel 4 declined to comment. Ambika left viewers in floods of tears when she starred in hit Netflix series One Day. One Day follows university friends, Northern working-class Emma and posh Southern boy Dexter Mayhew, over 20 years. The series sees the pair revisit their relationship every year on July 15. Viewers were left in floods of "ugly tears" while watching the 10-part limited series for the first time. After watching the show, which is based on a novel, fans took to X and discussed how they felt about the emotionally charged ending. "Can we talk about the Netflix version of #OneDay now? I've never cried so much at a show in my life. I loved every minute," said one person at the time. Official trailer for 'One Day' on Netflix "This adaptation is so good already I feel sick #oneday #onedaynetflix," said another. While a third wrote: "Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall acted the hell out of their characters good for them. "You made me cry in an ugly way, but good for them." In one interview, Ambika opened up about how she relates to her One Day character Emma. Ambika Mod's career so far AT just 29 years of age, Ambika has a glowing career ahead - but let's take a brief look at her career so far. After studying at university, Ambika starred in a series of small films such as Fair Bnb, Granddaughter, The Sacrifice (aka Leila Margot) and Pet Name. Her breakthrough role then came when she played a starring role in This Is Going To Hurt where she played the role of Shruti Acharya, a struggling junior doctor. Ambika was then chosen for the 2022 BAFTA Breakthrough cohort and received the Broadcasting Press Guild Award for Best Actress for her role in This Is Going To Hurt. Her next role came as Emma in One Day, alongside Leo Woodall. She won the Netflix New Talent award for the role. She said: "I do relate to Emma. "We're both hard grafters, people on the outskirts. "Emma's spent three years at the same uni as Dexter and he hasn't really noticed her. "I was also a bit of a wallflower growing up. "I wasn't invited to parties and I never won a school prize.' Ambika comes from humble beginnings and has worked hard to get to where she is. She grew up in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, with her younger sister Priya and their parents, who are both Indian immigrants. 5 The new Celeb Bake Off series is gearing up to be a good one Credit: Channel 4 / Mark Bourdillon / Love Productions

I'm A Celeb star swaps the jungle for the kitchen as they sign up for Celeb Bake Off alongside Molly-Mae and JoJo Siwa

The comedian was involved in an all-time classic I'm A Celeb moment STAR BAKER I'm A Celeb star swaps the jungle for the kitchen as they sign up for Celeb Bake Off alongside Molly-Mae and JoJo Siwa Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) HE had Ant and Dec in stitches during his time on I'm A Celeb, now a popular comedian will bring laughs to the Celebrity Bake Off tent. "He's not known for his prowess in the kitchen so there's sure to be some panicky moments laced with the good humour he's known for. "His energy on the Gogglebox sofa has always been pure positivity and very infectious, and bosses are hoping he'll bring that to the tent." Those who tuned into I'm A Celeb 2022 will remember how Babatunde kickstarted the show in epic fashion. He grappled with his fear of heights at the top of a huge tower on the Gold Coast, screaming in terror as he was faced with walking out on a thin plank high above the ground. It eventually proved too much and he yelled the words "I'm a celebrity... get me out of here." His signing for Bake Off follows our exclusive story that Molly-Mae will swap the high stakes world of fashion for the heat in the kitchen. She has been placed firmly in the spotlight since her break-up last year with Tommy Fury, which was chronicled in her Prime Video documentary, Molly-Mae: Behind it All. Their reunion was then captured on camera and published exclusively in The Sun, where they were seen kissing at a New Year's Eve event. The second half of her series, which landed last month, showed their reunion. Molly-Mae fans 'horrified' after spotting weird kitchen detail in latest episode of documentary - did you see it? Another reality TV star, Jojo Siwa, has also signed up for the Celebrity Bake Off, just weeks after starring on Celebrity Big Brother. The celebrity version of the Bake Off, whose participants have yet to be confirmed by C4, is being made just before filming of the "civilian" version. The show begins filming this summer with Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond returning to host as well as Paul Hollywood coming back to give the celebs some serious scrutiny in the tent. Channel 4 star Prue Leith has stepped back from all GBBO specials, with cooking expert, and pal, Caroline Waldegrave filling her shoes. Last year, The Sun revealed how Prue had made the decision to step back from the Great British Bake Off specials and focus on the regular series. Channel 4 declined to comment and have yet to confirm any of the celebrities for the show. 4 Babatunde starred in the jungle in 2022 Credit: Rex
