JoJo Siwa confirms relationship with Chris Hughes: 'Absolutely head over heels'
JoJo Siwa is opening up about her relationship with TV personality Chris Hughes. The " Dance Moms" alum confirmed her relationship with Hughes during a recent interview with The Guardian, calling it a "beautiful connection." "It's not platonic anymore," Siwa said. "It's been a beautiful development." She added, "I'm absolutely head over heels for him and he's the same way." Hughes and Siwa's friendship began earlier this year on "Celebrity Big Brother UK," where they were both contestants. In the "Big Brother" house, Hughes stood up for Siwa after co-contestant Mickey Rourke grilled her about her sexuality. Siwa, who announced in 2021 that she was part of the LGBTQ+ community, told The Guardian that the interaction with Rourke "made me super upset," and that it was "really hard to take." But Siwa said that Hughes and others in the house supported her. While on the show, Siwa opened up further about her sexuality. "I've always told myself I'm a lesbian, and I think being here I've realized: 'Oh, I'm not a lesbian, I'm queer.' And I think that's really cool," she said at the time, according to People. Since "Celebrity Big Brother," Siwa and Hughes have shared several posts on social media about each other, fueling romance rumors. Last week, Siwa shared a series of photos from her birthday week, which featured a sweet photo of her and Hughes. Hughes also shared a carousel of loving photos of him and Siwa last month. "I won't ever speak for him, but for me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now," Siwa said of Hughes, speaking to The Guardian this week. "Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks; I've never [before] been in pain from smiling so much."

It's official: JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes are dating. Granted, it's not like the Celebrity Big Brother UK stars were doing much to hide their relationship. Since escaping the Big Brother house, the two have been posting about each other on Instagram nonstop and were even spotted kissing. But, in case you needed final confirmation, JoJo confirmed the relationship with Chris in a new interview. 'It's not platonic anymore, and it's been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection,' she told The Guardian. 'I'm absolutely head over heels for him and he's the same way.' JoJo, who apparently calls Chris 'sweet Christopher,' also pushed back on rumors that the relationship was a showmance for the Big Brother cameras, saying, 'This is a very genuine connection—we're not faking a thing.' She later added that she's so happy, 'Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks; I've never [before] been in pain from smiling so much.' Meanwhile, Chris recently gushed over JoJo and her family in an interview with House of Cavani. While answering fan questions, Chris said he hoped that JoJo and her family would meet his one day soon and called JoJo his 'favorite person' and 'favorite human.' Fans watched JoJo and Chris develop a close friendship on Big Brother, with many immediately wondering if there was something more going on between them. Speculation escalated when, less than a few days after leaving the show, JoJo broke up with her then partner Kath Ebbs (they/them). A few weeks later in an interview on the breakup with Betches, they said, 'I feel a bit like I've been this pawn that's been moved around in this story by Big Brother, by JoJo, by her PR team, by the tabloids.' Referencing her ex, JoJo told The Guardian that she was 'choosing peace,' adding, 'You're never gonna know the full truth—and I can't be bothered to fill anybody in.' One thing she is prepared to make clear, however, is her evolving sexual identity. Though she previously identified as gay, JoJo told The Guardian that she most identifies with being queer—for now. During her time on the show, JoJo opened up about exploring her gender identity and realizing that she identifies as queer, rather than a lesbian. Though JoJo was in a relationship with Australian influencer Kath Ebbs at the beginning of the show, she wound up breaking up with them at the show's wrap party — after a season of getting progressively closer to Chris. In a new interview with the Guardian, JoJo was asked about the attention given to her and Chris and whether or not it bothers her. "People can see our chemistry, and they got to see it develop," she replied. 'I think everyone's just curious, and I can't blame them.' When asked outright if the relationship was romantic, after a long pause, JoJo said, 'It's not platonic any more, and it's been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I'm absolutely head over heels for him and he's the same way.' As for whether or not the whole thing is a PR stunt, she further said, 'Clearly, you've never been around us. I won't ever speak for him, but for me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now.
