JoJo Siwa Confirms She's Dating Chris Hughes
It's official: JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes are dating. Granted, it's not like the Celebrity Big Brother UK stars were doing much to hide their relationship. Since escaping the Big Brother house, the two have been posting about each other on Instagram nonstop and were even spotted kissing. But, in case you needed final confirmation, JoJo confirmed the relationship with Chris in a new interview.
'It's not platonic anymore, and it's been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection,' she told The Guardian. 'I'm absolutely head over heels for him and he's the same way.' JoJo, who apparently calls Chris 'sweet Christopher,' also pushed back on rumors that the relationship was a showmance for the Big Brother cameras, saying, 'This is a very genuine connection—we're not faking a thing.' She later added that she's so happy, 'Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks; I've never [before] been in pain from smiling so much.'
Meanwhile, Chris recently gushed over JoJo and her family in an interview with House of Cavani. While answering fan questions, Chris said he hoped that JoJo and her family would meet his one day soon and called JoJo his 'favorite person' and 'favorite human.' (When asked about his relationship status, he said, 'Happy.')
Fans watched JoJo and Chris develop a close friendship on Big Brother, with many immediately wondering if there was something more going on between them. Speculation escalated when, less than a few days after leaving the show, JoJo broke up with her then partner Kath Ebbs (they/them). A few weeks later in an interview on the breakup with Betches, they said, 'I feel a bit like I've been this pawn that's been moved around in this story by Big Brother, by JoJo, by her PR team, by the tabloids.'
Referencing her ex, JoJo told The Guardian that she was 'choosing peace,' adding, 'You're never gonna know the full truth—and I can't be bothered to fill anybody in.'
One thing she is prepared to make clear, however, is her evolving sexual identity. Though she previously identified as gay, JoJo told The Guardian that she most identifies with being queer—for now. 'There's a lot of different sexual identities,' she said. 'I think there's nothing more beautiful than somebody discovering themselves.'

These celebrities who came out in 2025 are reminding us that coming out can still be a powerful tool for self-empowerment and raising awareness that LGBTQ+ people can look any way and come from anywhere. Celebrities who came out in 2024 included Maren Morris, Kelly Marie Tran, Tom Hollander, and Amanda Tori Meating came out. In 2025, a new list of stars have embraced their most authentic selves. Known for starring in the Pitch Perfect movies and the Netflix show You, actor Anna Camp casually came out this year in a TikTok interview where she was asked what she expects from a guy on a date. "Well, I don't expect anything from a guy anymore because I'm dating a woman, and it's great," she answered, gesturing to her girlfriend Jade Whipkey. Actor, comedian, and performer Paul Reubens, best known for his Pee-wee Herman character, came out in the documentary Pee-wee as Himself, which premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. Reubens, who passed away in 2023 at the age of 70, would often make veiled references to his sexuality late in his career, but didn't come out until the posthumous documentary. Dancer, singer, and reality star JoJo Siwa had a busy time coming out on Celebrity Big Brother UK this year. "I think stepping into this new identity, while also being more proud of my Blackness, makes me feel closer to them in some way." Rose is the lead singer of the music group The Vandoliers. She came out as trans to Rolling Stone. "I've always been very arms-length with people because of this," she said. "I didn't want anybody to ever find out about it. For 26 years, I've tried to be anything but a trans person, and it never went away."
