Despite his progress, star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum should not play next season
Despite his progress, star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum should not play next season. Or at least that is the point of view of the hosts of the CLNS Media "Celtics Beat" podcast, Adam Kaufman and Evan Valenti, in a conversation with guest Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston on a recent episode of their show. With the offseason news cycle being as dead as it tends to be in the months of July and August, clips of the St. Louis native walking around with a boot on the foot he injured the Achilles tendon of are getting a fair amount of attention. And with that attention comes hopes for an early return to action for Tatum, which the Celtics Beat hosts are vehemently against. Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about what the Duke alum ought to sit out until the 2026-27 NBA season. Is there any team in the NBA that has worse frontcourt depth in the NBA than the Boston Celtics?
Is there any team in the NBA that has worse frontcourt depth in the NBA than the Boston Celtics? Even when the storied ball club won its 2024 NBA Championship, the Celtics did not exactly have the stoutest big man rotation, with Latvian center Kristaps Porzingis missing large chunks of the regular season and playoffs due to injury and vet big Al Horford sitting out back-to-back games to avoid the decline in play seen when Horford was on court for too many minutes. Reserve center Luke Kornet turned out to be better than many thought, but now all three are no longer with Boston, leaving just Neemias Queta and Xavier Tillman Sr. from last season's big rotation on the roster. With them are new signee Luka Garza and recently-drafted Amari Williams on a two way deal, and it seems unlikely that Boston will be adding more bigs to the team this offseason. The hosts of the CLNS Media "Celtics Beat" podcast, Adam Kaufman and Evan Valenti, linked up with Celtics analyst Dan Greenberg to talk over where Boston stands in the league in terms of their big man rotation. Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about whether Boston has the worst frontcourt depth in the NBA. Are the Boston Celtics in the bottom tier of the NBA's Eastern Conference?
Are the Boston Celtics in the bottom tier of the NBA's Eastern Conference after their series of cost-cutting roster moves this offseason? The Celtics chose to move on from costly players like Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis, and after his free agency signing, Luke Kornet, to reshape their roster while star forward Jayson Tatum is out for the season while he rehabs his Achilles tendon injury. The lower-cost players that the team's front office signed (Luka Garza and Josh Minott) or drafted (Hugo Gonzalez, Amari Williams, and Max Shulga) to replace them do not exactly move the needle in terms of their potential impact. Just how big of a step back is Boston taking for the coming 2025-26 NBA season? The hosts of the CLNS Media "Celtics Beat" podcast, Adam Kaufman and Evan Valenti, took some time on a recent episode of their show to talk it over with guest Brian Barrett of the Ringer. The Boston Celtics will make some trades that will upset their fans this NBA offseason
The Boston Celtics will make some trades that will upset their fans this NBA offseason. Or at least that is the point of view that former Celtics beat writer and current NBA analyst for Heavy Dot Com Steve Bulpett. Speaking on a recent episode of the the CLNS Media "Celtics Beat" podcast, hosts Adam Kaufman and Evan Valenti took some time to talk about the possibilities of Boston making some drastic trades this summer with Bulpett. The collective bargaining agreement (CBA)'s second apron penalties are having their desires effects on the Celtics, and the general consensus is that veteran players on costly contracts like Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis could be on the move to get ahead of a potentially historic tax bill (and the penalties it will bring with it). Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about what Boston might elect to do this offseason.
