MSU football to reportedly host in-state 4-star WR for unofficial visit
Michigan State football will host one of the top in-state 2027 prospects for its season-opener later this month. Chad Willis of Orchard Lake, Mich. will reportedly visit Michigan State for the Spartans' season-opener against Western Michigan on August 29. Jason Killop of On3 reported the notable upcoming recruiting visit for Willis to Michigan State. Willis is a four-star wide receiver with a recruiting rating of 91.04 in 247Sports' composite system. He ranks as the No. 30 wide receiver and No. 224 overall prospect in 247Sports' rankings for the 2027 class. He is also listed as the No. 3 player from Michigan in the class. Michigan State has already previously extended an offer to Willis, and is one of more than 20 schools to also offer him, according to 247Sports. He also holds notable offers from Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Duke, Louisville, Michigan, Minnesota, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, Toledo, Western Kentucky, Bowling Green, Southern Miss and Miami (OH). Spartans offer highly-touted in-state 2027 prospect from recent pipeline school Michigan State football offers in-state athlete Chad Willis of Orchard Lake St. Mary's Michigan State football has extended a scholarship offer to an in-state prospect from a recent pipeline program for the Spartans. Chad Willis of Orchard Lake, Mich. announced he received a scholarship from the Spartans late last week. Willis is an athlete prospect that plays for Michigan high school football powerhouse Orchard Lake St. Mary's -- who has recently sent a number of players to Michigan State. Willis is currently an unranked prospect in the 2027 class. He is listed at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, according to 247Sports. Michigan State is one of nearly 20 programs to extend an offer to Willis, according to 247Sports. Other programs to offer Willis includes Duke, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, Minnesota, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Miami (OH), Southern Miss, Toledo, UMass and Western Michigan.
