Drumbeats & echoes of ‘Jai Hind' at Delhi govt's Shaurya Samman Yatra to honour armed forces, Op Sindoor

The march saw participation by National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets, Civil Defence volunteers, advocates at Delhi High Court and Supreme Court, BJP workers, and Delhi residents. Three days after India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Delhi government organised a 'Shaurya Samman Yatra' in support of Operation Sindoor to honour the valour and efforts of the Indian Armed Forces. New Delhi: Amid light drizzle and with the spirited beats of the song Chak De India playing in the backdrop, over a thousand people marched down the Kartavya Path to the National War Memorial in New Delhi Tuesday with the Indian Tricolour in their hands, chanting 'Jai Hind' and 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' in unison. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also joined the rally with a placard that read: 'The Indian Armed Forces Are Our Pride', along with the words 'Operation Sindoor'. She was accompanied by several BJP leaders, including Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Parvesh Verma, Delhi's Minister of Law and Justice Kapil Mishra, MP Bansuri Swaraj, and Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva. The BJP has launched an 11-day nationwide 'Tiranga Yatra' to celebrate the 'success of Operation Sindoor'. Several young women NCC cadets, who were present at the rally, spoke of the pride they felt participating in the event, calling it a meaningful way to 'show their respect and stand with those who protect the nation'. Among them was 19-year-old Hrishika Sharma, whose sister is a third-generation Army officer currently posted in Jammu. 'I'm here today for her, and for all our armed forces who are out there protecting us,' she said. 'My mother served in the Army, so did my maternal grandfather—I carry forward their legacy with pride.' Sharma said that her sister witnessed Pakistan's drone attacks last week up close. 'It's frightening to know what she faces, but I also understand that she's doing her duty. If I were in her place, I would have done the same,' she said. Recalling a conversation with her sister from two days ago, Sharma said, 'She was anxious, but calm. That's the kind of strength she has.' Piyush, law aspirant and Class 12 student from Sarvodaya Co-ed Vidyalaya in Sultanpur Majra, attended the march with his schoolmates. He said, 'We are here to support the Indian Army so they know they're not alone in this.' Meyikarga, 35, had her 'Aking'—a traditional woven skirt from Arunachal Pradesh—wrapped around her waist. Though no one in her family serves in the armed forces, her commitment to the country was clear. She said, 'The armed forces may not be my family by blood, but they protect us like family. I'm here because we stand united, no matter what.' (Edited by Mannat Chugh)

King Khan said, 'I think I would suggest everybody to make a film. I would suggest people that there is the desire now because of social media, everybody wants to be seen. We stop seeing ourselves. So I would just tell everybody to watch films, because I just know making films is as difficult as easy as any other business. It'll have its pitfalls. It'll have its highs. You have to just work hard diligently. Do your thing. Believe in your talent and your skill. Hone it as you go along.' STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD He also said, 'Don't let bad days bring you down. Bollywood musicians Salim-Sulaiman confess Ishq Wala Love for college students at NSUT fest in Delhi

Heart-shaped red hued confetti dripping from the sky made last Saturday's evening magically romantic as Bollywood's popular music composer/producer duo Salim-Sulaiman sang Ishq Wala Love at the annual cultural fest of Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), Moksha'25. Setting the romantic tone right, the popular artistes compelled a crowd of almost 25,000 students to sing along in a soulful chorus. Soon Sulaiman said on stage: 'We want to share some love with you. Ek kahawat hai, saath gaane se pyar badhta hai, toh kyun na aisa gaana gayein jo aap humare saath gayenge. Toh surkh waala, soz waala, faiz waala, hum chahte hain ki aap humare saath gayein Ishq Wala Love.' To soak in this experience, students from across the Capital flocked to NSUT's campus in Dwarka and many queued up to get entry well within time before the concert began. 'Salim is my childhood crush, so it was like a dream come true to watch him perform live,' confessed Swastika Khanna, a second-year student of History (Hons) at Delhi University's Kalindi College, adding, 'The entry was so smooth that I got here alongwith my friends at around 3pm and by 3.15pm we were all inside the campus. We even stocked up on water so that we didn't have to budge from our spot in between the performance.' The duo indeed had the crowd hooked to their every beat, be it during the high-energy hits such as Ainvayi Ainvayi or patriotism-infused Chak De India; when they held the National Flag to pay tribute to the country's sports stars. This isn't all for the crowd's screams reached a crescendo when the two were joined in on stage by Bollywood singers Raj Pandit, Vipul Mehta, and Kavya Limaye. This is what paved the way for one of the most heartfelt moments of this gig as lyrics of Shukran Allah filled the air and left the entire crowd swaying and singing in unison! Dedicating the song to the audience, Salim said: 'I want to thank each and every one of you as Moksha is one of the biggest festivals in the college circuit, and I'm truly proud to be here.' With several youngsters wondering what's the instrument that Sulaiman carried with him on stage — looks like a guitar with buttons — the singer graciously quenched their curiosity by revealing: 'Ladies and gentlemen, this instrument is called a Zendrum. Ismei kaafi sare sounds hain; I can play big drums for Kurbaan Hua as well as tabla for Ishq Wala Love.' Before the concert, the campus was abuzz with cultural activities as multiple competitions and performances took place simultaneously. These ranged from dating booths and push-up contests to cosplay battles and fashion shows. Dressed in blood-splattered clothes and a chainsaw mask was Priyank Arya, a student of a Noida-based University, who told us: 'I came to attend the fest to be able to participate in the cosplay competition. The character I chose is Denji from the anime Chainsaw Man.'
