The actress who shot the film in 2022 called it a 'beautiful, impactful film made with a big heart'. Renuka stated that she is totally heartbroken with this news, and the primary reason is that everyone has put in a lot of effort. She further added that even Anushka had worked on herself so much for it. 'Whatever scenes I did were so powerful and so impactful, especially for women in sports.' 'Chakda 'Xpress had that core quality of sportsmanship," added the actress. Renuka also spoke about Anushka Sharma 's performance as Jhulan Goswami and could not stop praising her. Shahane said that she has done a good job of creating that character. 'It's so difficult to do because when icons are there in front of us and you have to perform as them, it is even more challenging." The actress concluded by saying that she wished there was some way that this beautiful film could be salvaged. Well, we are sure many fans at the moment wish for the same. We can only wait for an official announcement now.

After becoming a mother in 2021, the actor was all set to return to films with Chakda 'Xpress, where she would play the role of Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami. The film began shooting in mid-2022 and was wrapped by the end of that year. The movie was expected to premiere on Netflix. However, later reports claimed that the deal with the OTT platform had been cancelled, raising doubts about the release. Has the film been shelved? Recently, there have been strong rumours that Chakda 'Xpress has been shelved. This has surprised many, considering the shoot had already been completed. Actor Renuka Shahane, who plays a key role in the film, spoke to NDTV and addressed these reports. She said, 'I am totally heartbroken. Basically, because I think everyone has put in so much effort. Anushka has also worked on herself so much for it. And whatever scenes I did were so powerful and so impactful, especially for women in sports' A few days earlier, actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya also shared his thoughts with News18, saying, 'It is a fantastic film and I am eagerly waiting for its release.' He added that it was Anushka's best performance so far. However, when asked about the shelved rumours, Dibyendu said, 'I have no idea about it.' No official word from Anushka Sharma Anushka, however, has not commented on the situation so far. She had announced the film in January 2022 with a long note saying, 'It is a really special film because it is essentially a story of tremendous sacrifice.' She then updated fans in July 2022 by posting about the completion of the film's first schedule. A sea of fans erupted in front of the bus, Bengaluru local administration was seen trying very hard to contain the ever increasing crowd as the streets buzzed with excitement after RCB touched down in the city after travelling from Ahmedabad.
