"Music is a powerful medium to showcase emotions; it connects straight to the heart," says Chandana Ananthakrishna on her Independence day tribute
Kannada actress Chandana Ananthakrishna has released an emotional musical album, In His Name, which has been receiving an overwhelming response from audiences. The song, created with Mayur Ambekallu and Thejas Kiran, is a heartfelt homage to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The narrative of the song revolves around a newly married couple on their honeymoon in Pahalgam, who become victims of the attack. The tragedy claimed at least 26 lives, including Navy officer Vinay Narwal, who was killed during his honeymoon, a story that deeply moved Chandana. The music video, filmed in Bengaluru and Ooty, features Nidarshan as Vinay and Chandana as his wife Himanshi. She explained that the song came before the video.'It was first the song that was recorded, and then the thought of shooting it came to mind. It was the director's call and his story. Since the story had the essence of patriotism, we wanted to release it on Independence Day,' she said. Interestingly, Chandana also turned producer for the project, a decision she hadn't planned. 'Oh! Producing just happened, I had no plans to produce the song. Since I am also newly married, it synced perfectly to bring in the emotions. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Indonesia: New Container Houses (Prices May Surprise You) Container House | Search ads Search Now Undo The transition was an emotional one to shoot. We shot in Ooty to bring the nativity of Pahalgam, very symbolic.' The actress admits she had goosebumps when she first heard the story.'Bringing out such a deep story in just 5 minutes, in the era of web series and films, is a huge challenge. This story is worth being a web series or a movie. We worked hard on the chemistry and emotions. We even had a week-long workshop before going on the floor.' For Chandana, music is the soul of the project. 'Music is indeed a powerful medium to showcase emotions and stories that words alone cannot express. Music plays an important role in everything; it connects straight to the heart.' As the song continues to win hearts online, Chandana is overwhelmed by the reception. 'The response has been amazing. People are reaching out to say they were moved to tears. That's the biggest reward for all of us who worked on this.'

Freedom 'bole toh'? India's youth want equality and free will
As India gears up to celebrate its 79th Independence Day this year, much has changed, from the design of its currency and flags to the very idea of freedom. In the 21st century, the meaning of freedom has evolved and taken on new dimensions for the young true that the country has changed dramatically since its Independence, be it politically, socially, or culturally, but the spirit of being a free country still remains youth have grown up in a hyper-connected world, and their idea of the word "freedom" shows their commitment towards nation building. Independence, for them, is not only about being free from colonial rule but also about the presence of opportunity, rights, safety, and the ability to live their lives on their own DOES FREEDOM MEAN? For many, independence is not only about waving the tricolour but also about feeling safe in their own country. Tanisha, a young media professional, says, "Freedom, for me, is about beijng able to walk without any fear of being stalked or harassed on the streets."Further, she adds, "There should be no premium attached to safety. I'm not asking for the moon, just to exist without fear." These are not mere words but expressions that reflect the sentiment of the THE INVISIBLE STRINGSThe heart of independence lies in autonomy, where people have the right to think, speak, and steer their lives without being suppressed. Chandana, a student, sums it up: "Independence is being able to speak, think, and move without any restrictions imposed on us." A "free" India gives us all the liberty to exist sans this forward, Rajpreet, a postgraduate student, adds, "True freedom means my strings can't be pulled at will. That strength, that autonomy, is everything."In a society where personal choices can easily get derailed due to traditions, politics, and unwritten rules of society, these young voices stand firm on their take on MEANS ACTIONFor many young dreamers, freedom is not only an individual concern, but rather it's a mission to change. Freedom to have the power to choose where to live and how to live with an open hand to help a student pursuing graduation, says, "For me, freedom is to have a choice, to have agency, to be free to live wherever and however I like, to become a person who can help those in need in many aspects, and to be able to ask for help when needed."While for Shubh, pursuing a postgraduate degree from a reputed college in Delhi, it is more implicit: "Crumbling down patriarchy," which, he feels, is essential to achieving vision of "freedom" is actually a call to action. This Video Of Woman ‘Aura Farming' On Rolls-Royce Is Trending For All Wrong Reasons
Last Updated: An influencer recreated the viral "Aura Farming" dance while sitting on a moving Rolls-Royce Phantom's bonnet. The 'Aura Farming' dance trend has taken the internet by storm. It all started with a viral video of a young boy from Indonesia performing funny hand gestures during a traditional boat race. Since then, many people around the world have recreated the trend, not just on boats, but even on cars, including some very expensive ones. One such video, now gaining attention, features social media influencer Chandana Narayanswamy. In the clip, she is seen performing the aura farming dance while sitting on the bonnet of a moving Rolls-Royce Phantom. The luxury car is one of the most expensive sedans in the world, making the stunt even more eye-catching and controversial. Chandana shared the video on her Instagram page, where she usually posts lifestyle and fashion content. In this particular video, she is seen sitting on the front of the Phantom while the car is in motion. The vehicle, registered in Maharashtra, appears to have been rented for a photo shoot or reel and was likely filmed on private property in Karnataka. Chandana tries to recreate the Indonesian boy's signature dance moves while the car moves slowly forward. Thankfully, she is not standing on the car, which would have been far riskier. While the stunt is still attention-seeking, the fact that it wasn't done on a public road and involved sitting rather than standing has spared her from harsher backlash or legal trouble, at least for now. Did She Turn Off Comments? Shared on August 2, the video garnered over 41,000 views. Interestingly, the post has no comments visible, which suggests that the comment section might have been turned off. This could be a way to avoid criticism, as such stunts often receive negative feedback online. Although the video might seem harmless, sitting on the bonnet of a moving car, especially a high-value one like a Rolls-Royce, still raises safety concerns. While her execution was less risky than others, it is still part of a growing trend of social media stunts done purely for viral attention. Others Who Did the Same, But Faced Trouble Chandana isn't the only one jumping on the 'Aura Farming' bandwagon. Earlier, Telugu actress Rashi Singh was seen doing a similar stunt on the bonnet of a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG. While she added a disclaimer asking viewers not to copy her, she was heavily trolled after the video went viral and later had to address the backlash. Another alarming incident involved a woman standing on the bonnet of a Mercedes-Benz C-Class while filming a similar video. Her friend, who was driving, suddenly applied the brakes, and she fell onto the bonnet. This happened on a public road, a far more dangerous location. The clip went viral, and police took swift action. @MumbaiPolice @MTPHereToHelp Can you please take strict action on this? These idiot instagrammers are setting up trends where people get influenced in the wrong Way.. her instagram id is -> Video shot in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai 410210. — Máhesh (@TweetToMahesh) July 22, 2025 Authorities tracked the vehicle, detained the individuals involved, and filed a criminal case under the BNS and Motor Vehicles Act. A Dangerous Trend with Real Risks While such stunts may seem fun or trendy, they can be extremely dangerous. Doing them on public roads not only puts the performer at risk but also endangers other drivers. Authorities have made it clear that such behaviour will not be tolerated, and legal action can be taken. Unfortunately, many still chase viral fame without thinking about the consequences, proving that some people don't learn from others' mistakes. Man leaves tap open to erase trace before fleeing with Rs 30L from prof's house
Bengaluru: A miscreant broke into the locked home of a college professor in Nagarabhavi 2nd Stage and escaped with gold, diamond jewellery, and cash worth over Rs 30 lakh. In a bid to cover his tracks, he turned on a kitchen tap before fleeing, flooding the house in a bid to destroy his footprints and mislead the sniffer dogs. The victim, Chandana (name changed), had left her home on July 20 to stay at her parents' house in Mallathahalli while her husband was abroad. She ensured multiple safety measures were in place — she had secured the house with metal grills over doors, installed CCTV cameras, and even suspended daily deliveries like milk and newspapers — to ensure the house does not attract the attention of thieves. She also asked her domestic helper of four years to visit the house every morning to water the plants and clean the front yard. The helper, however, did not have access to the locked house, police said. On Saturday morning, the helper noticed the front door ajar and immediately alerted Chandana. Inside, the hall and kitchen were flooded with water, with a tap left running in an apparent attempt by the burglar to erase any evidence. Following the alert, Chandana rushed back to discover the iron grill gate had been forcefully broken, followed by the main wooden door. The bedroom upstairs was ransacked, with almirahs and cupboards broken open and valuables missing. According to a police officer, the break-in appeared to be the work of a single individual who spent nearly two hours inside the house before fleeing. Annapoorneshwarinagar police, along with the Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) team, have intensified investigation.

WE Hub to handhold women entrepreneurs from smaller towns of Telangana
Telangana government's WE Hub has launched a programme to give wings to entrepreneurial potential among women from tier 2 and 3 regions of the State. The first two cohorts, comprising 120 aspiring women entrepreneurs selected through district-level bootcamps, of the WE Reach programme were launched by Hyderabad collector Hari Chandana Dasari. WE Reach will provide comprehensive, end-to-end support to women at the ideation stage, helping them move towards establishing sustainable businesses, WE Hub said in a release. Capacity building is at the heart of initiative and it is to be achieved through inculcating business skills, financial and digital literacy awareness creation, mentorship, familiarisation visits to MSME enterprises. Assistance to set up units also figures in the programme to equip participants with requisite tools to start and scale their enterprises. 'Empowering women entrepreneurs at the grassroots is crucial for inclusive development. Programmes like WE Reach not only create economic opportunities for women but also drive long-term social transformation in our communities,' Ms. Chandana said. WE Reach is a significant step towards inclusive growth and equitable access to entrepreneurial opportunities, WE Hub CEO Sita Pallacholla said, adding that the women entrepreneurs are not only stepping into the world of business but are also on the path to economic empowerment and formalising their business ventures.
