VIJAYAWADA: NTR District Collector G Lakshmisha and Vijayawada City Commissioner of Police (CP) SV Rajasekhar Babu stated that devotees will be given top priority during the upcoming Dasara festivities at Sri Kanaka Durga temple on Indrakeeladri, with preparations already underway to ensure a smooth and memorable experience. 'Taking inspiration from last year's successful celebrations, we are integrating technology and AI tools to enhance the overall experience for devotees,' they said. The 11-day Dasara fete is scheduled to begin from September 22 to October 2. The first coordination meeting was held at the Collectorate on Tuesday, where officials discussed arrangements for special pujas, alankarams, queue lines, barricading, online and spot booking counters, sanitation, water supply, showers at ghats, parking, passes, and the security system. Addressing the media, Collector Lakshmisha said around 1 lakh devotees are expected to visit daily, with the number rising to 1.5 lakh on Moola Nakshatram. A 24x7 Command Control Centre will monitor the rush. Special arrangements will be made for devotees participating in events like Laksha Kumkumarchana and Chandi Homam. Focus will be laid on queue lines, distribution of Laddu Prasadam, Annaprasadam, drinking water, and sanitation. He instructed departments to complete all arrangements by September 20. Police Commissioner Rajasekhar Babu said strict measures will be implemented to prevent inconvenience to pilgrims. 'Last year, we had only three or four drones. This year, 42 drones and about 5,000 CCTV cameras in the Vijayawada Commissionerate will be used for surveillance,' he said. Traffic and parking management is also being prioritised. The CP added that coordination meetings and field visits will be held over the next 50 days to ensure the success of the festival in a spiritually vibrant atmosphere. Temple EO VK Seena Naik said the Navaratri celebrations of Goddess Kanaka Durga will be organised in a grand manner. Joint Collector S Ilakkiya and others were present.

Gadwal: On the occasion of Amavasya, a significant spiritual event was observed at the revered Sri Jogulamba Bala Brahmeshwara Swamy Temple in Alampur, Jogulamba Gadwal district. As part of the sacred observances, a Chandi Homam was conducted at the temple premises, drawing participation from 220 devotees. Among the notable attendees were prominent leaders from the Indian National Congress (INC). AICC Secretary and Telangana In-charge Mr. Viswanath, accompanied by AICC Secretary and former Alampur MLA Dr. SA Sampath Kumar, paid a solemn visit to the temple and offered prayers to the deities. The leaders were joined by Telangana Finance Corporation Chairman Mr. Deepak John and District Observer Mr. Venkatesh, who also took part in the spiritual proceedings. The Chandi Homam, a powerful Vedic ritual dedicated to Goddess Durga (Chandi), is traditionally performed to invoke divine blessings, seek protection from negative influences, and ensure prosperity and peace. Held on the auspicious new moon day (Amavasya), the ritual witnessed enthusiastic participation from the devotees, temple priests, and spiritual seekers. The leaders also interacted with devotees and temple authorities, emphasizing the importance of preserving Telangana's spiritual heritage and supporting temple development initiatives. Speaking on the occasion, former MLA Sampath Kumar expressed deep reverence for the temple's historical and spiritual significance and pledged to support its continued growth and preservation. The presence of key political figures at the event added a distinct prominence, blending devotion with public engagement, and underlining the cultural importance of the Sri Jogulamba temple, which is one of the Astha Dasha Shakti Peethas of Goddess Shakti. Temple authorities thanked the visiting dignitaries and devotees for their participation and concluded the day's rituals with traditional offerings and blessings.

WARANGAL: In a gesture of solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces, the Telangana State Endowment Department organised a Chandi Homam at the historic Bhadrakali Temple in Warangal on Monday, seeking divine blessings for the success of Operation Sindoor. Following the directive of the Endowment department, special prayers were performed across temples in the state for the well-being of the Indian Army and the success of Operation Sindoor - a military operation launched in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. As part of this initiative, Bhadrakali Temple Assistant Commissioner and main priest Nagaraju Sharma conducted the Homam, invoking the blessings of Goddess Bhadrakali for the safety and success of the nation's armed forces. Devotees visiting the temple participated in the ritual after. Many joined the prayer chanting patriotic slogans such as 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', expressing their emotional support for the troops. Speaking after the Chandi Homam, Nagaraju Sharma said, 'Our country is united in the fight against terrorism under Operation Sindoor. With the blessings of Goddess Bhadrakali, we pray for the successful completion of the mission by our brave soldiers and the supporting forces. It is our responsibility to support the Indian Army and pray for their safety as they guard our borders.' Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, is a counter-terror initiative by the Indian Army, aimed at dismantling terror networks following the deadly Pahalgam attack. The Chandi Homam is part of a larger spiritual campaign being observed in various temples across Telangana to invoke divine blessings for Indian armed forces.
