Ensure Chandrabhaga's banks remain open for holy bath: Pulkundwar

Kolhapur: The Chandrabhaga River, which flows through the temple town of Pandharpur in Solapur district, has swollen following the release of water from the Ujani Dam . With Ashadi Ekadashi approaching, Pune divisional commissioner Chandrakant Pulkundwar has directed the Solapur administration to reduce the river's water level to ensure safe access to the riverbanks for Warkaris arriving for the holy dip. Pulkundwar chaired a review meeting with officials in Pandharpur on Tuesday. He noted that the Bhima River is referred to as the Chandrabhaga River when it passes through the town. "The administration should ensure the safety of the Warkaris arriving. The water level of the Chandrabhaga River is increasing. The authorities should submit a report suggesting measures to bring down the water level of the river and make the banks open for the Warkaris," said Pulkundwar.
