Bawankule takes stock of damage caused due to unseasonal rain
Nagpur: Guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule held a meeting on Monday with district officials and took crucial decisions regarding housing clusters and providing relief to those impacted by unseasonal rains. Speaking to the media, Bawankule, who heads the important revenue portfolio, said, "CM Devendra Fadnavis had directed all guardian ministers to take stock of damage caused due to unseasonal rains. We held that meeting today and also had other things on our agenda which concern the revenue department." Bawankule said the state plans to establish housing clusters across all administrative divisions with available land, and intends to accommodate eligible beneficiaries and families affected by monsoon flooding. The Monday meeting was held in the presence of Ramtek MP Shyam Barve, MoS Ashish Jaiswal, MLA (Katol) Charansingh Thakur, acting district collector Pravin Mahire, and other senior officials. Whilst acknowledging ongoing housing schemes, Bawankule highlighted the need for alternative solutions in areas lacking available plots. The proposed clusters would allocate 1,000 square feet per beneficiary. He instructed tehsildars to prepare a comprehensive list of flood-affected residences within 15 days, requiring verification from gram sevaks and sarpanches, followed by review from sub-divisional officers and the district collector. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch xu hướng AUD/USD? Bawankule directed agencies and tehsildars to focus on these activities, stipulating that extracted silt and gravel should be stored near lakes for road construction purposes, following government guidelines. Regarding unseasonal rain damage, Bawankule requested officials to submit verified preliminary damage assessments to facilitate prompt compensation. He reinforced the government's commitment to disaster relief, instructing quick assistance for fire victims and pledging to modify restrictive circulars.

Bawankule Pushes for Quality Audit By VNIT Of All ZP Works
Nagpur: To improve the standard of development work in rural areas, guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced that a quality control policy will soon be implemented for projects under the zilla parishad. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Speaking at a review meeting on Monday, Bawankule emphasised strict enforcement to ensure accountability and better use of govt funds. Over the past five years, the zilla parishad has spent over Rs1,000 crore on various development projects in Nagpur district. These include infrastructure such as roads, school classrooms, and sanitation facilities. However, concerns were repeatedly raised about substandard work and the use of low-quality materials. Minister of state for finance and agriculture Ashish Jaiswal also criticised the poor condition of govt buildings, pointing out that despite budget allocations, their quality often does not reflect the investment. "The quality work can't be seen in the completed structures," he said, calling for immediate corrective measures. A major point of contention was the use of paver blocks in road construction in rural areas. Bawankule expressed dissatisfaction with the widespread use of old paver blocks and ordered that no new roads be constructed using them. Instead, he recommended roads be built to the standard of those in Ramtek. In a significant move, Bawankule directed that all development work carried out over the past three years be audited by a third party — VNIT (Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology) — to assess quality and identify gaps. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now He further instructed that future funds be prioritised for essential sectors such as healthcare, education, sanitation, and clean drinking water. Local representatives were asked to decide funding priorities based on community trust and necessity, ensuring development projects genuinely serve public interest.

Ahead of local body polls, BJP finalises names of 22 district presidents
Nagpur: Ahead of local body elections scheduled to be held this year, the BJP on Saturday declared the names of its remaining 22 district presidents in Maharashtra. The move came after weeks of internal discussions between local and central leaders, marking the finalisation of leadership ahead of the crucial elections. It would also pave the way for the appointment of working president Ravindra Chavan as full-time Maharashtra BJP chief, replacing Chandrashekhar Bawankule. Among the new appointments were three districts from Vidarbha: Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, and Vidarbha. Aimed at consolidating the party's grassroots leadership, the latest announcement follows the list of 58 district presidents released by the party on May 13. According to party insiders, the delay in finalising the remaining districts was due to internal differences and local political calculations. However, after a key meeting at chief minister Devendra Fadnavis's residence in Mumbai, attended by BJP national general secretary Ashok Singh, co-organisation minister Shivprakash, and Maharashtra BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule — the list was finally released. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like I Tried the $0.87 Generic Viagra and Here's What Happened! fridayplans Learn More Undo The first phase of announcements had already named district presidents across other key regions, including Nagpur, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Thane, Pune, Kolhapur, Solapur, Satara, Sangli, and various Mumbai districts. Government employees should not avail of Ladkhi Bahin scheme: Maharashtra Revenue Minister
Government employees should not avail the benefit of the Mukhyamantri Maajhi Ladki Bahin Yojana for women, Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said. Some women government employees have reportedly benefited from the scheme, even though they are not eligible for it. 'This scheme is for poor women. Those working in government and earning a salary should not take advantage of it. Some employees have wrongly taken ₹1,500 under the scheme,' Mr. Bawankule said on Saturday (May 31, 2025). The government would recover the money in such instances, and some departments had already commenced inquiries, Mr. Bawankule said. The scheme, launched in the previous Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government, provides ₹1,500 per month to eligible women in Maharashtra. Mr. Bawankule denied the reported statement by Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SP) chief Sharad Pawar that some members wished to merge the two NCP factions. 'As per my information, there is no such discussion going on [between the factions]. State NCP chief Sunil Tatkare also said the same thing. So, there is no need to comment and create confusion,' the Minister said.
