What channel is UNC baseball on Sunday? Time, TV schedule for Chapel Hill Regional Final
What channel is UNC baseball on Sunday? Time, TV schedule for Chapel Hill Regional Final Here's all the broadcasting information you need to know for Sunday's Chapel Hill Regional Final. UNC will play the winner of Nebraska and Oklahoma. After escaping Holy Cross 4-0 in Friday's Chapel Hill Regional Opener, the UNC baseball team faced a significantly tougher challenge Saturday, facing the Oklahoma Sooners and future first-round MLB Draft Pick Kyson Witherspoon. North Carolina battled some tough pitchers throughout their regular season and the ACC Tournament, but none like Witherspoon, who entered with a 10-3 win-loss record and sub-3.00 earned rune average. The Diamond Heels knew how difficult of a pitcher Witherspoon was to crack, but took full advantage, jumping all over Oklahoma's ace in an 11-5 victory. UNC (44-12) tagged Witherspoon for six runs in the first inning alone – and nine overall. As a result of its latest dominant victory against a quality opponent, North Carolina advanced to its own Chapel Hill Regional Final, in which it will face the winner of Nebraska and Oklahoma (36-21), at 6 p.m. ET on Sunday for a trip to the Super Regionals. The Diamond Heels used a solid combination of small ball and power hitting to conquer Witherspoon early, scoring three of their six first-inning runs on singles. UNC delivered the dagger far down its batting lineup, when designated hitter Sam Angelo blasted a 3-run shot, way beyond the left field wall in Boshamer Stadium. The Cornhuskers (33-28) eliminated Holy Cross on Saturday morning, 4-1, but not without facing some adversity. The Crusaders took a 1-0 lead, thanks to a Sean Scanlon home run in the top of the fifth inning, but never scored again. Nebraska scored twice in the bottom of the fifth, thanks to a 2-run home run from Cayden Brumbaugh, taking a 2-1 lead it never relinquished. The Diamond Heels could very well face the Sooners again tonight, depending on how the Oklahoma-Nebraska game plays out this afternoon. The Sooners are a better team than the Cornhuskers, so whoever UNC plays, I expect another big victory in Chapel Hill tonight. What channel is UNC-Holy Cross on? Time, TV schedule for Chapel Hill Regional Opener Here's all the broadcasting information you need to know for the UNC baseball team's NCAA Tournament opener against Holy Cross. The UNC baseball team is just moments away from kicking off its NCAA Tournament run, which begins Friday, May 30 against Holy Cross at 12 p.m. in the Chapel Hill Regional. North Carolina (42-12, 18-11), which finished third in a loaded ACC during the regular season, captured its ninth ACC Tournament Championship with a 14-4 drubbing of Clemson. The Diamond Heels enacted revenge on Florida State during the ACC Semis, winning 7-5 thanks to two ninth-inning runs, but not before taking care of Boston College during a 7-2 win. Holy Cross (31-25, 17-8) beat Army West Point twice, 12-1 and 8-7, to capture the Patriot League Championship. The Crusaders won't be a pushover, despite playing in a smaller conference – and will look to play spoiler in Chapel Hill. UNC, which should win today's game comfortably, has all the tools to make a deep run. North Carolina sports arguably the best pitching staff across college baseball, led by ACC Pitcher of the Year Jake Knapp, plus a starting lineup that generates the perfect combination of speed and power. The 2024 Diamond Heels composed an uber-talented squad, led by Vance Honeycutt, but nearly lost in their Chapel Hill Regional opener. Third baseman Gavin Gallaher played hero in against LIU in that nightcap, blasting a walk-off grand slam and keeping UNC in the winner's bracket. Heading to Boshamer Stadium today? Holy Cross did beat the likes of fellow NCAA Tournament teams Auburn and Binghamton, but don't have UNC's resume. North Carolina will run into some early hiccups, as I see most tournament favorites try to do too much early on, but settle down by the third inning and win comfortably.
