Jones earns top-20 finish at State Tournament

AFTON — After earning runner-up at the Regional Tournament, Chase Jones played his way to a top 20 finish in the 3A State Championship. The Keys High School junior golfer finished 18th with a three-round total of 236. On the final day of the State Tournament, Jones finished seven over par. Advertisement The Cougars' top golfer missed last season with an injury and came back better than before. This season, Jones won several events, shot a one-under during the last round of the Regional Tournament, and qualified for State as an individual. 'Chase is a great kid and it was a pleasure to coach him,' KHS golf's Michael Clayborn said. 'He had a good year with several wins and will come back for his senior year even stronger.' Jones is expected to return as the No. 1 golfer for KHS during his senior season.

High pressure will start to build Wednesday through Thursday, which will increase the temperatures to the warmest we have seen so far this year. The Brief Two people were involved in a crash with a moose. A second car hit the moose and left. Police are now seeking information about that driver. Officials say the rate of fatal crashes is higher in the area compared to last year. CHEWELAH, Wash. - A man is dead, and a woman badly injured, after crashing into a moose in eastern Washington. After the crash, a second vehicle on Highway 395 North hit the carcass of the moose. Troopers say they are now hoping to contact that driver since they left the scene before law enforcement arrived. The 41-year-old driver of a Chevy Cruze died at St. Joseph's Hospital, meanwhile his 37-year-old female passenger was airlifted for emergency medical care. What's next The Washington State Patrol is now looking for witnesses who saw the second driver as law enforcement work to identify the vehicle. They say the driver is not being investigated for a hit-and-run, that they are just seeking more information about the scene. SOUTH SEATTLE - A widespread power outage impacted approximately 7,366 Seattle City Light customers in South Seattle, including Burien, SeaTac, and Tukwila, on Tuesday afternoon. The outage was first reported around 11:47 a.m., and as of 1:25 p.m., restoration efforts were underway with an estimated completion time of 4:09 p.m. ​ At 1:55 p.m., Seattle City Light said crews had reduced the outage to fewer than 2,400 customers and would continue working until power is fully restored. Cause Under Investigation Seattle City Light is currently investigating the cause of the outage. The utility has not yet provided specific details but is working to identify and resolve the issue.
