Tacoria, a Mexican chain restaurant, is coming to Cherry Hill. What to expect.
Tacoria Mexican Street Kitchen, a fast-casual New Jersey-based chain founded by some friends from Rutgers University, is to open a location in Cherry Hill soon. The chain — which has 10 sites throughout New Jersey, including one in Marlton — is known for its handcrafted tacos and fresh ingredients. Its incoming Cherry Hill location has targeted an end-of-July opening and may be found at the Shoppes at Garden State Park, 800 North Haddonfield Road, in a space previously occupied by &pizza. Trader Joe's is one of the anchors in that shopping center, which also includes Wild Fork, Chopt and Shake Shack in one strip of restaurants. Tacoria is set to add to the plethora of food choices in the immediate area. Brio Italian Grille, The Cheesecake Factory, Sugar Factory, Kabuki Japanese Restaurant and Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao are some of the eateries located in an adjacent shopping center called Towne Place at Garden State Park. Tacoria currently has locations in Piscataway, New Brunswick, Morristown, Hoboken, Jersey City, Paramus, Montclair, Princeton, Edgewater, and Marlton. The Marlton location opened at the Marlton Square shopping center, near Trader Joe's, in September. It was the first Tacoria location in South Jersey. 'We're just a couple of friends from Rutgers who REALLY love Mexican food, and we wanted to share our love with others back home,' the Tacoria website states. 'So we went to Mexico to soak up the culture and learn as many culinary secrets as we could, and then spent months in our own kitchen blending, mixing, experimenting and tasting until we created our own unique flavor. "Y listo, Tacoria was born!' One of the things that brand ownership promises is that the food is always made fresh daily with farm-raised ingredients. No frozen food is to be used. Tacoria's menu includes items such as handcrafted tacos, burritos, bowls, nachos, quesadillas, salads and Mexican street corn, as well as vegan options and a kids' menu. Police searching for alleged child pornography in a Cherry Hill home also found drugs, guns and bomb-making materials, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office. "Additionally, detectives located a bomb-disposal robot belonging to the United States Navy" at the home of 50-year-old Robert Cormier, the prosecutor's office said July 17. It disclosed the raid in announcing recent charges against six men related to child sexual abuse material. Cormier, who runs a government-contracting business from his home, was arrested after a barricade incident at a Barrington residence June 13, the prosecutor's office said. Teacher charged: Vineland educator accused of child-porn crimes It alleged that a search of his Cherry Hill home found guns, bomb-making materials and suspected crystal methamphetamine. The bomb-disposal robot was returned to the Navy. Cormier came to investigators' attention during a probe into alleged child sexual abuse material offenses. He was charged with possession, distribution and possession of child sexual abuse material with the intent to distribute. Additionally, he was charged with seven counts of possession of destructive devices, four counts of guns and drug offenses, as well as manufacturing and distributing controlled dangerous substances and maintaining a fortified structure. The prosecutor's office noted charges against 51-year-old Paul Adcock of Franklinville, who is also accused of possession of child sexual abuse material. Adock was charged last month with three counts each of stalking and endangering the welfare of a child. Adcock allegedly followed girls as they returned home from school in Haddon Township on June 10-11, the prosecutor's office said. Also charged last month were 30-year-old Nicholas Dean of Bellmawr; 24-year-old Joel Valdez of Camden and 23-year-old Ronald Aron of Oaklyn. They are accused of possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, as well as possession with the intent to distribute. Michael Howard, 30, of Pine Hill, was charged with possession of child sexual abuse material as well. The charges are only allegations. None of these individuals have been convicted. Cherry Hill Arts and Music Waterfront Festival honors July 4th with a hint of charm
Fireworks, live music, street activations, and an innovative drone show lit up Baltimore's skyline Friday night as residents gathered across the city to celebrate Independence Day with a uniquely local flair. From Inner Harbor to South Baltimore's Cherry Hill neighborhood, thousands turned out to mark the holiday with food, entertainment, and patriotic spirit. Among the standout events was the Cherry Hill Arts & Music Waterfront Festival, which featured small business vendors, food trucks, and live performances, all leading up to the evening's grand finale. "This year, we not only have the fireworks display in the harbor, but we're also doing a drone show for the first time ever," said Linzy Jackson, director of the Mayor's Office of Arts, Culture & Entertainment. "Everyone's involved, everyone feels like they're a part of it — and I think that's why we're seeing what we're seeing today." The drone display, produced in collaboration with the Cherry Hill festival, added a high-tech twist to the city's traditional pyrotechnics. It was part of a 10-minute show set to begin around 9 p.m., visible from various points across the city. Meanwhile, in Curtis Bay, local pyrotechnics company Image Engineering finalized preparations for the fireworks show. "Today we are taking what I designed in a software and putting it in place," said Zach Paul of Image Engineering. "It's such a large effect and so heavily seen and impactful. It's easy to leave an impression with people with fireworks." Emergency operations on standby City officials emphasized that the day's events were designed to be inclusive and safe. Emergency operations remained on standby, and multiple city agencies were on site to provide support. "The city is prepared," Jackson said. "We have our emergency operations open tonight. We have all of our agencies, all of our partners — we have enough coverage for everything and enough to do for everyone." Mayor Brandon Scott, who planned to attend the Cherry Hill festival, curated the evening's soundtrack alongside DJ No ID. The playlist, which accompanied the drone display, was a nod to the mayor's college days as a DJ at St. Mary's College of Maryland. Jackson encouraged residents to "grab your family, grab your friends, and come out and enjoy yourselves." With clear skies and temperatures in the 80s, Baltimoreans did just that.

Legendary fast food restaurant Roy Rogers makes long-awaited comeback as it plans East Coast expansion
Roy Rogers, the legendary fast food chain, has made a long-awaited comeback in New Jersey. The business opened its newest location in Cherry Hill last week, making it the first restaurant to open in the South Jersey or Philadelphia area in decades. Jim Plamondon, co-president of Roy Rogers, told 'We knew that making the long-anticipated return to Cherry Hill would be impactful, but we never could have predicted the level of excitement and dedication we have experienced over the past week.' He added: 'We are beyond grateful for the decades-long patrons that have visited the store and shared their stories. 'The nostalgia is certainly a driving force behind what we do and our hope to continue growing upon this momentum into new markets.' The Cherry Hill restaurant is the first location to open since the company made six-store openings in Maryland, Virginia, and New Jersey in 2016. Named after 'The King Of The Cowboys', Roy Rogers once ran over 640 restaurants nationwide. Now, the 57-year-old chain runs less than 50 locations across five states. The restaurant celebrated the New Jersey opening with a ribbon cutting and thanked its fans who came out to enjoy 'delicious beef, burgers, and chicken'. Roy Rogers guests flooded the restaurant during its grand opening. One person on Instagram wrote: 'Tried twice going there but couldn't get close to the joint. Cars lined up a mile down the road, cops directing traffic… tried today and same thing, line was out the door and people standing out in the heat waiting to get it.' An influencer known as 'What Should I Eat Philly' on Instagram tried some of the food in a video while visiting the Cherry Hill restaurant. Roy Rogers owner Jim Plamondon suggested she try the Roast Beef Burger, his 'favorite' offering. Reports claimed that everyone was talking about the Double R Bar Burger, while a first-time Roy Rogers eater praised the Chicken Biscuit. The blogger tried all of the recommended foods, and instantly became a fan. Restaurant-goers are now requesting Roy Rogers open new restaurants in states like Florida and Illinois, and a fan even suggested the chain open a location in Mexico.
