BJP's ‘leadership training camp': Nadda leads closed-door event

Raipur: In a strategic mix of political training, tribal outreach, and cultural promotion, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) began a three-day leadership training camp on Monday in the picturesque hill town of Manpat, often called "Chhattisgarh's Shimla. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now " The event is being held at the Tibetan Monastery Hall in the tribal-dominated Surguja district and was formally inaugurated by BJP national president , who arrived at Darima's Maa Mahamaya Airport via special aircraft before traveling to the venue under heavy security. The camp will conclude on July 9 with a closing address expected to be attended by Union home minister . The gathering has drawn the party's top brass, including chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai, deputy CM Vijay Sharma, ten state cabinet ministers, 44 MLAs, and ten BJP MPs. Senior leaders like Union ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Dharmendra Pradhan, B.L. Santosh, Vinod Tawde, and Shiv Prakash will lead twelve training sessions spread across the three days. According to party officials, the sessions are strictly closed-door and restricted to BJP MPs and MLAs, focusing on improving governance, public engagement, and upcoming election strategies. CM Sai, while arriving in Ambikapur on Sunday night, stated that the training will open "new dimensions of development" in the state and help representatives connect better with the grassroots. The opening day featured the first two training sessions led by Nadda himself. Nadda's special address aimed to sharpen the effectiveness of BJP leaders in governance and public outreach. Speaking to the media, BJP's Chhattisgarh in-charge Nitin Nabin took a direct swipe at Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi. "They should learn from the BJP," Nabin said. The opposition Congress party has strongly criticized the event, dismissing it as political theatre. State Congress communication head Sushil Anand Shukla accused the BJP of misusing public funds and claimed the training was not about public service but about teaching leaders "how to hide corruption." Padma Shri poet Dr Surendra Dubey, a celebrated name in the world of Hindi literature and Hasya Kavita, died in Raipur late Thursday night. He was was admitted to the Advanced Cardiac Institute (ACI) after he suffered a heart attack late Wednesday night. He underwent an angioplasty, a medical procedure used to open blocked or narrowed arteries in the heart, but suffered another cardiac arrest the next day and to family sources, he died around 11:40 pm on Thursday. His last rites will be held in Raipur today, with several literary figures, political leaders, and admirers expected to attend. Born in 1953 in Bemetara district (then in Durg district), Dubey was awarded Padma Shri in 2010. Though an Ayurvedic physician by profession, he found his calling in poetry and his use of humour and comedy in poems made him popular among gained popularity across the country through his performances on television, at Kavi Sammelans, and various cultural events. Known for his unique blend of humor and social commentary, his poetry resonated with a wide audience and often reflected everyday life through a humorous Dr Kumar Vishwas, a long-time associate of Dr Dubey, will be present at the funeral. He shared a message on social media, saying, 'A part of the poetic universe is gone today. Dr Surendra Dubey's words will echo forever in our hearts,' and described him as someone who connected deeply with the common Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed grief over Dubey's demise and described him as a litterateur who touched the pinnacle of Chhattisgarhi literature and humorous poetry."The demise of Padma Shri Dr Surendra Dubey, the pinnacle of Chhattisgarhi literature and humorous poetry, is an irreparable loss to the literary world. I am shocked by the news of his sudden demise. With his unique humour, sharp satire and unique creativity, he not only graced the stages of the country and abroad, but also played an important role in getting global recognition for the Chhattisgarhi language," Sai said in a Chief Minister visited the poet's house to pay his tributes., . CHHATTISGARH: Shashi Mohan Singh, an IPS officer from Chhattisgarh cadre, strikes a delicate balance between his full-time occupation and his passion for acting. He dons the police uniform in real life, while his silver screen presence has established him as an accomplished actor in Chhollywood (Chhattisgarh cinema industry), as well as on stage, short films, and Hindi language cinema. For the 2012-batch IPS officer, his role as an actor comes with a message for society. 'In most of my roles, preference remains for impressive storylines that can deliver issue-based or strong messages besides the entertainment of the audiences. It's all about the theme — with an appealing storyline, it holds the power to influence the heart and mind', says Singh. He joined the police service after clearing the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission in 1997. Today, he is a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Jashpur district. Interestingly, he acted as a Maoist leader in one of his movies, propagating the message of how the banned outfit exists on hollow ideology and violence. In his role as a villain, he attempts to connect the audience with his character's motivations and emotions. Singh has penned scripts for various movies and theatre dramas, written dialogues and poetry, and directed a few films as well. 'Since my school days, a deep inclination towards acting remained my leisure pursuit and in our village in Buxar (Bihar), where I was born, I got enough opportunities to act in dramas, plays and theatre through various Natya Shalas. I have also acted in Chhattisgarhi and Bhojpuri films.' Singh's compelling character roles and strong themes in some of his movies resonate well with audiences. They also get him recognition. A movie, Bhulan The Maze, in which he acted as a jailer, won a national award in the Best Film category of regional cinema at the 67th National Film Awards. It also won appreciation globally. His three short films — Gomti, Yatna, and Kotpa received national acclaim as best films and won awards. Recently, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended the grand screening of a short film, 'Kajri', written and directed by the Jashpur SSP. 'Kajri' addresses the critical issue of human trafficking and aims to raise public awareness and vigilance in a place like Jashpur. This predominantly tribal-populated district has earned an undeserved notoriety as a hub for human trafficking for several decades.
