Maa trailer: Kajol steps into the ‘world of Shaitaan' to fight evil and save her daughter. Watch
After Nushrratt Bharuccha's female-led horror films Chhori and Chhori 2, actress Kajol has decided to take forward the trend with her film Maa. While the theme and director remain same as Chhorri franchise, the makers have given the film a twist by adding their mothers name to their names in the trailer of the film with Ajay being introduced as Ajay Veena Devgn and director Vishal as Vishal Revanti Furia. These additions were also noticed in the names of actors Kajol, Ronit Roy, and Indraneil Sen Gupta, among others. On Thursday, the makers dropped the official trailer of the horror film, giving a glimpse into what they introduced as 'from the world of Shaitaan'. Like Chhori 2, the movie revolves around a mother, who single handedly fights the supernatural to save her daughter. The over two minutes video opens with a terrified Kajol trying to drive her daughter away from a dangerous place, only to land somewhere more dangerous. In the trailer, Vishal (Revanti) Furia tries to make the best use of Bollywood's most favourite word Maa, but has seemingly overused it with almost each dialogue repeating the word at least once. 'Maa, pet mein dard ho raha hai. (Maa, my stomach hurts),' says Kajol's daughter in the film. 'Pehli baar hai na shona, aage hotel dikhega na toh ruk jayenge (It is your first period, sweetheart. We will stop when we find a hotel ahead, ok?)' 'Maa, aur kitna time (Maa, how much longer?)', asks the daughter. Kajol replies, 'Bas, thodi der aur (Not much longer),' when suddenly a girl jumps onto their car, leaving them terrified. The mother-daughter duo then arrive at the hotel and Kajol warns her, 'Shweta, yeh ek nayi jagah hai aur apne maa ko bole bagair kahi mat jaana (we're in an unknown place and no wandering off without telling your mother).' ALSO READ |Sooraj Pancholi says actors pay Rs 30 lakh to appear in podcasts with top guys: 'I too received the offer' But, obviously, the daughter wander offs to a place, where a monster lives, starting the journey of thrills and chills in the movie. Like Chhori and Tumbbad, Maa also relies on an old legend, this time the legend of Daitya (demon) who feeds on girls' blood. The trailer ends with Kajol's dialogue: 'Jab tak teri maa tere sath hai, tera koi kuch nahi bigaad sakta. (As long as you have your mother with you, no one can ever harm you).' The trailer has attracted several reactions from fans, who flooded the comment section with praise for the makers with some even noticing the additions in the cast's names. A user wrote, 'Someone noticed, Every member of the movie, Be it an actor, producer, director, or an other member, All the names are written with their mother name, like Ajay Veena Devgn, Love the concept of tributing all the mothers.' Others praised Kajol and team fro trying something new and original in Bollywood. 'So happy to see production houses exploring the horror verses instead of the action and romatic stuffs,' wrote a user. Another user wrote, 'These types of movies, we want from Bollywood ,good concept, script, presentation, awesome bgm.' Kajol's Maa is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 27.

Hardika Sharma might be just 10 years old, but talk to her and you'll realise that she already has life figured out. She played Nushrratt Bharuccha's daughter, Ishani, in Prime Video's latest horror film, Chhori 2 and left cinephiles spellbound with her performance. As the film continues to trend, News18 Showsha got in touch with little Hardika to speak about the film. Without divulging any details, Hardika told us that she is also a part of Raj and DK's upcoming film, Rakt Brahmand, as Samantha's younger version. Hardika is seamlessly balancing life between school and shoots, of course, with her parents overlooking her studies alongside her already lit acting career. For the unversed, we saw Hardika as the younger version of Samantha in Prime Video's Citadel: Honey Bunny. She excitedly shared that she has also taken on the role of young Samantha in Netflix's Rakt Brahmand. She said, 'I couldn't get a chance to meet her as I played her younger version [in Citadel: Honey Bunny]. But my upcoming project Rakt Brahmand is coming on Netflix, in which I'm playing her younger version again." While Hardika hasn't had an opportunity to share screen space with the South superstar yet, she is happy that she finally met Samantha on the sets of the fantasy television series. 'I did not have scenes with her, they were shot separately. But yes, when she came to the set, I met her and she's really cheerful and I loved how focused she is," Hardika cheerfully told us. She also said, 'I'm really excited for the project. You'll see why when you watch it," the popular child actor said, promising that she will talk more about the series after its release. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Hardika Sharma (Official) (@hardi_sharma) Hardika also played young Ananya Panday in Call Me Bae. Expressing fondness for the Kesari 2 star, she said, 'I want to be like her, and she's very cute. She's very nice." When asked if they've met yet, Hardika quipped, 'No, I haven't met her yet, but I have seen her movies. I played her younger version in the series, so I couldn't meet her." We also asked Hardika to name a film or series starring Ananya that she likes the most. The little one had a witty reply — she chose Call Me Bae, as she was also part of the series and admired the actor's acting prowess. Apart from this, Hardika told us that Kareena Kapoor Khan is her favourite actress and that she has worked with her in advertisements. She also spoke about sharing screen space with Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan in ad films. She signed off by saying that she now hopes to work on big projects with them. Nushrratt Bharuccha On Being Lonely In Bollywood: 'Whom Do I Tell Yaar?'
During a recent interview, actress Nushrratt Bharuccha revealed feeling lonely in the film industry and questioned why people are glamorising loneliness. Nushrratt Bharuccha, known for movies like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, has now opened up about feeling lonely in the film industry. The actress has always been vocal about her opinion and often sheds light on the glamorised yet isolating world of showbiz. During a recent interview, Nushrratt claimed that people are now glamorising loneliness and there's always pressure to be brave. The Dream Girl actress admitted that she had no one to celebrate her achievement after winning an award. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Nushrratt was asked if people in the industry feel lonely. She replied, 'You know, you asked me this question at a very, very wrong time in my life. So it's not okay, and it's terribly lonely. Mere paas ek friend hai, Ishita Raj. Aur uske saath yeh bond banana, it took time. Yeh jo thick friendship wala scene hai, woh industry mein rarely hota hai, to be very honest. But hum dono hain." She added, 'And pata hai, yeh recent months ki baat hai when I told her, 'Ishita, who do I have yaar? Where are the friends? Where's the support system? Where is that one person?' I remember I had picked up an award from town—kya film thi, mujhe yaad bhi nahi. See?" Nushrratt further recalled, 'Main award leke gaadi mein bethi thi, and I was alone. I said to myself, 'Whom do I tell yaar? I've won an award. Kis ke saath celebrate karoon? Khushi kis ke saath baantoon?' It's time only." The 39-year-old actress also questioned why people glamorise loneliness, saying, 'Loneliness ek prevalent functionality system ban gaya hai. Why are we glamorising it? I honestly don't understand that. I don't understand why it's so okay to say, 'Oh, it doesn't matter. It doesn't affect me." On the work front, Nushrratt last appeared in her latest horror-thriller Chhori 2 alongside Soha Ali Khan. Directed by Vishal Furia, the film was released on Amazon Prime Video on April 11, and also stars Saurabh Goyal, Gashmeer Mahajani, Pallavi Ajay, Kuldeep Sareen, and Hardika Sharma in key roles.
