Nushrratt Bharuccha On Being Lonely In Bollywood: 'Whom Do I Tell Yaar?'
During a recent interview, actress Nushrratt Bharuccha revealed feeling lonely in the film industry and questioned why people are glamorising loneliness.
Nushrratt Bharuccha, known for movies like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, has now opened up about feeling lonely in the film industry. The actress has always been vocal about her opinion and often sheds light on the glamorised yet isolating world of showbiz. During a recent interview, Nushrratt claimed that people are now glamorising loneliness and there's always pressure to be brave. The Dream Girl actress admitted that she had no one to celebrate her achievement after winning an award.
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Nushrratt was asked if people in the industry feel lonely. She replied, 'You know, you asked me this question at a very, very wrong time in my life. So it's not okay, and it's terribly lonely. Mere paas ek friend hai, Ishita Raj. Aur uske saath yeh bond banana, it took time. Yeh jo thick friendship wala scene hai, woh industry mein rarely hota hai, to be very honest. But hum dono hain."
She added, 'And pata hai, yeh recent months ki baat hai when I told her, 'Ishita, who do I have yaar? Where are the friends? Where's the support system? Where is that one person?' I remember I had picked up an award from town—kya film thi, mujhe yaad bhi nahi. See?"
Nushrratt further recalled, 'Main award leke gaadi mein bethi thi, and I was alone. I said to myself, 'Whom do I tell yaar? I've won an award. Kis ke saath celebrate karoon? Khushi kis ke saath baantoon?' It's time only."
The 39-year-old actress also questioned why people glamorise loneliness, saying, 'Loneliness ek prevalent functionality system ban gaya hai. Why are we glamorising it? I honestly don't understand that. I don't understand why it's so okay to say, 'Oh, it doesn't matter. It doesn't affect me."
On the work front, Nushrratt last appeared in her latest horror-thriller Chhori 2 alongside Soha Ali Khan. Directed by Vishal Furia, the film was released on Amazon Prime Video on April 11, and also stars Saurabh Goyal, Gashmeer Mahajani, Pallavi Ajay, Kuldeep Sareen, and Hardika Sharma in key roles.

Allu Arjun May Star As Shaktimaan In Sony's Superhero Film, Not Ranveer Singh: Report
Last Updated: Allu Arjun is reportedly in talks to play the lead in Sony Pictures' upcoming Shaktimaan movie, replacing earlier speculation about Ranveer Singh. The iconic Indian superhero Shaktimaan might finally be leaping from our television nostalgia into the cinematic universe — and if reports are to be believed, none other than Allu Arjun could don the legendary red suit. The beloved 90s show, which made Mukesh Khanna a household name, has long been in talks for a big-screen adaptation, but now, fresh buzz suggests that the project is gaining real momentum. According to a report by Bollywood Bubble, Pushpa superstar Allu Arjun is currently in discussions to play the titular role in Sony Pictures' highly ambitious reboot of Shaktimaan. Adding to the excitement, Minnal Murali director Basil Joseph — who earned critical and commercial acclaim for delivering India's first homegrown superhero film with heart and style — is reportedly onboard to helm the project. 'The much ambitious Shaktimaan is now to be revived with Allu Arjun. Basil Joseph has been roped in to direct the mega venture. He's in talks with Allu Arjun to bring the superhero to life. The team wants to honour the nostalgic value of the original series while crafting a high-octane narrative with cutting-edge technology," a source told the portal. The source further revealed that this could be one of the biggest pan-India collaborations to date, with 'two big international studios and Geetha Arts teaming up, along with stakeholders from four different film industries." Though no official confirmation has been made yet, the speculation alone has sent fans into a frenzy. Allu Arjun's magnetic screen presence and recent pan-India success with the Pushpa franchise make him a strong contender for a role that demands both gravitas and mass appeal. If he signs on, watching him channel India's original superhero will be nothing short of a cinematic event. Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is also gearing up for another massive project — his upcoming film with director Atlee, co-starring Deepika Padukone. Currently in pre-production, this film too is expected to be a high-budget, multilingual release, with a reported release window sometime in 2027. First Published:
