Bafana's Broos content despite Tanzania draw

ALSO READ: Tepid Bafana held by Tanzania The Bafana head coach gave several players their senior international debuts in the match, as Bafana defended well, but failed to create much against a well-organised Taifa Stars. Bafana's Broos – 'About eight jerseys' 'After every game we give a jersey to each player getting his first cap,' said Broos. 'I think today we gave out about eight jerseys. It was a totally new team, with players who hadn't played together except for the same team (club). 'So it was not easy, and that is why I said before the game that the result was not important. We wanted to win, and we could have, we had chances. But the performance was more important. And I am happy with what I saw today.' Of the Bafana players who started Friday's match, goalkeeper Ricardo Goss, captain Fawaaz Basadien, Pirates duo Thalente Mbatha and Patrick Maswanganyi and forward Oswin Appollis could be considered regulars in the Bafana squad. 'The defence, without Basadien, all the rest was new,' added Broos. 'Even Ricardo (Goss), he is always with us but it is always Ronwen (Williams) who is playing. In the midfielder (Simphiwe) Selepe was now, up front (Tshepang) Moremi was new, (Ashley) Cupido was new. What can I ask more than the performance we put up tonight? It was very positive for me and I hope to see the same thing on Tuesday and that we win. 'A better feeling' 'It is a better feeling when you win.' Kaizer Chiefs set to miss out on Feisal Salum as Simba close in
Kaizer Chiefs set to lose out on another target, as an African giant has swooped in and is getting closer to sealing the deal. We have it on good authority that Azam FC midfielder Feisal Salum was one of Amakhosi's top targets for as long as we can remember. About a month ago we learnt that Salum would be available as the Tanzanian club are looking to cash in on a potential deal. Bearing in mind that Salum is contracted to the Dar es Salaam-based club until June 2026. Which means he still has a year left on his contract after this season closes. Salum, also known as Fei Toto, left Young Africans in 2023 and signed a three year deal with his current club. What we also know is that his ex-coach and current Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi, whom he worked with at Yanga is keen to reunite. But it looks like that will not happen as Simba SC are closing in on one of the most talented African players. 'We expect Feisal to deliver results because we are paying him a lot of money. However, if he decides to leave, that will be his choice. We are not stopping him from leaving,' Azam FC said, as quoted by FARPost . Despite their openness to a potential departure, Azam FC clarified that they have no immediate plans to release the player. 'We have no plans to let Feisal go. But if a team makes an offer that meets our expectations, we will not stand in his way.' Salum, the Tanzanian midfielder leads the assist charts in the NBC Tanzania Premier League with 13 assists, according to Tanzanian publication Diramakini.
