Chiefs DB Chris Roland-Wallace earns game ball for performance vs. Cardinals in preseason
The Kansas City Chiefs fell short in their attempt to secure a victory in their preseason exhibition against the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium on Saturday night.
While the defending AFC champions were unable to come away with a win, several players stood out as top performers in Kansas City's first game since Super Bowl LIX.
However, no Chief was more impactful than second-year defensive back Chris Roland-Wallace, who recorded a fumble recovery on the game's opening kickoff and later intercepted Cardinals quarterback Clayton Tune.
Though Roland-Wallace's valiant effort wasn't enough to deliver Kansas City its first preseason victory, his outstanding performance earned him a coveted Chiefs Wire Game Ball.
Roland-Wallace joined the Chiefs last season after spending time with the University of Arizona Wildcats and the University of Southern California Trojans as a collegian. He is expected to compete for a significant role in Kansas City's defense during the Chiefs' next two preseason games and seems poised to have an edge over his competition after a spectacular showing against the Cardinals.
