Actor Rajinikanth says he shares fans' energy, expectations for ‘Coolie'
Chennai, Aug 2 (PTI) Superstar Rajinikanth on Saturday said he shares the same energy and expectations as his fans for his upcoming film 'Coolie'. At the star-studded trailer and audio launch held at Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai, the actor was greeted with thunderous chants of 'Thalaiva, Thalaiva" (meaning 'leader' or 'boss') as he arrived. Dressed in a black kurta, a beaming Rajinikanth waved enthusiastically to cheering fans from his car. 'I have the same energy and expectations as my fans. God is with us," he told reporters while leaving his Poes Garden residence for the event. Actors Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, and Upendra, along with other members of the cast and crew, were also present at the launch. Directed and written by Lokesh Kanagaraj, 'Coolie' features Rajinikanth as Deva, a former gold smuggler out for revenge. The three-minute trailer showcases Rajinikanth's signature swagger, including a stylish entry and adrenaline-fuelled action sequences, set to an electrifying score by Anirudh Ravichander. 'Coolie' is slated for release on August 14. Certified 'A' by the Central Board of Film Certification, 'Coolie' has a runtime of 2 hours and 48 minutes. This marks Rajinikanth's first 'A'-rated film in 36 years, according to reports. Songs from the film—'Monica," 'Chikitu," and 'Powerhouse"—have already been released. Superstar Rajinikanth's entry at the 'Coolie' audio launch on Saturday at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai was no less than a mass introduction scene from a film. At 7 pm, Thalaivar entered the venue with producer Kalanithi Maran, head of Pictures, and waved at the fans. He then greeted the cast one by one, hugged them and thanked them. Aamir Khan touched his feet and shared a warm hug with the event, Rajinikanth looked stylish in a black kurta and blue jeans. Nagarjuna opted for a black suit, while Aamir Khan, too, chose black for the big event. The wait for the trailer for superstar Rajinikanth's next film, 'Coolie', has ended. The much-awaited trailer was released at a grand audio launch event at Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on Saturday. The trailer builds on the excitement around the film, which is slated for a release on Independence Day weekend on August stylish three-minute-long trailer of 'Coolie' shows the ensemble cast involved in an intense action drama. Chennai: Rajinikanth's upcoming film 'Coolie,' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has officially received an A (Adults Only) certificate from the censor board. This marks the superstar's first A-rated film in many years, hinting that the film will be packed with intense and unfiltered action. The makers of the film took to their X account to make the announcement. They shared a new poster with a caption that read, "#Coolie censored. #Coolie releasing worldwide August 14th." 'Coolie' is an action thriller with a star-studded cast. Alongside Rajinikanth, the film features actors Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, and Soubin Shahir. Rajinikanth plays the role of Deva in the film. However, one big highlight of the much-awaited film is the reunion of 'Thalaiva' and actor Aamir Khan after nearly three decades.
