Hrithik Roshan, NTR Jr's War 2 Certified U/A, Becomes Longest YRF Spy Universe Film

Last Updated: War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji and starring Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr, has a runtime of 2 hours 53 minutes and received a U/A certification from CBFC. As anticipation builds for War 2, the makers have now locked the film's runtime and received a U/A certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The high-octane action thriller, directed by Ayan Mukerji, stars Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr in lead roles and is now confirmed to be the longest film in the Yash Raj Films (YRF) Spy Universe. According to sources close to the production, the final runtime stands at 2 hours and 53 minutes (173 minutes), not including the end credit sequence which is expected to be certified separately later this week. 'War 2 has been certified by CBFC without many revision suggestions by the board members. The final runtime of War 2 is 2 hours 53 minutes (173 minutes), excluding the end credit sequence, which will be certified later in the week," a source told Pinkvilla. The film, which follows in the footsteps of blockbusters like Pathaan, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Tiger 3, also features an exclusive post-credit scene, something that has now become a signature element in the YRF Spy Universe. The sequence remains under tight wraps, known only to a few key stakeholders. 'Much like Pathaan and Tiger 3, War 2 will also have a big post-credit sequence, and the same will be added to the prints of the Hrithik Roshan and NTR starrer. The post-credit sequence has been kept hidden from everyone, and none except the key stakeholders know what it is," the source added. War 2 surpasses the runtime of its predecessors: Ek Tha Tiger (132 mins), Tiger Zinda Hai (161 mins), War (154 mins), Pathaan (146 mins), and Tiger 3 (156 mins). Co-starring Kiara Advani, the film promises six major action set pieces choreographed by international teams. Notably, Hrithik's intro scene and NTR's pirate-themed sequence are being highlighted as standout moments. Releasing worldwide on August 14, 2025, War 2 is positioned to make the most of the Independence Day weekend. CBFC members have reportedly appreciated the film's patriotic undertone and believe its 'India First" message will strike a chord with viewers. Recently, reports suggested that Jr NTR is paid Rs 70 crore for War 2, while Hrithik will receive Rs 50 crore with backend earnings. Now, there are rumours that the South actor has also bagged a profit-sharing deal. According to Bollywood Hungama, YRF has now parted ways with the Telugu rights of War 2 by selling it upfront to Naga Vamsi for a whopping Rs 90 crore. A source told the portal, 'Naga Vamsi has acquired Telugu rights for War 2 for Rs 90 crores. Every profit from the Telugu theatrical medium will now go to Naga Vamsi, while YRF has received an outright recovery of Rs 90 crores on a budget of Rs 400 crore. The Telugu case has been settled between the parties." In a major deal, Naga Vamsi and NTR Jr agreed to split the profits from War 2 's Telugu adaptation. 'After receiving a large salary of Rs 70 crores, NTR Jr. is also entitled to a portion of the revenues from the Telugu version of Naga Vamsi. He is anticipated to earn more than Rs 100 Crore by the end of the run, as the Telugu version of War 2 is expected to generate significant earnings. The profits from Telugu will be split between NTR Jr. and Vamsi, not YRF or Hrithik," the trade source added. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Hindu outfit seeks ban on Marathi film ‘Khalid Ka Shivaji', writes to CBFC

'The film attempts to distort the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The producers have portrayed him as secular, which is not acceptable. If the film is not banned, we will protest at the theatres where it is screened,' Hindu Mahasangh chairman Anand Dave said in a statement. Hindu Mahasangh, a Pune-based organisation, has submitted its objections to the CBFC and the film's producers. Mumbai, Aug 5 (PTI) A local Hindu outfit has written to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) seeking a ban on the Marathi film 'Khalid Ka Shivaji', slated for release on August 8, claiming that it has attempted to distort the history of Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. 'We urge all theatres in Pune not to screen this film. If it is shown in rural areas, we will visit cinema halls and hold lectures on the true history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj,' he said. Dave further claimed that the film tries to change the historical narrative. 'Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj belonged to us, to Hindus, and Marathas. Our objection is to the very idea of Khalid Ka Shivaji,' he stated. Directed by Raj More, 'Khalid Ka Shivaji' is a film about a Muslim boy who learns about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj through life experiences. Archana Puran Singh's sons stand at Mumbai traffic signal to get ‘genuine reactions' for their new song, people recognise only one of them

The chaotic 'Aaap Ka Parivaar' just got a new cause for celebration, as Archana Puran Singh's son Aaryamann Sethi dropped a new song titled 'Madhubala' on all streaming platforms, including YouTube and Spotify. To promote his new song, Aaryamann took his brother Ayushmaan and his girlfriend Yogita Bihani to Bandra in order to get some genuine live reactions from the public. The latest vlog shows the trio conversing with random fans and making them hear the song and view the music video. Equipped with a mobile phone, headphones, and a yellow poster that said, 'Hey, come listen to our song', the gang started their journey to Bandra. They stopped right alongside Marine Drive and started inviting people to come and listen to the song just as the street lights came on. Aary admitted that he is feeling a little bit nervous about people listening to the song right in front of him; he said, 'What if people don't like it?' Ayushmaan, who made the music video for the song, seemed much more carefree about the whole thing, as he was walking around imitating Nana Patekar's character from the film Welcome. They soon got their first listener, and the ball started rolling as more and more people stopped to give the song a listen. Ayushmaan and Yogita soon came up with a tactic and told Aaryamann to go and hide so people would give their honest reactions after listening to the song. Even with him not there, the listeners seemed to like the song and kept congratulating Aaryamann on appearing. One of the listeners thought that Ayushmaan looked a lot like Parmeet Sethi and stopped to give the song a listen. On discovering that Ayushmaan is in fact Parmeet's son, who is frequently seen in vlogs with him, he shared that he knew Parmeet and Archana but never knew they had another son apart from Ayushmaan. Aarymann reacted to this and said, 'Mai pehle aya tha (I was here first). He knows both Mom and Dad and even Ayushmaan, but he doesn't know me. Jitne bhi vlogs karlu mai, log pehle isse hi pehchanegay, dusra beta toh tha hi nahi (No matter how many vlogs I make, people will still recognise him first. It's like the other son was never there.' Yogita decided to cheer him up by pointing out that a lot of people know him and that is the reason she and Ayushmaan suggested that he should hide. She continued and said, 'Aap sab kehte rehte ho na ki Ayush ko lekar aao vlog mai, yeh karta hai yeh jab vlog mai ata hai (You guys keep asking for Ayush to be part of the vlogs. This is what he does when he is here.'
