FKA Twigs Needs North West's Help to Win Over Music Exec in ‘Childlike Things' Video
The music executive FKA Twigs recruited actor/director Kevin Smith to play in the music video for 'Childlike Things' couldn't care less about whatever Eusexua is. The musician would describe it as a feeling, the kind that emerges after reaching euphoria on the dance floor. He would call it noise, just as he mangles the pronunciation of her name to FKA instead of just calling her Twigs like everyone else. Still, Twigs is content on winning him over — he has to approve whether she gets a budget to make the video we're watching. For the first half of the eight-minute long video, which was written by Jeremy O. Harris and directed by Jordan Hemingway, Twigs dances as though her life depends on it. She even told the executive she was 24, shaving more than a decade from her age in hopes that he wouldn't write her off as quickly. When he tries to sneak away mid-performance, she snaps: 'You can't leave. Your figures and numbers don't mean anything when you're sweating on the dance floor, discovering something new for the first time. That's that this is about — the thrill of it.' 'No amount of witnessing you discover it is going to help you get on Spotify's discover page any easier,' he says. 'You want my best advice? Hoop up with a rapper, get your BPMs up, then we can try this again on day.' Twigs offers to do him one better: instead of getting a rapper, she recruits the daughter of a fairly disgraced one — North West. 'Welcome to the stage the sartorial goddess, the raspy voice troublemaker and truth teller, producer and rapper extraordinaire. The one, the only, North West.' With North West in the mix, the dance numbers go even harder, as if it's Twigs' last shot at getting this video made. It works — kind of. 'Okay, it's fire,' Smith admits. 'But maybe shoot some short-form stuff, 15 seconds and get it up on all the socials. But I wouldn't shoot a music video for it.' The skit-like quality of the video leans into the thematic narrative of 'Childlike Things,' which Twigs made after recalling lyrics she wrote as a kid. 'It [needed] someone who has that tenacity, who has that strong point of view that you have when you're 11,' Twigs recently said on Instagram about adding a collaborator to the song. 'Then I saw an interview with North West, and she was so confident. It suddenly occurred to me that I would've loved to have a friend like North who could speak up for themselves.' Kim Kardashian 'conflicted' about being 'momager' to daughter North: ‘It's her or me'
Kim Kardashian is stepping into a new role as 'momager' to her 11-year-old daughter North — and it hasn't been easy. The 44-year-old Skims founder opened up about struggling with the added workload in the upcoming season six teaser for her family's reality series, The Kardashians, on Hulu. 'I thought I was busy before,' Kim says. 'North, me having to be her momager right now is crazy. It's just, it was not on my list. It was not on my Bingo card for this year. 'It's a lot of work. It's a lot of energy,' the mom of four tells her mom Kris Jenner and her younger sister Khloé. 'And I'm not ready. If she has a shoot, I have to be there all day, so it's like her or me.' Already, North has starred on the cover of i-D magazine and Interview magazine, performed in a Los Angeles production of The Lion King as 'Young Simba,' and been featured on FKA Twigs's 'Childlike Things' track. Later in the preview published by People, the SKKN BY KIM creator says she's been trying to find a happy medium between North's work gigs and her typical day-to-day routine as a tween. 'I'm really conflicted on my daughter's career, so we're going to talk about that soon. I just really want to make sure that everything's really well balanced,' Kim tells the show's producers in a solo interview. 'All of the work experiences are balanced out with just enough fun life experiences. I just want balance.' Between running her multi-million dollar clothing company, her skincare brand, and managing her own jam-packed calendar of social events and public appearances, Kim said she still makes time to take her children — North, Saint, nine, Chicago, seven, and Psalm, five — to school. 'That's just in my contracts, like no matter what I do, no matter work, like I have to take my kids to school,' she said in a January interview on World's First Podcast. 'That's just my time with them. It's the morning madness. I love it. It's amazing.' Kim shares her four kids with her ex-husband Kanye West. The former couple, who tied the knot in 2014, split back in 2022. Before their divorce was officially finalized, Kim filed a motion to be declared legally single with the court. She was granted her new relationship status in March 2022, eight months before she and West settled their divorce proceedings. According to court documents obtained by People, West was ordered to pay Kim $200,000 a month in child support and take on half the financial responsibility for their kids' educational, medical, and private security costs.

Yes, That's North West Rapping in Japanese on FKA Twigs' New Album
Originally appeared on E! Online North West has been keeping up with her Duolingo lessons. Kim Kardashian's 11-year-old daughter, who she shares with ex Kanye West, flexed her bilingual skills on FKA Twigs' new album, Eusexua. She appears on the album's shortest track 'Childlike Things,' where she playfully raps a few lines in Japanese. True to the song's title, 'Childlike Things' sees both Twigs and North admiring their 'supersonic powers' and creative imagination with wide-eyed wonder. After a few bouncy chants from the British pop singer, North delivers a short verse about praising Jesus. In English, her feature translates to: 'Hello, My name is North-chan / From California to Tokyo / Jesus, the King / Praise the Lord / Jesus is the one and only true God.' West raps half of the verse—which flows against Koreless and Ojivolta's house-inspired beat—towards the outro, before once again honoring her 'supersonic powers.' Eusexua, which dropped on Jan. 24, explores Twigs' usual sound design: whispery soft pop melodies, electronica-inspired beats, and the occasional glitchy transition. More from E! This isn't North's first time rapping in Japanese. She also rapped the language on Kanye's polarizing 2024 Vultures album; specifically, on the single 'Bomb.' The track—which also features her sister , 5—sees North repeatedly saying her name, 'North-chan, 'and 'good morning.' North's verse on 'Childlike Things' and 'Bomb' is the first taste of her solo career. During Kanye's listening party for Vultures in March, she announced she was working on her debut album Elementary School Dropout. North hasn't shared the record's release date, but Kanye—also dad to kids , 9, and , 5, with Kim—recently confirmed he created a few beats for the album. His input is fitting, considering the album's title is a reference to his own debut, 2004's The College Dropout. And as Kanye admitted, working with North has also served as inspiration for his next album. 'This little girl made me love music again,' he wrote on Instagram Jan 21. 'She asked me to make beats for her I got back on the ASR Chopped up beats for her album and chopped every beats with my bare hand for BULLY.'
