The best burger in London, according to Time Out

Burgers are one of life's greatest pleasures. That combination of bread, succulent filling, oozy cheese and perhaps a pickle or two is so simple, but so darn good. With such a neat formula, there are thousands of spots across London with decent burgers on offer. But here at Time Out, we're interested in the outstanding. Our professional food obsessives have powered through dozens of patties in the city to bring you our list of London's best burgers, updated for August 2025. And we're coming at you with a brand new number one. Right now you'll find London's best burger at Dumbo. The Parisian burger brand opened its first international joint in Shoreditch earlier this summer and has already won Londoners over. Plus, at £10 it offers one of the cheapest cheeseburgers on our list. Time Out food editor Leonie Cooper wrote: 'The sleek smashburgers at Dumbo offer the perfect charred lacy crust on the edges of super succulent dry-aged beef. Add the requisite slices of gleaming American cheese, before tangy, plump pickles. Then come unobtrusive smears of ketchup and mustard - it's better dressed than peak Chloë Sevigny – and you're got yourself a rightfully hyped new-wave burger titan.' Claiming silver medal is the 'bona fide, utterly brilliant' Dexter cheeseburger from Four Legs at The Plimsoll. This cult classic keeps things super simple. It comes with a thin Dexter beef patty topped by melted cheese, burger sauce, finely minced onion and a generous heap of sweet pickles, all packed inside a glossy brioche bun. According to Leonie, 'you'll be swooning after the first mouthful'. Then, in at number three is an absolute whopper – the colossal meaty bun from Dove. There are only 10 of these burgers served at the Ladbroke Grove restaurant each day. The thick 50-day dry aged beef patty is covered with silky onions that have been cooked in champagne and butter and a pungent blanket of gorgonzola. Such a hefty thing comes with a hefty price tag, though – it'll set you back £18. Other burgers to make the cut on our new list include creations from Bleecker, Lagom and Manna. Find the . Zendaya Adds Chloë Sevigny's Favorite Sneakerina to Her Closet

The sneakerina just earned another ringing endorsement. Zendaya officially hopped aboard the budding trend, joining the likes of Dua Lipa, Jennifer Lawrence, and Chloë Sevigny in embracing the ballet flat-sneaker hybrid. While there are scores of sneakerinas on the market—ranging from the affordable Adidas and Pumas, to the higher-priced Wales Bonner and Louis Vuitton—Zendaya opted for the ECCO Biom C-Trail, a leather shoe with criss-crossing, pointe shoe-esque laces. Her funky footwear choice comes with another fashion girl stamp of approval: Sevigny, a longtime champion of the shoe, has been repping them for well over a year, styling them with everything from pastoral gingham skirts to denim smocks and gym shorts. JosiahW / BACKGRIDUSA BACKGRID USA Sevigny's approval notwithstanding, the $200 Biom C-Trails have a fashion pedigree: they were designed by former Chloé creative director Natacha Ramsay-Levi. But the GORPy flat isn't just for the fashion-forward. With its rubber soles and all-terrain tread, it proved a welcome shoe choice for Zendaya's recent hike with her fiancé, Tom Holland, and their dogs. Zendaya went the high-low route, styling her sneakerinas with a pair of black, below-the-knee shorts, a Pepto Bismol pink men's sweater from The Row, and—of course—her Jessica McCormack engagement ring. With an endorsement from Sevigny and Zendaya, it seems like we've got a hot contender for the top sneakerina.

Jennifer Lawrence Just Joined Kylie Jenner in Endorsing Summer's Biggest Trend

What's a gal with a fabulous scarf collection to do during these hot, humid months? Enter Jennifer Lawrence, who is all in on repurposing the versatile silk scarf for summer. Today, Lawrence and her husband Cooke Maroney, were spotted walking arm-in-arm in New York City. The actor, who has a well-documented love of tomato red (transcending baseball caps, jelly flats, and handbags alike) opted for a brightly colored T-shirt, lending a pop of color to an otherwise-neutral look. On the bottom, Lawrence wore a pair of flowing white trousers with black leather slides. Diamond / BACKGRIDUSA An expert accessorizer, Lawrence has finally hopped aboard the scarf skirt trend, trying a beige silk scarf with black trim and a surreal checkerboard print around her hips. She isn't the only one who is embracing the asymmetrical overskirt. In April, Chloë Sevigny, wore a Vaquera number that, while not a 1:1 comparison, helped kickstart the scarf-as-skirt trend again. Soon after, Alexa Chung traipsed through the streets of London, a brown Gucci scarf tied around her waist. Meanwhile, in Tuscany earlier this month, Kylie Jenner coordinated hers to her floral bikini top. With Jennifer Lawrence joining this list of stylish women, we'll call that another ringing endorsement for the scarf skirt.

Level Up Your Summer Style With a Scarf Skirt

As soon as I feel the first rays of sun hit my pasty skin after a long, blustery winter, I'm immediately struck by a primal urge to get rid of all of my clothes and start my closet afresh. It goes without saying that this is not sustainable—environmentally or financially. But this year, I've finally found a styling trick that keeps that desire at bay. Enter: the scarf skirt. Recently, celebrities have been sporting silk scarves around their waists, be it as a skirt or over a pair of pants. Chloë Sevigny, like the trendsetter that she is, kicked things off with a Vaquera scarf, worn slung around her hip with an asymmetrical hem. While Sevigny opted to show lots of leg, others prefer to wear theirs over trousers. On a walk through London, Alexa Chung offered an update on a simple white tee and businesslike gray trousers thanks to the brown Gucci scarf she wore over her pants. Alessandra Ambrosio had the same idea when she touched down at the Nice Airport ahead of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. Breaking up an otherwise-all-white outfit, the model slung a pale pink printed silk triangle across her waist. Alexa Chung in London. Neil P. Mockford/Getty Images Alessandra Ambrosio arriving in Nice, France. Marijo Cobretti / Beyond celebrity street style, the scarf skirt has several fans among the Vogue editorial staff. I, for one, like to interrupt an all-black outfit with a colorful silk scarf. Meanwhile, my colleague Laia Garcia-Furtado, Vogue Runway's senior fashion news editor, channels her inner Alanis Morissette. 'I always bring all these scarves with me when I travel and usually they never get worn but suddenly I figured out they could help me channel what I like to call Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie vibes, or how Alanis dressed after she came back from India (thank you, India!),' she says. 'I don't think of them as a skirt per se, but they're definitely a more low-key way to do a skirt or dress over pants, which is at the core of it all.' So, for anyone feeling stuck in a fashion rut this summer, allow a scarf skirt to do the heavy lifting for you.
