Manchester United closely monitoring Upamecano

Manchester United closely monitoring Upamecano With his contract set to expire in June 2026 at Bayern Munich, Dayot Upamecano has caught the eye of Manchester United. According to journalist Christian Falk (Bild), the Red Devils have added the 26-year-old French centre-back to their list of potential targets. This summer, Manchester United has primarily strengthened its attacking options with Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Sesko. The English club is now focusing its efforts on the defensive line. Bayern Munich, for its part, is keen to extend Upamecano's contract, but negotiations have yet to yield an agreement. The player has nevertheless hinted that a deal remains possible: I am very happy here. There are talks with Max (Eberl), Christoph (Freund), and my agent. We'll see what happens. Paris Saint-Germain is also reportedly keeping a close eye on the situation, according to Kicker. Since joining from RB Leipzig in 2021, Upamecano has played 152 official matches for Bayern, scoring 5 goals and providing 10 assists.

Barcelona transfer target the subject of €50m+ offer

A leading member of the summer transfer wishlist at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week come in for a big-money offer on the part of German champions Bayern Munich. That's according to transfer insider Christian Falk, who points to Luis Díaz as the player in question. Advertisement Wide-man Díaz is of course a man in-demand on the market with a view to next season. Recent weeks have seen all of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and even Saudi outfit Al-Nassr credited with a keen interest in the signing of the Colombian international. And as alluded to above, this week, one of this trio went as far as to table an opening bid for his services. That's according to German football expert Christian Falk, who has confirmed that: 'FC Bayern should have submitted an offer to Liverpool for Luis Diaz of €52 million. Luis Díaz wants to join FC Bayern.' It now remains to be seen if such a proposal is sufficient to coax Liverpool into a sale. Conor Laird – GSFN

Bayern Munich Submit £44.9m Offer to Sign Liverpool Forward

Bayern Munich's Opening Bid for Luis Diaz Sparks Liverpool Uncertainty Liverpool fans woke up to unsettling news this week as Bayern Munich submitted an opening €52 million offer for Luis Diaz, as reported by Christian Falk of BILD. The Colombian winger, who has been pivotal for Liverpool since his arrival, is now at the centre of transfer speculation that could reshape both clubs' summer plans. Advertisement Bayern's Interest Intensifies Bayern Munich's need for a winger this window has been well documented. According to SPORT BILD, Diaz features heavily on their shortlist, and their initial approach underlines serious intent. Christian Falk confirmed on X, 'True, FC Bayern should have submitted an offer to Liverpool for Luis Diaz. Luis Díaz wants to join FC Bayern.' Diaz's desire for the move has added fuel to the fire. German journalist Florian Plettenberg reported that Diaz has even gone as far as submitting a transfer request, a development that raises major questions about his Liverpool future. Advertisement Contract Stand-off at Liverpool Liverpool have been eager to secure Diaz's long-term commitment, but negotiations have reportedly stalled. According to reports from Colombia, Diaz and his entourage are unhappy with Liverpool's current contract offer. Unless their terms are met, the 28-year-old could push for a move away from Anfield this summer. Liverpool's valuation, reportedly around €80 million, places Bayern's €52 million bid well below the mark. However, the signal from Bayern is clear — they are ready to test Liverpool's resolve, particularly given Diaz's apparent willingness to switch to the Bundesliga champions. What This Means for Arne Slot's Liverpool For Liverpool, the potential loss of Diaz is significant. Under Arne Slot, who sensationally won the Premier League title in his debut season, Diaz has been a regular contributor, both in goals and assists. His pace, directness and work rate have made him a fan favourite and a vital cog in Liverpool's pressing system. Advertisement Slot now faces a summer of uncertainty. With contract talks faltering and Bayern circling, Liverpool's recruitment team will need to decide whether to hold firm or cash in and reinvest. Photo: IMAGO Bayern's Ambition and Diaz's Future For Bayern, adding a player of Diaz's calibre would bolster their wide options considerably. His profile fits the Bavarians' fast, attacking style and his Champions League experience would be invaluable. Whether they can meet Liverpool's asking price remains the big question. As Christian Falk's confirmation suggests, this is no speculative rumour. Bayern are pushing, Diaz is interested, and Liverpool must act quickly to resolve the situation. Advertisement Our View – EPL Index Analysis As Liverpool fans, this report comes as a gut punch. Luis Diaz has been one of the few constants through a period of major change at Anfield. After all, Diaz has been central to Slot's system, providing width and creativity when it mattered most. How has the club let negotiations slip to this point? Surely after a title-winning campaign, the focus should be on strengthening, not losing key players. The reported €52 million bid is frankly insulting. Bayern know Liverpool won't sell at that price, but they're clearly exploiting the situation, knowing Diaz wants the move. The board must stand firm — either Bayern pay up or Diaz stays. Losing a player of his quality, right after such a historic season, sends the wrong message to fans and rivals alike. Advertisement It's now on the Liverpool hierarchy to show ambition. Pay Diaz what he's worth, or replace him decisively if he forces his way out. Anything less risks undermining Slot's brilliant start and leaving supporters wondering what could have been.

Revealed: The maximum figure Bayern Munich 'are willing to pay for Luis Diaz' as German giants join fierce race for Liverpool star

Bayern Munich have reportedly set a sky-high limit on their transfer purse for Liverpool star Luis Diaz. The German giants are rivalling Barcelona and Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr for the forward's signature this summer. There is a problem standing in their way: Liverpool hold little intention of selling Diaz, whose contract expires in 2027. But that has not deterred his suitors from rummaging around in their wallets, with Barcelona thought to be the frontrunners. Barca have made formal contact, Mundo Deportivo reports that his agent is in talks with the Spaniards, and SPORT reported last month that Hansi Flick's side were confident of landing him. However, Bayern are also keen and will reportedly allow Vincent Kompany to spend up to €60million (£51.6m) on him, according to insider Christian Falk. That happens to be £0.6m above a figure recently quoted by SPORT as Liverpool's asking price. However, Mail Sport reported earlier in July that Liverpool rejected an approach from Bayern, telling director of sport Max Eberl that the 28-year-old would not be leaving Anfield. Falk notes that Bayern will not submite da formal offer for the time being out of respect to Liverpool following the death of Diogo Jota. Diaz has insisted he is 'very, very happy' with the Reds, but that has not stopped him being linked with an array of sides. Liverpool have not offered an extension to his contract and with it running out in a couple of years, the onus is on them to make a call on his future. The versatile Diaz made 50 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring 17 goals and providing eight assists. He recently said: 'I'm very, very happy in Liverpool. From day one, they've made me feel really welcome. 'Right now we're in contact with them because we're speaking with [other] clubs. It's normal, the market is open, and we're trying to sort out what's best for us. Podcast All episodes 'I am just waiting to see what happens. If Liverpool doesn't make a good offer, I still have two years left with them, I would be happy and content to stay there. And that's it, everything depends on them obviously, it's up to me to decide what's best for us.' Diaz joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 for an initial fee of £37.5m. He has gone on to be an important player, playing 148 times, and became the second Colombian player ever to win the Premier League after Juan Cuadrado did with Chelsea.

Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka responds to Manchester United transfer rumours

Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka has made it clear he intends to stay at the club, while addressing rumours of a potential move to Manchester United. United are aiming for a squad overhaul this summer as they try to reshape the squad to suit Ruben Amorim and his football philosophy. Advertisement So far, United's primary focus has been on bolstering the attacking department after a goal-shy 2024/25 campaign. The Red Devils have already announced the arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers while a deal for Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo is believed to be close to completion. United are also in the market for a striker, with the likes of Viktor Gyokeres (Sporting CP), Victor Osimhen (Napoli), Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig) and Jean-Philippe Mateta (Crystal Palace), among the players mentioned to be on the club's radar. But, United's ambitions don't end there and there have been suggestions that a midfield signing is also on the cards, although this is likely dependent on player sales. Christian Eriksen is expected to officially leave the club at the end of the month when his contract expires, while Casemiro has once again attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League. Advertisement United already had a pressing need for midfield reinforcements even with Eriksen and Casemiro still on the books, but that urgency will only intensify if both players depart. According to German journalist Christian Falk, there have been 'rumours' that United are eyeing Goretzka. Goretzka has been linked to United at various stages of his career over the years but needless to say, a transfer has never materialised. At the start of Vincent Kompany's reign at Bayern, it seemed Goretzka's time at the club was coming to an end, with limited minutes on the pitch. However, he has since regained the manager's confidence and is now featuring more regularly. He made 40 appearances last term across all competitions. Advertisement On Monday, Falk spoke to the 30-year-old and directly asked him about rumours that United want him. He answered, 'I'm very focused on the tournament [Club World Cup] here and am happy to be at Bayern.' 'I want to help the team next season as well.' Goretzka's comments make it clear he isn't considering a move to Old Trafford. Likewise, there's been little to suggest United are seriously pursuing him, with other midfield targets currently taking priority.
