Christopher Meloni Isn't Working on His Glutes the Way He Used To

When preparing to return to 'Law & Order' as detective Elliot Stabler after a decadelong hiatus, Christopher Meloni decided to bulk up a bit. 'I recognized that I had aged since the last time I was Elliot in front of the camera. I just wanted to come back formidable-looking,' Meloni said. It worked so well that the actor caused a brief frenzy in 2021 when a photo of his sculpted glutes went viral. Now, with his show 'Law & Order: Organized Crime' in its fifth season, Meloni, 64, says he's scaled back his workout routine. 'My niece told me I couldn't keep doing that to myself,' he recalled. 'I couldn't walk downstairs anymore. My knees wouldn't handle heavy squats and dead lifts anymore.'

Christopher Meloni knows why near-kiss with Mariska Hargitay on ‘Law & Order: SVU' ‘didn't work'

Not so star-crossed lovers. Christopher Meloni's Elliot Stabler and Mariska Hargitay's Olivia Benson have long had a 'will they or won't they' relationship on 'Law & Order: SVU.' During a recent TVLine Spotlight conversation, Meloni addressed, 'The kitchen thing,' referring to a scene during a Season 24 'SVU' episode where Stabler and Benson almost kissed. 'Obviously [series creator Dick Wolf] gets final say. It's his show and he didn't want that.' Both actors have starred in the show since 1999, so Stabler and Benson are a long time 'will they or won't they' for the ages. 8 Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni are seen on the film set of the 'Law and Order: Special Victims Unit' TV Series in New York City. We do the best we can to be honest with the scenes we're given,' Meloni explained. His goal with Hargitay is to 'make it honest, not make it bait. If we do bait, at least for me, I always do it with a wink. I think it's good-natured, but maybe you guys are over that, and that's valid.
